1  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100.000$ investment on: January 08, 2015, 10:31:30 PM
Newbie comes to forum and asks for investment advice for $100k on 1st post ... no other details of financial situation necessary to give any sensible advice ... nobody suspects trolling ??

But what does it change if he's trolling? It doesn't invalidate the question.

It's not about whether the question can be answered or not. It's about whether it should be.
2  Economy / Currency exchange / Buying 0.015 Bitcoin. I will Go first. Partial Payment in Litecoin. on: December 23, 2014, 04:42:32 PM
Buying 0.015 Bitcoin.

Preev Rate is $5.

My offer is $6.

I can pay part in Litecoin as I have 0.88 Litecoins available.  Litecoins are valued $2.460 on preev.  If you would like to do this, PM or post both your Litecoin address and Paypal email at the same time to avoid delays.

Unfortunately there's not much else I can offer as payment so you'll just have to trust me with the remaining balance which is $3.54. I think the cost of taking that risk is very low since $3.54 is a very small amount to most people. Also, the cost of me taking the time to convince potential buyers is way to high in exchange for that amount of money. And if I take more time to convince you, obviously the cost to me is higher. I have ways to prove trust beyond a reasonable doubt but it would take too much damn time to. So I ask that you just trust me mmk? I also have a positive feedback way back, showing that I purchased $9 worth of bitcoins with $15 worth of litecoins from a long term member as evidenced at the following page:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=349086

Since the website is at bitcointalk.org, it is safe to go to that page. Otherwise, go to my profile, click on the hyperlink titled "Trust" in blue right below language label which should take you to my feedback page.

The following source is a blockchain which shows that I sent 5.649 Litecoins on 10/5/14:

http://explorer.litecoin.net/address/LNCyTUZ1t2DkhJK43QD6Db4U3Qwbu9zFVW

Many similar sources show the same thing:

https://coinplorer.com/LTC/Addresses/LQKBhpPabx5Kj8g4aFSrZYWJLvDhM6HdbY

Bitcoins and Litecoins are very liquid. I think we all know this. Exchanging highly liquid assets is like exchanging money. I exchanged Bitcoins for Litecoins. The fact that I literally exchanged $15 for $9 shows that I don't care about $6. So why would I care about $3.54? Several sources indicate that the Litecoins I sold on 10/5/14 were valued at $15. Proof isn't really required to show value. Subjective knowledge may already be enough.

I will only make the exchange outlined above once. To prove this, I will only use the following address to pay the Litecoins:

LNCyTUZ1t2DkhJK43QD6Db4U3Qwbu9zFVW

It cointains 0.086 Litecoins according to the blockchain. The final transaction on that address will be to send the 0.086 Litecoins.

K go.
3  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying $9 Worth of Bitcoin for $15 Paypal, $15 Amazon, or $25 GC on: October 05, 2014, 02:11:49 PM
I know already that Paypal is not secure. I'm just accepting Paypal in case anybody wants to take a chance. $9 is a very small amount of money to me. Therefore I have no desire to steal that amount.

If no traders want to take a chance with Paypal, I can pay with Amazon. Aditionally, I can pay with Litecoin. $15 worth of Litecoins for $9 Bitcoin.

I saw it too. The Asian kid got the answer right!
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price are you going to cash out your BTC stash on: July 29, 2014, 02:52:02 AM
$10,000 Minimum. Any less and it's not worth it for me. At a price around $5000, I will sell a very small(1%) portion of my investment to cover initial costs. The rest I will sell for $10,000 per coin at the least, or nothing at all. To me the opportunity cost of not investing in Bitcoin for big returns is worth less than the costs of losing my investment entirely.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any runescapers here? on: July 15, 2014, 08:18:42 PM
Runescape used to be awesome until they added trade limits. Balanced trade takes all the fun out of merchanting. When Jagex removed Pking, it was officially over for me. I heard they added it again, but it's not the same. Also the new combat system blows.

Guess I will start things off with my design:

9  Other / Beginners & Help / Offline Wallets Stored on Flash Drives: Receiving Bitcoins on: July 03, 2014, 12:31:42 AM
I'm not completely sure how bitcoins are stored on wallet files. I would really appreciate it if somebody can verify a few things for me.

If I do the following steps in order, I will receive bitcoins and they will be stored on the wallet.dat file on the flash drive, correct? Also, the next time I open the wallet that was stored on the flash drive using Bitcoin Core on an Online computer, will I be able to view and send the bitcoins?

1). Create a wallet while disconnected from internet using Bitcoin Core on temporary operating system booted from CD.

2). Transfer wallet.dat file to a flash drive.

3). Shut off computer.

4). Send coins to address of the wallet that was stored on the flash drive.
