1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks against cryptocurrency? on: June 05, 2024, 03:39:33 PM
Are banks really against crypto currency?

I think banks are drawn to the efficiency and speed offered by blockchain technology, which can facilitate faster and cheaper transactions. That is why most countries are now adopting and making digital versions of their fiat currency.

I do feel that banks are wary of the regulatory uncertainty surrounding cryptocurrency, as well as the risks associated with its volatility and potential for fraud.

Despite these concerns, many banks are exploring ways to incorporate cryptocurrency into their services, such as custody and trading.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin gradually turning away from its purpose? on: June 05, 2024, 03:32:58 PM

You raise a thought-provoking question! It's true that Bitcoin's original vision was to revolutionize the way we think about money, making it decentralized, accessible, and free from institutional control. But, as with any disruptive technology, its evolution has been shaped by the community's diverse needs and interests.

While some people still use Bitcoin for its intended purpose, others see its potential as a store of value, most especially a hedge against inflation, and thus is very true in third world countries.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying/Selling & Using Bitcoin in El Salvador. on: March 10, 2024, 02:02:27 AM
Ofcourse there has been some rumors about Btc being used and accepted for day to day regular transactions in El salvador and Some persons have reportedly said to have successfully done buying and selling  transactions using Btc at the ATMs, boutiques, Bars, restaurants, shops name them...But we cannot ignore the fact that the implementation of Btc as means for daily transactions might not be seamless for everyone, like it can't be really accessible to everyone especially persons who have no idea how Btc works and how to manage a wallet and all other things about Bitcoin, this is one of the many factors that may influence the practicality of using Bitcoin in daily transactions....
While my opinion here is based on facts and research,It is advisable to gather recent informations yourself from reliable and direct sources especially individuals with real life experiences.
6  Economy / Services / Re: Roobet.com | Art Contest "Yeti Cash Dash" | $5000 up for grabs! | Ends Oct. 20th on: October 25, 2023, 05:55:08 AM
Wow, so many nice contest on the forum. This is one one the best I've seen so far. It very amazing seeing a lot of people working so hard to earn a spot amongst the winners. Congratulations to you all. I hope to join the next one 😁. I had a taught in mind for @ Hhampuz, wouldn't it be nice to display the amount each winners were awarded close to their positions on the contest. That because I read somewhere that everything here on Bitcointalk is opened and nothing is hidden. That made me so curious to know how much each contestants were awarded.
7  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk telegram bots giving fake count on merits on: September 30, 2023, 07:41:56 PM
I guess it might be an error which is common which most telegram bots. But this is nothing to worry about. I only noticed that I couldn't receive some notifications today on my telegram bot. But maybe it was a cause of bad network. As regards your issue, I would advice you to reset or rather delete your bot and add it up again as a fresh start. This might help solve your issue.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will Bitcoin be accepted as a dominant currency in the future? on: September 30, 2023, 03:25:58 PM
It is captivating for us all to witness the evolution of a DDC (decentralized digital currency) that has the ability and potential to change the financial world forever but there is a question that needs to be tabled properly for the purpose of awareness and well preparedness for the future and that is "is it possible for BTC to be accepted and adopted as a dominant currency in the nearest future".

We have all watched how both small scale and large scale businesses have started to accept the idea of bitcoin as a form of payment for good and services. Now the big major companies these days like TESLA for example are making big transactions with bitcoin making btc look viable and acceptable for exchange even in the future and we all know that this is only possible because they find it more easy and secure for their digital transactions with low transaction fee compared to the normal bank transaction system. But then how can we ignore that bitcoins journey towards being dominant means of transactions Is faced with challenges such as concern on price volatility. That aside several countries are still trying to steer how to regulate the cryptocurrencies and these actions can crucially impact the value/utility of BTC, well this is what i think.🤷‍♀️
What is your opinion on this topic?
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin always fight back on: September 29, 2023, 10:12:23 PM
Good to know that your Bitcoin investments are doing well, congrats on that, i'll say the same to myself too, as mine brings me joy as well but it's important to know that crypto market is very unpredictable and is bound to face challenges in the future as well. so there are no 100% guarantees of anything that will happen in the nearest or far future, therefore my advise to everyone is we should all tread carefully and trade wisely.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency enlightenment and development. on: September 29, 2023, 09:32:59 PM
Ofcourse,Crypto has made transactions more secure and faster, it has modernised and redefined money, making  transfering and receiving money untraceable, private and anonymous.

It is indeed a very beneficial technology to millions of people around the world.

And yes, definitely more will be done in the nearest future as i know that the development of the cryptocurrency technology is not limited to what we have now, it has only just began.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency enlightenment and development. on: September 29, 2023, 08:41:58 PM
Well,It is known that so many people today have taken and accepted that crypto is an alternative form of paying , earning and investing and this is very very true as Crypto is not controlled by the government and banks of the country, it gives more privacy to millions of transactions world wide without interference, it is secure and all transactions can be done with little cost and just mobile data and transactions can be made across the world to different countries.it is a wonderful discovery  Like i said when someone posted about how safe it is compared to banks<< it is by far safer than banks against hacking and forceful withdrawal of anykind like robbery honestly.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria continuous banning of crypto on: September 29, 2023, 03:31:17 PM
I'll just have to say this as much it hurts me to say what i know, adding crypto keywords and alerting the banks to block accounts is just a dementing behaviour and it is as a result of the kind of people the Nigerian government has on seats Sad

There is nothing in the nigerian government that interests me anymore, their constant interest in depreciating the systems that run the country and run in the country is very much disheartening.

People keep asking when will the country change and grow from all these and i will beat my hand on my chest while placing the other on my head in awe that change will come but in a longtime, what will they gain from banning and blocking accounts really? Smh Angry
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking scams ...How are Bitcoin better? on: September 29, 2023, 02:49:58 PM
Honestly bitcoin is way better than banks, know of someone whose account was hacked and a whole sum of 68million was removed from the person's account.

You don't expect a basic thief or a basic bank hacker to have the mindset that the person they are about to steal from has everything in bitcoin, most of them only know of bank savings.

I understand that a person can be forced and obtained of their secret pass phrase by a robber but that would be 1 robbery case out of 500 cases. It is still very rare for it to occur.

So bitcoin is still the best, it is the last thing any thief will want to think of.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is life on: September 29, 2023, 01:34:50 PM
It all depends on the idea anyone has in their head as to what gambling really means, some see any situation that has to do with giving money out to get money back as gambling while some see gambling as giving money out in  hopes to get money, to me they are all thinking the same thing just in their own different ways.

Which ever way they say it, so long you have to give money to get money it can be seen as gambling.

Just that it is not the type of gambling that low thinking minded persons think it is, when i say low thinking minded persons, i mean those who only know very little about bitcoin and how it works and so they tend to compare it to betting, casinos and all other kinds of gambling.

Like i said before, they are all right it just depends on how much the person knows about the words bitcoin and gambling.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hate speech and it impacts on bitcoin on: September 29, 2023, 01:21:53 PM
It is very normal for the government to be against bitcoin and to protest against it so it can be shutdown in their country. There has been so many hate speeches overtime by the government. as they cannot have total control of it, they are just looking for ways to bring it down.

Whatever they say or do will not change or stop anything in the bitcoin world, simple.
16  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Issue with Exodus app on mobile phone (android) on: September 29, 2023, 12:56:18 PM
I will advice you create a temporary wallet on another device that is trusted and transfer all your crypto , make sure you don't loose your 12 words recovery phrase, then go back to your phone and factory reset it so it can function properly, install a new exodus app and login again with your secret phrase then you can transfer all your assets/crypto back.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If only property I have is bitcoin on: September 29, 2023, 11:38:29 AM
It is very normal to be afraid of telling family members about your investments to avoid it being stolen which might lead to a family feud but then it is okay to let them have an idea of what you do and how you save your source of income. You don't necessarily have to give them the entire details just an idea. Also documentation also matters, in as much as you don't want anyone to know how much you have while you are alive, you definitely want them to have a share each incase unforseen circumstances occur, so document every little detail as much as you can.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does cryptocurrency actually solve any problems? on: July 31, 2023, 04:54:34 AM
To sum everything up, cryptocurrency most especially Bitcoin is here to solve our financial problems. So have it in mind that Bitcoin is an alternate to our traditional financial system and not all problems it can solve for your. It cants solve your physical problems okay
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: My poem on: June 30, 2023, 03:53:14 PM
Weldone mate, I appreciate and appluad your creativity in crafting your poem. It serves as a reminder of the excitement and potential of the crypto revolution and also sees the need for a wise and secure network. ''The Blockchain''

But amidst the excitement and joy, caution is wise,
For scams and hacks lurk  cleverly in disguise.
Secure your wallets, and guard your keys ,
Or risk losing it all ? for that shall be  a crypto nightmare!

I guess that should be the part I love the most. It's definitely a nightmare, when you wake up and find out that all your assets have been stolen by the so called scammers. So we all have to keep our keys safe and be careful where you login to on the internet.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early Bitcoin Transaction Fees on: June 05, 2023, 05:05:05 PM
I wasn't really a user of Bitcoin until recently, but  from my research, transaction fees were not actually compulsory and you could actually do transaction without including fee. It only recently became necessary to make sure transaction were concluded on time.
As of Laszlo hanyecz, there was no mention, weather the transaction fee was included.

Also, has the maximum number of transactions per day always been 100?

The maximum number of transaction, has actually evolved over time and was not always 100. It was primarily dependent on the networks capacity and number of participants using the Bitcoin network at that specific time.
