1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: July 15, 2014, 04:39:46 PM
Congratulations to everyone else....but I still don't have my coins from Cryptsy.  Sad Got an email from support saying that all the problems had been fixed in a site wide audit, but to reply if coins were still missing.  Replied to that email explaining that I'm still missing over 70% of coins after over 2 weeks, and sent the same info to the "Customer Service Manager" I have been speaking to for the last couple weeks.  No response 24 hrs later.  Sent them both emails again.  24 hours later, still no response....

As for this weird argument about whether anonymity has an effect on the long term success of this coin; that is the ONLY reason I'm interested in this coin.  It is the only thing that sets it apart from all other coins and will hopefully have a huge impact on the crypto world.

Maybe I'm missing something, but could someone explain to me how working with the Monero devs could improve anonymity? Didn't Monero implement CryptoNote which utilizes ring signatures? Meaning that it merely clouds the sender because you know it is one of X people involved in the signature? And the anonymity relies heavily on the members involved in the ring signature. My understanding of the Zerocoin implementation is that it would be cryptographically impossible to link the sender to the receiver.

Meeh, have a great vacation. You definitely deserve it!

Update for the withdrawal issue: Got 30% of my coins yesterday (as posted above), and later got an email last night from support apologizing for the long wait and letting me know that all my coins had been withdrawn. I responded, letting them know that that was not true, and only 30% had, and she replied back with this:

"I am able to locate the transaction IDs
I will forward this to our 2nd tier of technical support
we will resend this. Thank you for your patience."

Yay, there's a second tier technical support. I'm going to love waiting the next two weeks for their response. Maybe if support actually read my tickets, they would have seen the one where I included ALL the transaction ID's for all my missing withdrawals. And then maybe I'd actually have all my coins now.
Rspigler , If you dont mind, can  you please send me the transaction ID? or your address where you received the coins ? You can PM me , if you dont want to make it public.
I want to analyze , what might be the issue.. I totally understand, if you don't want to reveal the transaction ID or address..  Its okay.

Hey geekz, sorry I've thought about this and I'd rather not. Especially because this username is linked to my AFK ID. But I will definitely continue to give updates on my progress with Cryptsy. Sorry I can't help out more.

I'm on my mobile now but when I get the opportunity I'll check out the wallet generator and the paper wallet design when I get a chance and let you know what I think. Thanks for all the work!

After a successful withdraw from Cryptsy, I try to deposit small amount of ANC for test to cryptsy and my wallet,
from Bluetrade

ANC shown in few minutes at my wallet,

and you know the rest of the story!!!

respond from cryptsy was fast:

I have escalated this ticket to our tech support team.
Kindly give them time to respond as they reply to tickets in the order that they are received.
Please let me know when your deposit has gone thru.
Thank you kindly for your patience and understanding

Sincerely,
Michelle

Edit: Obviously every transaction = withdraw / deposit must be done manually

That sucks

Interesting test. Thanks for the report. You must be right, everything's manual.

I was honestly just thinking of trying to show the Darkcoin/Cryptonote/CoinJoin/Zerocash folk some common sense.

Yes, it would be great to create a small comparaison website to inform people why Anoncoin with Zerocoin implementation is the most anonymous coin.
This could be an "impartial" Smiley website with a specific domain name to be well referenced and also do some adwords.
If you and others people here could create the content, I can do the rest.

That's a great idea. Way better than just spamming subreddits. I'll try to get started on that in the next couple days. Could I run it by you to make sure all the technical stuff is right?

Hopefully they will eventually find someone to do some marketing.

Hey, I've got some free time on my hands. Not sure what the best way is to contact the developers, but I'd love to help out with the PR. I'd obviously prefer to get paid with some spare ANC, but really that'd just be a bonus and I'd like to help out with the acceptance of the coin. (Disclosure: I do own a lot myself, so I'd be making money off of its success) I've got some ideas on where to talk it up and how to help out, but if anyone here has ideas themselves but not the time to work on them, let me know what it is and I'll see what I can do. I have no coding experience.

Here is an idea to think about for publicity.

Ads on major sites, bought through google or other services are generally very cheap on sites that would have a lot of people who might be attracted to anoncoin.

Further, ads can be bought either by the click, very expensive, or by the impression, which is potentially very cheap. Impression ads with simply the anon logo and some text, in some offbeat sites could be very cheap.

I did this some years ago, but here is a general idea of how it id done. Probably has not changed much over the years.

1) Get free google ad credits, microsoft credits, yahoo credits etc. It used to be easy to get $50 and $100 credits, with no obligations. Someone who works on sites regularly will know up to date info.

2) Open ad accounts at the offerers, e.g. google

3) Pick a bunch of sites where ads are sold by impression, e.g. 1000 impressions for 50 cents or whatever. Sites like RebelFreakshowAnarchists.com are extremely cheap to advertise on obviously.

4) Beware of scumbaggery. Microsoft and google both used to try to use dirty tricks to burn through the free credits. Start by setting a budget of $3 a day or something like that.

5) Make a bunch of graphic or text ads. Graphic ads can have a lot of effects etc. Someone who is good at art has to do it.

6) Run at least four or five diffetent ads at the same time going to several different landing pages.

7) In your ad account you can figure out which ads get clicks and which don't. Since you are paying for impressions, not clicks, this is a key. You may start by getting only one or two clicks per thousand impressions, but after working pruning ads you might find a few ads that get a lot of clicks.

Cool The webmaster of anoncoin has to review the logs to see which landing page is best, i.e., which page has people stay the longest and then view more pages on the site.

9) Once you have a good combination of ads that people like and landing pages that are popular you open the throttle.

is there any way to prevent eight followed by end parentheses from turning into the smiley sombrero dude?

Haha I was wondering why that was there...I've never done anything with ads before but I could try to look into it. I was honestly just thinking of trying to show the Darkcoin/Cryptonote/CoinJoin/Zerocash folk some common sense.

Also, back on the topic of Cryptsy withdrawals, I'm very glad to see people starting to get their coins. I still only have under 30% of them, but am very optimistic now. Hopefully will be able to breathe a sigh of relief in a few days. Seems like I overreacted and was thinking of the worst

I try to withdraw ANC from cryptsy , and it is processed in 5 min
but still not showing on blockchain and my wallet after 1h
 Undecided
as often said, dont use craptsy.

coins came : )   Craptsy work...

Wow, you're lucky. I've waited two and half weeks and have had nothing. Except today a little less than 30% of the coins I withdrew showed up. Not sure why 30%, but I'm feeling much better about it all than I was yesterday. Hate to throw this word around but thought we were getting goxed...my support tickets were getting closed and I wasn't getting any serious response. Still worried, but feeling much better. Will continue to keep everyone updated.

Is anyone concerned about the Torcoin launch? I'm mining both... don't wanna get burned.

Does anyone know if they actually implemented Zerocoin like they claim? And if this is the torcoin that has recently been discussed to incentivize running tor relays, or is this just another coin with the same name?

As for the withdrawal issue, lets just keep each other posted. I still have no coins. What worries me is that the test withdrawal of 0.9 ANC on the same day went through, while the large amount afterwards has not. Seems to me like this isn't as arbitrary as they are claiming it is.

I honestly am not sure to tell you the truth.

As far as the withdrawal issue... 6 days now, submitted 3 tickets, & I've still got 78 Anoncoins floating around in limbo. I had no trouble at all the last few times. If they don't show up by tomorrow, I'm gonna start hammering them with ticket after ticket until I get my coins!

Haha tried that already...it seems that if you open up other tickets for the same issue they automatically close them without contacting you. And when I confronted them about it support got all sassy with me telling me that they've already apologized and sent it to tech support and I just need to wait.

So it has been over a week since my ANC withdrawals "processed" yet I still have no coins. I have submitted multiple tickets to support, but they couldn't be more useless. This is a lot of money for me and I see that this is a problem a lot of people are having. Has anyone actually gotten their coins yet?
