Already exists ETC... Ethereum Classic can be in my opinion a re-ethereum pow based. (And only if the price goes up)
Even if there is ETC, there is room for new tokens with new possibilities and distribution schedule. ETC hasn't done a lot of things since the breakup, just ASICs miners loading massive amount of tokens.
If there is significant innovation, then it will be even better.
