1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning]: Grandoreiro banking trojan/malware evolves to target crypto wallets on: Today at 02:12:44 PM
Bitcoin and/or crypto enthusiast are always a big target for every cyber attack. since I have my email used on several sites out of ignorance of how vulnerable it could be if exposed, I got a lost of messages that seems very suspicious.

Since I already got information about such attack here in the forum I literally don't give attention to every unsolicited emails. And some times my email provided usually do a great job by pushing most in to the spam category where I would like not reach where going through my mail.

Basically whenever I receive mails whether from an official site I don't click on it in a hurry because I know their are guys out there who gets informations from our devices without our knowledge and can be very tricky by sending a phishing link long side with an expected email from any site like banking apps emails etc hence when our ignorant fellows hit the links it automatically share the necessary informations that the scammers and/or hackers are looking for.

Anyways that's for sharing with us and keep an eye on latest information concerning cyber attacks.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rune vs BRC20 on: Today at 12:15:42 PM
Is there really any need to keep learning about a scam that totally failed?

Runes are just distractions that came under bitcoin network and caused a lot of network congestion which pissed a lot of people off.

Some kind of thing that called itself standard which every one can create their own token with names that makes it look special and try to sell them out at the same time.
They are a whole bunch of shit that caused our attention sometimes time ago, no wonder it die off gradually.

I thought we are past discussions about this failed project?

Innovations dont make sense at the onset. I believe there is more to this in the future than what we have today. An experiment that failed will be pivoted and it could turn out to be an advancement in bitcoin network.
Casey Rodarmor is that you? An advancement in bitcoin network you said?

Maybe you're missing something here; here is an image of comparison which I obviously didn't see any reasonable evidence for creating the so called Runes if not for exploitation of people who are interested in the get rich quick scheme..

Certainly I can't decide for you what to love or think of the project. You can go ahead with what you think of it, it's not any of my business right!

..., I wanted some kind of explanation or defination if there is one to what a balanced aggressive bitcoin investment situation should be ....

I think that these points have been sufficiently explained, especially since the punchline is that you have to figure out for yourself in terms of your boundaries, and yeah, if you end up going over the boundaries, you might not realize until it is too late.  How can anyone else figure out those kinds of matters for you?  You gotta figure out how much of an emergency fund, reserve and/or float that you need based on your own balancing of matters.. and yeah, I cannot tell you that if you are worried about it, you should error on one side or the other.. that's up to you, but if you know all of the various factors with which you are working, then your putting them to the test and balancing them out with the passage of time, you are going to likely find out how much to put on one side or another he and there probably is no "perfect" balance, but instead something in the ballpark of feeling comfortable and/or sufficiently comfortable.. but maybe also a bit uncomfortable at the same time.
To buttress what JayJuangee has said, In a simple time or should I put it in understandable proverb; All fingers are not equal. Which means my own balanced aggressive bitcoin and your own balancing of bitcoin investment isn't same because we all do not have the same capabilities or purchase, there is to "fixed balance bitcoin investment as your level of income determines your own balancing of bitcoin investment.Since we all have our different capabilities of bitcoin investment it's our own duty to decide when our investment is balanced with other spends which are classified under emergency funds/reserve or float funds.

In other words, How much you earn should determine how much you should invest because if you invest too much you will probably get into some kind of trouble in your investment journey. Hence try to maintain a good investment habits, as far as your aren't impressing anyone with your investment but rather preparing a great future for yourself through the opportunity bitcoin has brought to us you should do it evenly.

For me I think that the logic should be, how much of your discretional or disposable income is what is meant to determine how much you should invest, and not how much you earn. for example, Mr A, can be earning $200 but can be making $190 worth of expenses in terms of his living expenses and a provitional emergency funds based on life style and left with only $10 as a discretional or disposable income, while Mr B can as well be earning $200 but spend less than $190 maybe $150, or $100worth of expenses based on life style, from the above example you can see that both Mr A and Mr B will definitely arrived at different amount of disposable incomes which is meant to determine how much should be allocated to your investment, every investor must understand how much of their disposable income after taken care of their personal needs and that of the provisional emergency funds inclusive, irrespective of the amount earned. The point is that it is your disposable that should determines how much should invest and not how much you earn and you should also know that expenses may tend to vary from time to time and what you only needed to invest with is your disposable .
Perhaps you're probably correct, about your assumption that how much of your discretionary or disposable income is what determines how much you should invest rather than how much you earn, but I'd like to point out to you @Tmoonz that you're wrong from a different view point; bitcoin investment is not a default option in which you must invest what you have at your discretion; it's an important choice that should be taken seriously.

Perhaps when one talks about investing in bitcoin, it is supposed to be a very important part of one's life that is worth cutting other expenses to increase the rate and/or level of your investment; your lifestyle can wait for a moment, but bitcoin cannot, so you must sometimes not make yourself too comfortable by investing a small portion of your income in bitcoin, instead take it upon yourself to make a better portion of your income count by investing it in bitcoin. For instance, if you earn $200 per week and your weekly spending for the so-called lifestyle is $190, and you have roughly $10 in discretionary or disposable income, is that a good investment? Absolutely not! So it's basically how much you earn and a percentage you're willing to give for the future, rather than what's in your disposable income, because bitcoin isn't like shitcoin, where you can put whatever you want, but you decide how much of your income should be invested in your long-term investment scheme.

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Runes are now worthless and have killed Ordinals too on: Today at 03:41:32 AM
Now try to sell them all. Order books will be thick, but only on the ask side Grin
Where Can I find the order book? Couldn't find anywhere  Cheesy

I saw só many people saying that bitcoin feels would be forever high, and nft were going to dominate bitcoin blocks... it died so fast lol

In Brazil we call this "chicken fight". Ever saw a chicken flying? Lol

I will admit that I thought that the fees would stay higher for longer, and perhaps with a bit of uncertainty for several months.. .but, yeah we are ONLY about a month out and fees have been pretty damned reasonable for about the last week or so..
Personally since I don't have enough bitcoin to move around I didn't feel much bordered apart from recieving my campaign payment which I use for investing gradually and since it's relatively small i just leave it on the exchange for some time before I send to my wallet.

But it's a surprise to see the big issue that had many threads discussing high tx fees and the effect of Runes and Ordinals shit die off without notice. Whatever was done to pull that shit out of bitcoin is highly appreciated.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful, FoxIt PDF Reader flaw being exploited by Hackers targeting cryptos on: Today at 03:13:57 AM
This is wild and definitely one of the biggest type of hackers/fraud in the 21st century.

I want a similar scenario in the movie called "BeeKeeper" where a woman who's a custodian to an orphanage funds stored using a crypto hardware or so in her devices was scammed with this kind of malware but in a different format but almost the same thing and she committed suicide which lead to the movie.

Now, I said the above to should what the result of this kind of malware attack for bitcoin enthusiast can be if eventually one falls victim of such but perhaps we are warn ahead of time which is absolutely appropriated.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Read Well and also think we'll before you respond to post. on: Today at 03:00:15 AM
First, you need to start with yourself. If you read the first and last pages of the topic, and this most often happens to the majority of users, then everything that was discussed earlier is unknown to them. This is why we see the same answers.
Okay, a lot of time I kinda find some reasonable answers already in the first page but this threads keeps rolling till a 10 - infinity pages yet things are repeated by high ranked members, since I have lesser experience about the forum I felt it is a norm for threads to keep haboring same answers with different tunes and paraphrased texts. I can't say I haven't done that before but from now I will only be more focused on discussing relevant issues, agreeing and disagreeing for the best. Since change begins with one, let's give it a shot.

desperation to get something can make members come up with off topics, like they have to meet up, get where others who came before you are like you want to rob shoulders with your seniors.
AFAIK this a forum and an anonymous one for that matter hence there is no designated area for only high rank members to discuss or contribute on. The forum badge does not determine there knowledge but just a badge to show how far you have gone in the forum.

One can ask questions or even say something not related to a discussion based on their knowledge and they will be guided or redirected hence knowledge is being passed. What I'm tryna say is, your statement here about robbing shoulders seems too sentimental or discriminating.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A person's browser history is a window into their online Identity. on: Today at 02:22:20 AM
Just a simple setting up your web browser to delete all browsing history each time you close it will make a huge difference.

I just got to find out that it doesn't really change anything, after I saw this thread I went to delete all my browser history on chrome as I was totally not interested in any history related stuff, so I took my time to clear all history.

To my greatest surprise, I found the "My Google Activity" button and clicked on it, I saw that even with my browser history being cleared there are over 8,700 past activities stored in the Google activity. Which means that no matter how much you clear your browser history you will still find it hard to see that it's clean.

No wonder a lot of reputable forum users always say they browse the internet with duckduckgo instead of Google as Google is the opposite of privacy. Maybe from now I will take this into account and start practicing using duckduckgo instead of Google.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks against cryptocurrency? on: Today at 02:03:06 AM
Quote
The main reason banks do not accepted Bitcoins as legal tender, is because they aren't backed by a central authority.
The main reason is because the legislation doesn't allow it. Otherwise in a country like El Salvador where it is counted as legal tender the banks accept it as legal tender as well and bitcoin is not backed by any central authority be it in El Salvador or elsewhere!
For clarity purposes, I will love to ask you some questions as I'm willing to learn from you.

Bitcoin is accepted as a legal tender in El Salvador, and the people who accepted it as legal tender in that country are they not the government? If yes! Is the government not a centralised body or authority?

So How then is bitcoin not backed by a centralised authority in El Salvador? Just wanna know. I'm curious
11  Other / Meta / Re: Is this a bugs on: May 22, 2024, 06:52:40 PM
Is that supposed to be the forum problem or the browsers which you use in your computers fault?

Personally I don't see any thing as a bug from what you explained. Maybe it's just me that doesn't understand, other members might be able to relate with that.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do your parents invest in bitcoin ? on: May 22, 2024, 06:42:24 PM
Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?
Perhaps, bitmover already gave you the best of information you can get there.

But I will add my personal experience too. At my age, I'm very very young compared to the people I see here in the forum, although it's an anonymous forum but I still see alot of my parents age here. Since, I know alot of old people are here who are capable of having me as their children 10x then, I can say my parents ages invests in bitcoin.

But for my parents, Nahh.. I guess if I tell my mom to get some for her self as an investment she might if I'm able to convince her but for my father his in heaven 🕊️ I guess I would have gotting a lot of bitcoin in his portfolio if he was here, so basically the impact of this was negative in my journey with bitcoin.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A quick reminder to all beginners, the cloud is someone's else computer. on: May 22, 2024, 06:23:46 PM
For obvious reasons trust wallet is not a "trust wallet"

Ever since I got here I have learnt that any wallet that is a closed source wallet is not advisable for someone to use for storing their crypto assets which has been repeated over times and is not recommended for any reasons.

Personally, I use trust wallet but in a very sentimental way, I can't have more than a $100 in a trust wallet for up to 24hrs, I do not like it for once because it ends up becoming an issue once you begin to use them frequently. Your funds are always in a danger, for this I only use trust wallet for any kind of temporary transactions or especially free airdrops that tends to be so much interesting as I know that it wouldn't require any of my hard earn money.

Anything prune to losses should always be avoided, instead of recommending trust wallet which is obviously not a true wallet, you can suggest a wallet like Metamask, as it's an open source wallet.. it's more safer than the so called trust wallet for a beginner.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin backed loans on: May 22, 2024, 06:16:23 AM
Hey guys. I don't want to sell my btc, but I need some money for my family vacation. I looked around several DeFi platforms where I can lock wrapped BTC and get stablecoins, also looked to companies like SALT and Unchained. I don't like 2 things: high interest rate and liquidations. Anyone took BTC backed loans? What is your experience?
I don't know if there is any such thing as bitcoin backed loans but I can speak of using your bitcoin as collateral when borrowing from someone who knows the values of your bitcoin but perhaps a lot of people wouldn't want that to be the case because it's might be hard to be sure you're the right owner of the assets in a wallet if evidence not tendered.

High interest rates and liquidation are the side effects of taking loans from those Defi so if you don't have any other source then you're left with no option than to take their offers.

But why would you have extra funds to fund your lifestyle? It's absolutely against the methodologies which we have in bitcoin AFAIK, you must have at least an emergency funds that can last for at least 3 - 6 months and if you did that you wouldn't be caught out with situations like this, and perhaps it seems yiu don't have another source of income to facilitate your desires, the solution here is find someone closer loan/ borrow from em then you pay back when the time is due.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: End of Bitcoin on: May 22, 2024, 05:59:48 AM
I'm a bit of zero technical knowledge but for the puzzle 66 how often do we find public keys from made public? I guess not regular or rare.

No matter how hard the vulnerability seems before that time that you speculate that attack will take over the bitcoin devs will surely find a solution around it.

I believe since this vulnerability or puzzle 66 attack has been made known solutions are already on their way or maybe someone is working on it to fix it, so pubkeys in the mempool wouldn't get attacked and redirected to a different wallet.
16  Other / Meta / Re: Is this forum getting worse and worse? on: May 21, 2024, 09:03:57 PM

For about mixer ban, well I think theymos did that to safe this forum and he wouldn't want any authority to clamp down this forum due to how mixers is regularly promoted here.

Perhaps OP is fully aware of that, but he's concerned with the well being of the forum as it the forum traffic reduced drastically since the ban of mixers unlike before when the forum was with mixer campaigns.

He's saying indirectly that a lot of users we have nowadays are merely here for the campaign rewards and not a genuine bitcoin lover or a privacy Oriented people, but to you Blackhatcoiner, I can say that your observations are correct but at least in a 100% 20- 25 percent might at least genuine posters.

But in conclusion we are gradually reducing from even from my observations too but when I check the WO thread I see a lot of old and genuine posters who are only focused in conversations regarding the bitcoin accumulations and not the welfare of the forum generally.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If this is doable what will you add or remove? on: May 21, 2024, 12:39:23 PM
Perhaps we are on an imaginative situation here but I would love my desire to be true for bitcoin including what other privacy lovers would want to add.

On a personal level I would want bitcoin to be as more decentralised more than it is today, monero is more decentralised than bitcoin but if I was to be a developer I would write a script to make the bitcoin network more decentralised than monero that I know of.

If there where to be more option, I would add this, I would develop bitcoin in a way that those tokens like ordinals that cause problems of congestion in the bitcoin network would never get into bitcoin network.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to maximize winning potential and control excessive gambling habits on: May 21, 2024, 12:19:46 PM
It's crucial to identify the methods, patterns and strategies that can help one cope with his or her gambling lifestyle without altering or destroying the relationships between them and others, apparently you have just identified 5 useful tips that can help one in managing their funds in the area of gambling but at some point while I was reading some of the points tend to collide as they mean almost the same thing.

The result of a good gambling management is always very good as it's batter of self - control, self awareness and self discipline because it takes all this to adhere to ones own rules towards gambling.
