What ever happened to merge mining with that other Lyra2 coin ?

Merge mining is another crypto fad that seems to have run its course.

Like litecoin and doge coin ?

i would like someone to give me reasons to invest in this coin plz.

i like how it has a low number of coins

Merge mining with vert would bring some more attention to this coin , it wouldn't kill it . Look at doge coin , it's still very popular and has its of people who don't dump it . It's a better alternative than letting this coins die .

Everyone knows the perfect scenario is to buy when price is low... then sit back and cash out when you see the price high.

Vertcoin is a good coin and at this price I would be a fool not to buy some to hold onto.

This coin is an oldie but goodie!   Smiley Smiley

What ever happened to merge mining with that other Lyra2 coin ?

Why should you buy any coin then ?
Now thats a question everybody should answer for themselves, dont you think?
I buy, because I want to support an idea.
You buy, because you want to make millions of dolla dolla bills, i guess...

Yet you're in a vertcoin sub saying people should buy the coin .

wow, bittrex wants to delist VTC Sad very sad. Do the devs know it? Where are the devs? It was silly to make an own forum. Most investors come over bitcointalk... If there is no traffic we won't see any volume. Why should anybody buy VTC atm. It is cheap, okay, but it has only little potential I think. It was such a great coin once. $2 per VTC... and now...look at it. 5121 sat.

Hope elasticity will bring change
Yea, man, I am sure you liked the coin more when it had a higher price, you dont need to tell us this, we are well aware.
Also, don't freak out and don't shout 'DEVS DEVS'. Its a damn exchange, not the end of the world.

While you are at it, you can also leave behind the "investors" crap, because we had enough of it as well. The investors this, the investors that, we know it all. "Investors" never helped anybody, except for pumpers, dumpers ponzis and shitcoins. Actually, the "Investors" are the people that fucked so many good coins, that I cant even count them anymore.

As for your precious bitcointalk, the kind of attention that this forum attracts is, in most cases, unwanted. Nothing good comes out of here, if you stay long enough the "community" always bites your ass. The more alternatives the Vert community has - the better.

And now for the $10 000 question - why should you buy Vertcoin? And the answer is - you shouldn't. It would be great if you sell as many as you can. The more you sell, the less we have to fear from people that know only charts and prices.

I, for one, hope elasticity doesn't fuck up the coin supply too much.

Why should you buy any coin then ?

This is a relatively new market concept. Bottom line is that no one here can claim that a coin will go one way or another with complete certainty.  At best it can be based on a gut feeling. Comparing one coin to another may give us an idea, but it is by no means a guidebook.  Personally I can see the benefits of LYB merge mining and its supply making this coin worth $10 a piece. Once merge mining happens it will give this coin the exposure it needs.

Not really that new . Bitcoin did it a while back

Do you have any idea how old the stock market is?

Yes , but we aren't talking about the stock market. You can't mine the nasdaq .

And eventually you wont be able to mine most of these coins. Even if they survive for the next 100 years. Our children and grand children will look at a mining concept and wonder what the heck we were thinking. Many coins go to POS or some other transitional stage.

Ok, but the point is you could never mine stocks .

When is merged mining with vert happening ? It'll help both coins

Yea if you can pull that off I could see LYR hitting $10 each.
Merged mining with vert killed LYR Sad

First off, the coin is LYB, if you actually had the coin you would probably know that.

Second, there is no way merge mining killed it because it is not yet merge mineable.

FUD crushed.

Exactly. What kind of logic is that anyways ? Dogecoin was saved by merging with litecoin . Merge mining doesn't kill coins it helps them .

Yea... no.
Previous experience shows that merged mining drives the price down... and when you think of it, its completely logical.
With coins like Lyrabar (and Vertcoin tbh) the price is not really driven by supply and demand, its mostly driven by supply only (thats exaggerated of course, but you get the meaning). Each coin is worth exactly as much as the miner that minted it is ready to sell it for. Now if you give this miner 2 coins instead of one, sooner or later the price of both coins will, again, be equal to approximately the same amount.

But then again, price is not the thing you should be primarily interested in, now, is it? Merged mining brings a lot to the table, it gives you wider adoption, more centralization, bigger and better distribution, network security, it gives you free advertisement, a happier community and many many other things... but certainly NOT a price bump.

And if any of you thinks that a temporary decrease in price is not worth all of these benefits... well then, it sucks to be you, I guess.

More people would be mining it , thus more demand and less supply .

Dev -We need some news, road map, future milestones
Need to get this on Bittrex and start promoting.

Not getting around the question, but the roadmap and future milestones is in the first post and will be always updated instantly when updates.

The next everyone will see is the services around this coin built up before the merge mining happens.

News will be heard through this thread posts by me, the https://twitter.com/Lyrabar update tweets and the first post this at this point Smiley

Excited about the merge mining with vert. This can't happen soon enough.

Add support for 13 more coins in Coinomi Universal HD Wallet
Coinomi is a very secure and lighweight, universal HD wallet for Android devices, currently supporting 13 coins:

Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Peercoin, Darkcoin, Reddcoin, NuBits, NuShares, Blackcoin, Feathercoin, Rubycoin, Digitalcoin, and Cannacoin.

In return for your support we will double the number of supported coins to 26!

Doesn't look like it supports vertcoin

If you like this coin then you should jump on the vertcoin wagon . Cool things coming.

Dev I think we should start twitter campaign, towards promote lyrabar and lyra2re algo.

I think we shold do that, not dev  Wink This is true community coin, for hobbyists - by hobbyists as they say.
It's not big deal to tweet something about this coin and show some support that way..  Cool

Huh?

What if i told you...

...That Lyra2RE IS FASTER ON A CPU THAN A GPU!

This is my 4770k@4.5Ghz with 6cores  Shocked

More expensive than a gpu though
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lyrabar - Rare bar with Lyra2RE algorithm | Launched, NOW LIVE! on: February 01, 2015, 11:27:51 PM
The algorithm we've chosen is fair for even CPU miners. Everyone will have a chance to get some bars.

If there's no GPUs available, don't fear to try CPU mining.

Make this merge minable.

His miner is probably displaying the wrong numbers, no idea why tho. I'm willing to bet whatever pool he mines on reports closer to 600kh/s per card. With major overoclocking djm said he was able to get 660-670kh/s

My miners must be submitting shares like crazy because the pool I mine at is reporting 5,000-9700 kh/s all day per 6 card 750ti rig
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - 1 | ASIC - 0 | Lyra2RE | Decentralised | GPU Mineable | Open Source on: December 17, 2014, 12:42:37 AM
Ditched X11 with my working GPU rig and now have it mining VTC.

I've got a half dozen more 750ti's that have been gathering dust for months... I might rebuild that rig in the coming days, especially if the news is as good as has been reported when I whip out the kill-o-watt meter tomorrow.

Vertcoin always had the best community and ambition.  The last few months have been trying, but with the hard fork to Lyra2RE, we can start getting excited again.

I'll post power numbers here tomorrow.  AM3+ ASRock boards, Sempron procs, one rig with EVGA cards (running), and another with PNY cards.

The EVGA 750ti's are hashing at 720-725 kh/s each, except one that's stuck at 710-715.

EVGA 750Ti's are factory OC'ed, or more? what clocks?
(I have 690kH/s with Palit StormX Dual, "factory OC" only)

How are you getting 720-725 kh/s out of your 750tis ? I have 36 evga 750tis (using your kopiemtu) and the most I can get is 625 kh/s out of each card
