They own motor boats, trade along the rivers, buy fuel, have generators and wear t shirts and cargo pants. Most of them.

I tought the discussion around healthcare brought by the Coronavirus was going to be an assist for him. Trump will win his second term pretty easily.

weren't MERS and SARS a type of coronavirus themselves? They pop up every once in a while

Yeah Japan and Germany as well are going to use an incredibly large amount of money to stimulate their economies. I wonder if this will backfire, while others are saying that the stimulus is so big that it will unstuck Japan from its 30 years long underperformance.

Most people don't care, if Facebook's currency was to launch one day you would see millions adopting it. What some techie types as you say, think of it, changes nothing in front of the reality of humanity. The computer was a niche thing as well, maybe the firstcomers from decades ago think the project has gone the wrong way, then this is the future of bitcointalk's forumers.

There is no work at home options for most people in third world countries, that's why quarantines just don't make sense there, especially since they have so few cases.
And the consequences of such policies there is not about having to close a restaurant in a touristic town like in the West but it's about literally starving.

maybe we will be regretting the quarantines after seeing what they will unleash

Tourism is gone and it will be for some time even after travel restrictions will be eased. Countries like Italy and Spain heavily affected, first because of the quarantines and travel restrictions, second because of the stigma that they will keep having even after the crisis has passed. I can understand why stocks and commodity prices are dropping, because companies are closing and production are going down, but why should this virus have such a huge influence on the Bitcoin price? We do not have large industries closing their doors and the mining hardware manufacturers are still producing and the hash rate is still climbing. Wall Street whales are liquidating their crypto to cover for their stock losses

It just can't work in a very poor country where people lack savings and most live day by day, we are going to see some Corona revolutions in places where anger will turn into anti government sentiment

it makes you think about how much this stuff is spread. Are they positive because they meet a lot of people or this is just what you get when you test randomly?

The Ottoman Empire always lagged behind European Empires, it tried modernizing only when it was too late and balkanization had already started.
As long as the majority of Turks keep being ideologically in line with everything that was wrong about the Turkey of 100 years ago than Turkey will keep underperforming. It needs an ideological renewal, that can then be pushed to the Middle East as an alternative to the religious extremism and sectarianism there.

The income source of many throughout the World is being swept away by the effect of Coronavirus quarantines and travel bans. Businesses are closing, cross border traders in poor countries going hungry, restaurants and hotels in touristic towns on the brink etc. It's still early to quantify the damage but what's sure is that it's a very nasty wound.
In the near future poverty and unemployment will steeply raise in some countries, so is Coronavirus going to ignite political revolutions? Which countries are possible candidates for big changes in the coming months/years?

A lockdown in a poor country is just not possible, people earn and eat day by day, with the possibility of going hungry if they don't work enough/sell enough for the day.
I think we will be talking about revolutions/political upheavals ignited by Coronavirus, and this can happen not only in poor countries but also in advanced economies if unemployment suddenly raise.

It's the whales with stock portfolios, they have been raising liquidity by selling cryptos. That's where the big drop came from.
