1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCN] Deepcoin secure hashing (CPU/GPU) New algo/ No premine/ No IPO/ PoW on: November 19, 2014, 06:45:58 PM
Great to hear! It pleases me that you're working on this, I have a soft spot for Feathercoin as it was my first ever crypto purchase. Hopefully it does good on the back of this technical development.

I imagine this would use a Proof Of Twerk system?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCN] Deepcoin secure hashing (CPU/GPU) 100% PoW on: August 01, 2014, 07:04:40 PM

Thanks for that. Your criteria are much tighter than mine.

I'm satisfied that the notion of merge-mining is perceived as a valid strategy and has fairly broad acceptance amongst the “classic coins”, there's even an explicit config setting for them in Abe.

Myriad has excellent primary brand recognition as the merge-mining lynchpin of the “new generation” altcoins. It's difficult to see how it could be easily unseated from that position.

I had some initial concerns but, thus far, Myriad has respected the individual brand identities of its merge-mining flock.

Myriad's price performance has been quite responsive over its (let's face it, fairly short) history and that's a much more positive sign than the usual hockey stick price graph: \_____ that speaks so eloquently of stagnation.

I have an unfair advantage, I'm a psychologist by discipline so I'm acutely aware that all of the above pales into insignificance next to the absolute, basic principle of human psychology: we're more effective in just about everything we do when we work cooperatively in a group.

Not dead coin.

Cheers

Graham

I doff my proverbial cap to you, sir. That is deep!
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will EXO destroy Nxt, NEM, Node aka java crap? on: July 30, 2014, 09:01:25 AM

It has only been around for 6 months, give it time. If a hacker wants to attack a coin are they going to try to tackle a coin with military grade security (EXO) or noob grade security (Nxt).

It WILL happen. It is just a matter of when.

Yeah cos "military grade security" never ever gets breached... right?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCN] Deepcoin secure hashing (CPU/GPU) 100% PoW on: July 27, 2014, 07:51:56 PM
How about some sort of decentralized mixer, where outgoing transactions use coins from other nodes on the network and replaces them with funds from the sender. Blockchain would probably be immense though.

Anyone think they could use this to make a pool?
https://github.com/zone117x/node-cryptonote-pool/blob/master/README.md

I'd have a go but pretty busy this weekend.

diff is too low, we don't need a pool for now.

My intel i5-2410m found over 100 blocks

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=705494.msg8001359#msg8001359

cakir is right, you can mine solo with great efficiency.

I am mining solo, though 3 cpu cores only. With a pool I could get my GPU on it.

people are greedy and want to become milionairs in one week max.
what a lame thinking, especially in crypto wild west.

+1

If it was that easy, everyone would be doing it.

As for everyone else, namely the BagHolders amongst you.......

If you want to give up, and you are ready to get out and move on no matter the cost.
Then please send your CSO to this address:
145GUFkFkemTFtRJKXXut1mykXjULpTU4t

It is not worth anything anyways.
BUT there is no reason to give it back to the Dev (or whoever is manipulating the market and scamming all of you).
Especially for only 80 satoshi or less.
All you will do besides ripping yourself off, is re-arming the Dev (or whoever) to continue ripping other people off using your coins.
DONT DO THAT.

If you do send your CSO coins to the address above, then please also send me a PM and include:
- your email address to contact you down the road if I cant find you here.
- EXACTLY how much CSO you sent to me, and the transaction number, so I can keep track of who sent what easily.
- your BTC address, where I can send BTC if anything ever comes of your CSO.
- also, you could include a return CSO address, if you still believe this could turn around, and might want your CSO back as is instead of BTC.

To clarify, I do not want your CSO.
I am only offering to hold it for you, if you are ready to give up and do something dumb like dumping @ 40 satoshis.
I will be here anyways, watching the embers die on this pitiful fake fireplace. So if you can't be bothered, I will be here and I will be bothered.

Considering it is now worthless.
I don't think you have much to worry about this request.
For one thing, they will be publicly visible now at that address Wink Rubbing the Dev (or whoever) the wrong way.
It is obviously to protect what is left of CSO, and keep the remaining coins out of the hands of whoever scammed you all.
This may be over.
But you can still make it worse for others by making the wrong moves with your worthless coins.

This is ONLY if you are ready to give up. INSTEAD of dumping for nothing.

(I will be gone all weekend, Thurs-Mon, dont freak out if I am unresponsive because I will be back... and more pissed off at this Dev than ever!!!)
(I do hope someone will hang around until then, to ensure nobody walks in here and makes a horrible investment without knowing better.)
(Help each other.... it is so much cooler than dropping in on old threads to brag about how much profit you made getting out at the right time because of how smart you are. Like ten times cooler.)

You gonna share out the PoS interest on it all too? :p
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSO] CSCoin | X11 | PoW + PoS | Escrow IPO | CryptoCoin For Counter-Strike on: July 14, 2014, 05:15:19 PM

What you said.

Ah yes, it would be a mistake to change the ticker now. I suppose CryptoStrike:Online is the best fit for it then and doesn't directly use a trademarked brand but alludes to it quite well.

Re: The name.

How about a ticker symbol 'XCS' and the full name CounterStrikeCoin or CS:Coin/CounterStrike:Coin  like they use for the game naming.

It's simples really.

Sent out more for the IPO.

Received, thank you sir!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SIM] Simcoin - A Simple Coin on: July 03, 2014, 05:32:03 PM
This time it was dewlance.com.

20 min response time was, of course, a big lie - it's already one hour and no reaction to the high priority ticket.

Sick of these VPS'es, want to rent a good dedicated server.

Anyone knows where I can order a prepaid virtual card for bitcoins? Anybody tried this site: http://prepaidvcard.com ?

Otherwise I am afraid I will have to close the exchange - it takes too much time, I cannot write code Sad

That site looks shady (after a quick scan of reviews). Have a look at https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Virtual_private_server there's plenty that accept BTC directly.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCN] Deepcoin secure hashing (CPU/GPU) on: June 27, 2014, 12:46:42 PM
Not at all. It is only the hashrate calculations that are affected. The accepted shares, are calculated correctly and payouts are also calculated correctly.

I've figured out what was going on. I was using sgminer 5, and upon connecting to the pool the diff was getting set to 20.480. I've just tried it with 4.1 and the diff is .16 and shares are actually going through at a decent rate like they should.
If anyone else experiences this with sgminer 5 (which is still a beta I think) then use an older version!
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCN] Deepcoin secure hashing (CPU/GPU) on: June 27, 2014, 12:33:50 PM

I have to work out the hash rate calculations for this coin.

If any of the miners currently mining - could you please let me know 1) your mining address, 2) your displayed hashrate?

Thanks

I was mining there (DBcMGWyZRzoyKWHY73F4gLnxhJwMJk6nhE). Pool diff was 20 my displayed hasrate was about 300kh/s, figured something was wrong (am mining at 4.5Mh/s) so went back to solo mining.
So it's clearly something wrong with the pool if it's giving some massively increased readouts for some and massively reduced for others, then the shares/payouts are going to be really screwed.
I'd advise people to carry on solo til this is sorted.

Mine using your wallet address. Will be monitoring the first few blocks to ensure everything is working ok.

So please, help us find blocks!

Pool hashrate was 700mh now 1.7 gh yet net hash has sat around 250mh consistently. These pool stats accurate?
