1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 26, 2024, 08:01:50 PM
Are we seeing another night of draws? Four matches on including Hellas Verona vs Inter Milan, Lazio vs Sassuolo and Empoli vs Roma, all playing draw as at 54th minute of the match. If this end this way, gamblers might not be so happy because many people expected Lazio to at least win this important match for them. Inter Milan playing draw at away is understandable, same as Roma who is playing Empoli thar see the match as crucial. I hope the Italian Serie A will be a little easier to predict next season because I have already given up this season.

2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Input from community on transfer fees on: May 25, 2024, 04:18:22 PM
Hi all, newbie to the forums here.  Grin
I've been in Crypto for four years, but I've recently seen the light on BTC.
(wish it had been sooner!)
Anyhow, here's my dilema: I've been slowly accumulating Satoshis this year, and I also bought a cold storage wallet recently.  I tried today to move a small amount of BTC to the wallet as a "test" transaction to insure it went to the designated wallet, but the fee was a lot of money in my opinion.

Should I just send everything and hope it gets there?
Or wait until the fees go down (will they go down? I'm using CDC as the custodial exchange atm.)
Normally, I always do a test transfer on new wallets, but the fee is almost the same amount I bought this week!..
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts & ideas...
The transaction fee at the moment is one of the best we have seen in recent times. If you have been around during the time that the mempool was congested due to the Ordinal attack, you would have been happy seeing the fee as lows as it is now. So, I wouldn't want you to continue waiting and hoping that the fee will come down because it is already down.

Since it is the first transaction to the wallet, I think it is better you send small amount to test if everything work smoothly before you send the rest BTC. This will save you the pain of realising you made a mistake in any of the stages. If you are using CEX to collect your Bitcoin, you can withdraw monthly or thereabout instead of regularly, this will help you reduce the fees.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How you trade in uncertain times? on: May 25, 2024, 04:08:15 PM
We all know how volatile the market is right now especially since we are still near the all-time high. With sudden price swings and unpredictable trends, traders need to be ready with some strategies.
So, what strategies can you advise especially in protecting our capital, some technical analysis strategies? OR some diversification tactics between stablecoins, bitcoin, or altcoins?

Share some of your experiences or tips on effectively trading in these uncertain times.
I'm generally a long term holder, not really worried by price fluctuations but if I have to dabble into short term trading with some spared funds, I will consider looking at the range that price has hit the most in recent times which in this case is between $60k to $70k. I will be willing to buy anywhere  near $60k and sell around $70k. The plan will be to continue this until the range have been broken then other trading opportunities can be explored.

The market have shown serious reluctance to test the ATH, this is the reason price is always dropping back into the range whenever it crosses the $70k region. The market is probably building momentum and this will take a long time before we see any massive move above this range.

FA CUP FINAL

MANCHESTER CITY VS MANCHESTER UNITED

~~
Here we are talking about final and i don't see Manchester City losing any chances of winning this trophy and again this is Erik Ten Hag last match which he will like to prove himself, who is going to win at WEMBLEY for today's game, Manchester city are in high performance which have won Manchester United three times in their previous matches.
Hope you are watching the beautiful Red Devils dishing out their evil deeds against the Citizens? Next time you will have to remember how a wounded lion fight! Against popular opinion, Manchester City is being humiliated by the least expected club, a team Pep Guardiola will never blink an eye about beating. I'm not a Manchester United supporter but for the very idea of equity and fairness, let them win this trophy. I know my stand will also be that of football lovers all over the world except some envious supporters of other teams that want everyone else to fail since they also failed at winning a trophy.

I'm happier that I was able to resist the temptation of adding this match to my selection because I suspected what is happening now... instead of any drama, I decided to consider other matches in my betting. Let's see if their is any magic Pep Guardiola can use to recover from the 0:2 trail against Manchester United as at the 50th minute.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: May 25, 2024, 10:25:40 AM
Gambling can be one's hobby, but the person should know the difference between hobby and addiction. As money is involved with gambling, the same could easily cause addiction. Some people analyse different games, which is good because they set the limit and explore different games with the funds and try to figure out the best. This is fair, and they won't prioritise this as a way of making money or as a source of income. They just keep on experimenting and giving reviews. Apart from that, anyone can have gambling as a hobby, but it is like rich people's entertainment hobby, as they don't care about the money spent. All they want is pleasure and to enjoy the moment.
Hobby is what makes an individual  happy and relaxed so I'm still doubting that gambling can be a hobby because it does not make the individual happy all the time. Losses are inherent in gambling and when they occur, the individual will definitely feel bad irrespective of the level of risk management employed.

I'm even tempted to think that anyone who have successfully made gambling a hobby is likely addicted without even knowing it. I see gambling from angle of business, so I treat it with the seriousness it deserve not that if I don't gamble I will feel incomplete... that is pure addiction. Many people are addicted to gambling without knowing. They only deny it because they are able to remain civil and not displaying negative characters, this is how they manage to convince themselves that they are not addicted even though they cannot go a day without gambling.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin reach another new ATH before the bull run begins? on: May 25, 2024, 05:53:04 AM
To set the record straight, we are already in bull run since late last year when Bitcoin left the "don't wake me up region". It started earlier than expected due to the ETF approval which happened in January this year. If you are referring to the bull run that is expected to be induced by the Bitcoin halving event, then it might still be expected but then the caption of your post will become confusing because anything that leads to a new ATH is the anticipated halving propelled bull run.

From the records, Bitcoin does not surge immediately the halving occurs; it takes some time before the effect of the halving is felt in terms of supply shortage which is the imbalance that leads to rapid rise in price. Going by this sequence, we are expecting the price to peak by next year. In other words, the rise might start later this year, eat up the present ATH and then peak by next year. These are projections that are not cast in stone, so market will do what it wants.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 24, 2024, 09:17:47 PM
Girona did exactly what I expected from them which is mercilessly beating Granada using their home advantage and their goal scoring prowess. Despite that this win does not mean anything for them since they are already bound to remain in third position, the match gave them the opportunity to score as many goals as they possibly can. A match ending 7:0 with all their major scorers, including Artem Dovbyk scoring hat trick and Eric Garcia registering a goal should indeed be celebrated as a good match. On the part of Granada, the loss does not really matter much to them as they have already been relegated alongside Cadiz and UD Almeria... so "he that is down need fear no fall".

I am looking forward to Real Madrid against Real Betis, a match I expect the former to win to seal the season in victory. There should be no excuse as to why Madrid will fail to deliver, not even the Champions League final will deter them from collecting the 3 points.
8  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Tradding Vs Saving, which is the safest way to build crypto holdings on: May 24, 2024, 07:50:31 AM
This discussion don tey for this forum but e be like na this one be the first time e dey come out as topic so e go good make we treat one once and for all. E no get any direct answer wey fit come out from this matter because every answer depend on the person involved, wetin him know and wetin him wan achieve. But we gat put average so we fit give the discussion direction. So, make we take person wey get experience for trading and also for holding Bitcoin, for this one, me believe holding sure pass. Na base on the following points I take draw my conclusion:
  • Trading require plenty knowledge meanwhile holding just require basic knowledge
  • The risk untop trading tie wrapper, meanwhile holding no really get plenty risk
  • When you dey trade you fit dey get poorer as time dey go but if you dey hold, you dey get richer with time... na why many traders live in regrets today
  • Trading require plenty time to look chat and also implement but holding na cool something wey no go waste your time

I believe say these reasons them dey enough why I saw holding take better trading. People wey no agree with me should bring their reason too make we dey see, all of us dey here to learn.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: May 23, 2024, 07:43:50 PM
Another profitable night for me base on what I play in the SPL which is two separate bets of over2.5 and over3.5 for both Al Hilaal and Al Nassr. So far, the first bet have delivered as Al Hilaal has delivered with current score being 3:1 while Al Nassr match is at a score of 2:1. Now I'm waiting for just a goal in the match between Al Riyadh vs Al Nassr for me to smile to the bank. My only worry now is if there will be additional goal in the Al Nassr match because they received a red card, of which their attacking might have been impacted.

For a long time now I have been playing this pattern in several leagues and the win rate is over 60%. The only burden is in choosing the teams to play across the leagues... a task I did earlier in the season. Sometimes I get a combined odd of 2.3 in the over2.5 combination and 3.8 odds in the over3.5 combination. The amount to bet per slip is arranged in such a way that the over2.5 option is staked with higher amount so that even if it is the only option that delivered, I will be in good profit. My target is to win both bets and any week they deliver is a huge win for me.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do to get merit reward? on: May 23, 2024, 06:47:15 PM
Hello everyone, I have been here for a few weeks/months now but I'm yet to receive "merit" so I'm just worried
Why are you desperate to get merit? You can be here for years and you won’t receive merit, and you can create account today and you will receive merit today. It’s not about how long you stay on the forum here, it’s about the quality of the post you are making, how useful the information which you are passing is. Anyone that finds your post useful will merit you, and I don’t know why you are worried because you haven’t received merit, hope you know merit won’t stop you from posting on the forum here, so there is nothing to be worried about.
If you join a new school and everyone is being cheered for doing something significant and you stayed for months and not even noticed let alone receive a cheer, trust me you will feel so bad as though you are a terrible person. In such situation, it behold on you to ask questions and inquire about what you are not doing correctly or what you have to do to be in tandem with your contemporaries. This is not by any way called desperation but just being inquisitive. As long as merit is a measure of post quality in the forum, it will always feel good when one receives it as; it shows that the user is making meaningful contribution. Even though I will not encourage anyone to post simply because you want to earn merit rather posts should be made to join discussion in the group, learn and contribute meaningfully so that merit should only be a product of such contribution.

What I will advice the OP is never to struggle to impress the users instead be yourself and appreciate your level of understanding of Bitcoin and the underlying technology. Make conscious effort to learn and keep growing in knowledge because every other reward you will receive is a product of knowledge.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now that Bitcoin halving have been completed, what next? on: May 23, 2024, 12:25:39 PM
Bitcoin halving occurs every four years in Bitcoin history. We may be witnessing the fourth Bitcoin halving this year. Bitcoin halving is already complete due to which many people in the forum are exchanging wishes for the 4th Bitcoin halving among all Bitcoin lovers. Whenever Bitcoin halving is organized the block reward for miners is reduced by 50% i.e. halved.

It is not yet clear to us where the price of Bitcoin will go after the Bitcoin Halving because the Bitcoin Halving has just been completed. Not even a day has passed since bitcoin halving is organized so maybe we should be a little patient and focus on the market.

Already but day by day the popularity of Bitcoin is increasing and most people are willing to invest in Bitcoin or choose Bitcoin. Bitcoin has now become the focus of people's demand as the price of Bitcoin has increased exponentially. I think that as long as cryptocurrencies exist, Bitcoin's popularity will spread much more globally and people will involve themselves in Bitcoin much more.

Everyone is positive about bitcoin halving everyone thinks that we will see an upward trend in the market after bitcoin halving.
Are there any specific strategies you recommend for investors to navigate the potential market changes post-halving?
The best strategy anyone can suggest for you is to adopt a wholistic approach in Bitcoin investment. By wholistic I mean, an approach that will enable you never to run out of Bitcoin irrespective of the market condition. One way of doing this is to use a Bitcoin buying strategy called Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA). This method entails buying fixed amount of Bitcoin at a regular interval over a period of time. The amount committed to the DCA method is usually very small so that it does not put the investor into any financial stress that can force them to sell when they do not plan to. In other words, when buying through the DCA method, the investor is not in a hurry to sell and they can hold it for decades because they are buying with small amount that will not affect their financial planning so much. I support and use the DCA method is because I do not plan to sell during this bull market as my selling is strictly based on needs.

So, after the halving, my plan is to continue buying using the DCA method because Bitcoin is still far from where I expect it to be. The halving will bring a shortage in supply and by simple economics, reduction in supply means there will be higher demand(increase in price). This means that the price of Bitcoin will continue to rise as Bitcoin experiences more halvings in the future.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: May 23, 2024, 10:15:40 AM
I didn't understand anything from the Leverkusen game this evening. Atalanta made them look very ordinary. Atalanta acted like Leverkusen wouldn't score even one goal in the full 90 minutes. Atalanta is an Italian force with an attacking style that isn't typical for Italian teams. Imagine beating Liverpool at Anfield easily. Bayer Leverkusen was prepared for Atalanta FC but wasn't ready for Lookman, who saw through their defense.Leverkusen's charm has ended; they only performed well in the Bundesliga. I think Xabi Alonso became complacent. How can he start with six defenders, four midfielders, and no forwards? This was a tough lesson for Alonso from an Italian expert, and it will benefit him in the future. Congratulations to Atalanta FC.

Alonso ended the season with a defeat in the final, I said that the final is always a special match. And Atalanta showed that they are capable of beating both Liverpool and Bayer, and these victories were so convincing that there was no doubt who was stronger. And Atalanta became the team that broke Bayer's record. Bayer was lucky several times during the playoffs, but this did not happen in the match with Atalanta, I had a feeling that Bayer would have a difficult time in the final...
The match actually have some historic significance as I have come to learn. First, it marked the first major trophy of Gian Piero Gasperini in his coaching career. Second, it marked the first defeat of Xabi Alonso and Bayern Leverkusen in all competitions this season. If these are not historic enough, then I don't seem to know what will qualify as historic.

From the beginning of the match until the end, the German side were outplayed and reduced to an ordinary team, far from the champions that humiliated giants like Bayern Munic and As Roma. In the usual football fans banters, Bayern Leverkusen players were taunted to have had too much beer in the celebration of their Bundesliga trophy celebration, the reason they couldn't play well as expected. Well, that is the fun of the game.... there will always be a winner.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: May 22, 2024, 07:41:48 PM
Against the expectations of many, the Europa League final is going in favour of Atalanta. The Nigerian international, Ademola Lookman have become a nightmare to Bayern Leverkusen following his two early goals. Now Leverkusen is two goals down and still facing serious pressure from Atalanta. Perhaps they understand the importance of remaining resolute until the end.

We know Bayern Leverkusen to be good at come backs, the reason many people are saying that they are winning by luck. Let's see if the luck is enough to change the situation for them tonight. Let's use this match to know if it is luck or their skill that is giving them the magical wins they have been enjoying.
14  Other / Meta / Re: Can I participate in Bitcoin Pizza Day? on: May 21, 2024, 04:25:52 PM
Here, I am more excited that someone named Lazlo bought only two pizzas with a $10,000 payment. This is a surprising phenomenon. The price of BTC is skyrocketing now, but when the pizza was purchased, it was very cheap.
Just a minor correction,  he actually bought two pizzas for 10,000BTC and not $10,000. By todays price, that is $709,000,000. This represents the first time Bitcoin was exchanged for a commodity, hence the reason it is celebrated by all lovers of Bitcoin.

I guess you already got the response about your eligibility from @Icopress, if it is fine by you, then you can give it a shot let's see what you've got.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 21, 2024, 03:45:55 PM
I have tried this before, when I didn't know much about some principles of gambling and I cannot remember any single time I won when I gamble with borrowed funds. Long before now, I have stopped borrowing to gamble because it didn't favor me. To remain profitable in gambling, one should be able to separate what works for him and what doesn't.

Surprisingly, what I have noticed is that when I have so much money in my system, the desperation to win naturally go away and that is when I make good money from gambling. Is there really anything like the more you have, the easier more will be added to your wealth? This seems to be the principle that works for me. I will very much love to know if there is anyone having this kind of experience too.
16  Other / Meta / Re: Why not temporary ban coinmapai199264? on: May 21, 2024, 03:16:45 PM
He is a newbie, probably excited being in a forum like this. It is up to the forum users to call him to order and guide him on how to properly participate in the discussion here. Maybe the mods are giving him the opportunity of getting assistance from member of the forums and not dishing out judgement for something probably done in ignorance (although he was supposed to read the forum rules first).

I can tell with certainty that if that user continue in that habit, he will be nuked sooner than later because there is no guarantee that the mods will be this patient everyday.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If this is doable what will you add or remove? on: May 21, 2024, 02:53:53 PM
If possible and a proposal accepted to not let the memepool to be higher than 10 sat/vbyte and almost all the time staying at 1 sat/vbyte. This would be what I will first prefer to do, making bitcoin transaction fee to the low almost all the time. This should be done in a way that those bitcoin tokens will not even affect it.
I agree with you because high transaction fees is one of the key factor militating against bitcoin adoption in many spheres. The few days Bitcoin transaction fee remained very low have been very exciting for people to continue their transaction without the pain of paying stupendous fees for minor business transactions. If there is any way to keep the fee very low, that will really encourage more Bitcoin adoption in businesses.

The challenge of this will only be if mining will be profitable because  setting a limit for memepool might require adjusting the mining difficulty in order to keep the business profitable.

19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 21, 2024, 01:43:52 AM
It is truly a great thing for such a young coach to become such an undefeated champion. He has done a great job with his career, becoming even more popular than when he was a football player. If the team continues to stay like this, they will be a great candidate to be the best team in the world for many years to come.
Bayern, the long-standing Bundesliga champion, has now lost this season Cheesy
I say his job is now finished, even though he still has 2 more matches to play, and both of them are finals which will really determine whether they become champions or not.
They are already champion after winning the German Bundesliga. Each of the remaining two matches will make them champions in different categories as they are different competitions. So it is wrong to say they will become champions after they win the next finals. Maybe you are saying that the German Bundesliga trophy is not worthy of a trophy?

I want to see them next season, whether Xabi can be consistent with what he showed this season, or vice versa. they will be in the Champions League, and that's what I'm waiting for, because there they will have tougher opponents, because the Champions League is the place for the best teams this season and they will be there.
Next season will really be a major test for him because people will want to see if it was really their skill or mere luck that earned them the prestigious reputation this season. I actually believe that it was luck that brought them this far because they are not the only team with access to luck. They played well and were prepared for the years assignment. Lucky might play a part but very little can be attributed to luck.

What I expect next year is for them to maintain this winning tempo even up to the point they will start playing big names in the Champions League. If they are defeated one or two times, they might slow down a little because that will weaken their morale.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC staying above $67,000, will it reach all time high? on: May 20, 2024, 11:04:53 PM
The recent energy of the market is showing that a new ATH will be created soon. Bitcoin tested $70k today which represent 8% increase in 24hrs. Just that it is impossible to know when it will happen because Bitcoin might decide to retrace from this point for weeks before continuing the upward movement. This is the reason I do not worry so much about when the price will get to a certain point rather I try to take advantage of every buying opportunity the market offers.

So basically Bitcoin could go up or down. Great analysis haha
Those self pro called professional traders or economist always been like this, they said when the price crossed x, it will pump to y and when the price down to x, y will be the bottom. Anyone, without need to have a degree or approved by a lot people, can predict like that.
Ever since I stopped listening to those analysts, my peace of mind greatly improved. All they spread is fear and uncertainties which is not good for any investor that want to hodl. Most of them are day traders or short term investors, that is why they worry about the top and bottom because they want to buy low and sell high.
