1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction fee $917 on: April 20, 2024, 10:12:36 PM
i know this is good to miners reward
but not to users Cry
i want to know what cause this skyrocket in fee after halving 840000

Like the price, sometimes you have to anticipate this type of situation, Fee, it was known that there would be an increase, it was 100% feasible, what we had no idea was how much the sat/vB fee increase.
2  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Kucoin in trouble? on: April 02, 2024, 05:19:45 PM
I think the idea is to always stay alert that any exchange can have problems, so it's just to be careful that this is possible, so that you don't have that mistaken idea of the user mentioned below.

A lot easier to sell when my crypto is already on the exchange but of course that comes with risk.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: how to survive inflation and economy hardship on: April 02, 2024, 05:10:31 PM
Inflation is a poorly focused problem, low salaries, or an income not in line with your consumption, does not mean inflation, it is a phenomenon that, like the climate, affects everyone, there are no social characteristics or economic that are immune to inflation.

Therefore, the first thing to understand is the percentage of inflation that affects your country, there are "normal" percentages, others fluctuate, and the worst of all is the one where you live with an inflationary economy. In any of them, as a citizen you cannot do anything to change these situations, governments and private companies must do them, that is a priority, since that is where you can begin to take basic ideas to face price changes.
4  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: More than 10 phishing wallets detected on the Snap Store, be careful on: April 02, 2024, 03:44:44 PM
Quote
Always have a decoy wallet, in this wallet you must reserve a amount that you are willing to lose (something like US$3 ~ 50) when testing a new wallet just downloaded, you enter this test decoy seedphrase, after all, these fake wallets usually have a malicious code to drain wallets immediately as soon as a wallet with amount is imported, so if your decoy wallet is drained, you will know right away that it is a scam wallet.

Should we use our funds to test for fake or malicious wallet? The points you stated above may be right to some extent but to be frank, you have to make sure you are downloading these wallets apps from the right source, which everyone knows as their official web. Play store, can no longer be trusted so even if you are downloading from Google Play store or other official stores, you should make sure that the website redirects you there. Don't click unknown links to download so as to avoid downloading Trojans or malicious apps.
This way, you don't have to test the authenticity of the wallet with your funds or having to try a decoy just as you stated in your op.

Obviously for someone with experience it sounds unnecessary, but most people don't even understand why an App is in the store, so for the average user, they only know how to go to their app store and download. What is clear is that if you download an App to store money you should follow a security guide. Any Wallet, even a HW, can be compromised. If you use trust as a basis for downloading any software, you are making the first mistake, even if you download a wallet from the same website and follow any of the steps mentioned. Then, testing a wallet with $100 does not offend my knowledge, it strengthens my distrust.

6  Local / Español (Spanish) / Qué tal esta noticia. El consumo Aumenta a 2%. on: February 04, 2024, 04:10:42 AM

What exactly is bitcoin mining doing to the electric grid? In the last few years, the US has seen a boom in cryptocurrency mining, and the government is now trying to track exactly what that means for the consumption of electricity. While its analysis is preliminary, the Energy Information Agency (EIA) estimates that large-scale cryptocurrency operations are now consuming over 2 percent of the US's electricity. That's roughly the equivalent of having added an additional state to the grid over just the last three years.

8  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Using QR codes as Bitcoin address protection on: February 04, 2024, 03:22:33 AM
I curious to know does this also have a negative effect on quick response codes generated by exchanges. I mean are the QR codes generated by exchanges safe for transactions? And how do they generate there own codes.

The visual verification never fails, so when you copy or use QR simply verify it before sending. I would never use a QR by message or on a website to receive payments.

QR codes have disadvantages in phishing, since victims need to be compelled to scan them for the attack to progress. But they make it more difficult for victims to evaluate the trustworthiness of the URL they’re clicking on, and it’s more likely that emails containing a QR code will reach their target, because it’s more difficult for spam filters to assess QR images included in an attachment like a PDF...

9  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Send requiring co-signer after update? on: February 04, 2024, 02:53:04 AM
I've used an Android electrum wallet forever and accidentally updated it (version 4.5.1). Now I have no idea how to send funds. It partially signs and requests a co-signer and I cannot get past this point. I don't see any documentation addressing this so I'm sure it's something I'm overlooking but I'm wasting a ton of time and hoping someone can just point me in the right direction.

It was not an accident the update, it occurs automatically and happened on January 19, 2024, in effect you have the  last version 4.5.1, So, check that you have version 6 of android or higher.

If it is not the above, Uninstall it and directly download the new version (play store) and check the APP permits. Verify that it in effect has the correct version and that it corresponds. Take the corresponding forecasts since it may be putting your btc at risk.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Numerology +WTF on: February 04, 2024, 02:29:18 AM
Use numerology where appropriate, you've reached the place where you thought you could see results, but it didn't work, I think it's an off-topic, the coincidence of numbers or results, they only serve as they should be: reliables, random result or fake. It may be fun, but it has no serious discussion on Bitcoin.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: February 04, 2024, 01:59:23 AM
I think that 2+2=4, right? there are things that just happen, you have to teach that, that is: you have to support your investments, sometimes I think that many discover trivial things and see them as if they were something scientific.
12  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: A Non-Custodial wallet, Atomic Wallet, being compromised on: December 17, 2023, 08:24:09 PM
You're absolutely right, but it's not the idea to say I'm not interested, the collective interest is necessary for the support of the entire crypto ecosystem, a response to what happened has to be demanded, That allows support for the crypto environment, entrepreneurs, and end-users.

15  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Atascado! no, ¿atascado? si, no confirmado. on: December 07, 2023, 12:29:57 AM

20  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Tomorrow you wake up, You got 50000$ in your hand. What will you do? on: November 08, 2023, 05:49:15 PM
if this is the case, it means that I am doing something right, and then I would only think about continuing to do the same thing, I would repeat everything I did the day before, starting with a redbull.
In serious discussion, the reality here is to think why don't you generate money while you sleep, so that when you wake up you will see a $1 in your account, that you didn't have before.
