If you are mining FLUX, you must use a different GPU CORE and MEM setting as when you mining ETH. For FLUX mining try GPU CORE +200 MHz and MEM +0 MHz Info: https://www.hashrate.no/3070Oh I didn't know that ! I thought Afterburner settings worked for every situation. Thanks, now with Power limit 70%, Core +200 and Memory 0, I can reach about 60 Sol/s with 153W and 65°C with 40% fan speed !  Thank you very much for your help. I don't know where you reside but I guess you are in some cool place compared to most of Europe,here we are experiencing the hottest days of the year so far so running at 40% fan speed is not an option,I get like 69 degree C at 76% fan speed here with while 38 degree C outside,so I advise you to increase a bit the fan speed as you know the cooler a card run the longer its lifespan while even if you happen to damage the fans (rarely has happened to me) you can always replace them for a low cost compared to replacing the card.Just an advice from a fellow miner. Haha yes it is pretty cold where I live. Although I'm not sure where to find fans in case my 3070's fans break down... If you are too lazy to do such a cooling yourself, then buy a ready-made kit on aliexpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003600191997.htmlOn my GTX 1080 graphics cards, it has been doing an excellent job of cooling for several years. You only need to pick up the right fans, from 0.35 A. Uhm okay, but I don't need this... Thank you nonetheless. |

Is flux a memory intense algorithm or a core clock algorithm? It depends on the algorithm you are mining I think you need to do some research on that, for example ethash algo works better with memory clock than core clock.
Well to be honest I had no idea. I need to do some thorough research indeed... check every power connection (sockets on riser, psu, card)..minor burns makes the gpu power draw smaller. degraded thermal pads and thermal paste makes gpu components to throttle down to protect the components from overheating thus lower performance.
Well the 3070 is brand-new and I'm not using risers. I've checked temps with HWinFO: main GPU is at 65°C, hot spot is at 76°C... so I don't think it's a thermal issue.  Graphics cards have different type of memory, some have Hynix, some have Samsung and some have Micron, on my graphic cards I get a better hashrate when I turned down my Hynix Core clock to 0, this is just normal downclocking and it has no bad effect on the GPU.
Hold on are you talking about the GPU (core) clock or the memory clock ? I am a bit confused. I've seen many users sharing their afterburner settings with very low core clock (-500MHz) and very high memory clock (+1000MHz), getting about 60mh/s. Yet the issue is that my hashrate drops significantly when decreasing the core clock. Dude you speak about the ETHEREUM hashrate, you get 60 MH/s with +1000mem and -500core, but FLUX is an other algo, 60mh in Eth (ETHASH algo) doesnt mean you get 60 SOLS on FLUX (EQUIHASH 125,2 or so) I see ! Well I learned a new thing today, thanks.  |

Hello ! First time posting in this forum, so nice to meet you everyone I have a little issue, and I need some help please. I used to mine FLUX (ZelCash) with my 1060 6gb at 23 Sol/s. Yesterday I finally bought a Founder's Edition 3070 so that I can mine (and game) with it. My Afterburner settings are 80% Power, -502 Clock, +1107 Memory. However I cannot reach 60 Sol/s (or MH/s) like all 3070 owners with these settings ! Best I can reach is 49,5 Sol/s, using 186W. I tried setting the Core clock to 0, and it suddenly went up again to 60 Sol/s at 186W. But isn't that bad for the GPU's life and the power usage ? It doesn't feel right. I'm using the latest nvidia game-ready drivers (should I?), miniZ, on windows 10. What am I doing wrong ? (Thanks for reading my post by the way.) |
