1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARG Puzzle with 3.5 BTC Private Key Prize *update on: July 01, 2014, 10:54:29 PM
Go to sleep guys, not good for ya. I've been up 24 hours on it and I'm starting to see crap. I can't handle it as well as I could when I was in my teens D: Need to stay up 4 more hours to get back into proper schedule. @.@

Alright, it's 1230 in the after noon. I'm going to bed. I'll dump what I got- just remember me when you're rolling around in tall that BTC Cry **sniff**

7:51 - my hunch for this for a long time was that it was "Bit Sha"(7 characters) followed by it's private key(51 characters). I tried like a million times and it wouldn't work. I tried so many variations. No dice.

"Bit Sha" - Bitcoin and Shacoin are both things. But so is Catcoin, which if you couldn't tell, is pretty relevant to the image. All of these are 7 charaters long as well. I tried variations of "Bit Sha Cat" and the such with combos of hashes but had no luck.

I tried most every variation of the previous followed by their priv key equivalent as well as the img file's hash/priv key.

Just in case some of y'all don't follow- Take any data >> SHA-256 >> Base58check >> Private Key

As for the Catcoin, I couldn't find anything that led me to a transaction or block or any such that had a clue. Catcoin uses scrypt to hash and I didn't even bother looking into it, so maybe there's something there(prolly not).

Here's a list of a small portion of stuff I tried so you can get an idea of what I was going for.

Oh, and surely some one else has noticed that the file size for this little jpg is 1.21mb right? I turned it into an audio file and found nothing. Checked the hex, ran steno tools on it and couldn't come up with anything. But then I noticed that after saving/moving/copying/whatever the file size dropped to 600kb. Perhaps the false file size is part of clue?

I don't know anymore.

Good night and good luck.

Does 7 Bit 51 Sha mean anything?

No, but I heard that 7 ate 9.

Ah, tanks.

My settings were as follows:

Red:    +65
Green: +142
Blue:   -200
Monochrome: True

I didn't really spend much time on it (taking break from trying hashes) and I don't really know what I'm doing so hopefully you can pull another image out of there  Wink

Hey guys, new here and still trying to play catch-up. I've read through the thread and thought I'd try to contribute some. Not really sure if it's still relevant (rumored onion-skin map?) but here's the fixed version of the image that I came up with...
