1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Things to avoid as a beginner on: November 21, 2023, 12:36:08 PM
I would just like to share few points which newbie should always remember and to avoid indulging in these things as mentioned below.

1. Avoid burst posting:
I have seen users making continuous posts without any time gap just to complete their weekly Target for bounty campaigns or even signature campaigns, this can get you flagged and there are chances you will be removed from campaign and be in the spammers list thus eradicating your chances of being a part of further campaigns.
I really don't think this is for a newbie therefore a review on the name of the subject of the post should be considered. Secondly what are the odds that a newbie will be active in participating for a weekly target for a bounty campaign as you put it. Is a newbie suppose to be in any campaign??? Pardon my intrusive and inquisitive question.

2. Trading of merits:
Most of us will receive a random DM by users offering exchange saying they will share a merit to your account from their alternative account and ask you to share merit on their account. Never indulge in this activity as moderators can easily identify it and your account may be blacklisted and sometimes newbie are cheated on this context as there are group who will ask you to pay for merit and end up running away with your money once you pay it.

**Correction** "burst posting"

Apologies

receiving a PM from a random user asking you to pay for merits should be the first sign of a red flag except a person is solely fishing for merit, this shouldn't be of any interest to anyone as merits are earn based on the quality of the content that you've put out for consumption.
2  Other / Meta / Re: Understanding Multiple accounts (newbie) on: November 21, 2023, 11:48:01 AM
The rule are self explanatory so I don't know why you are finding it difficult to comprehend, is just simple when your account is banned all your account that tied to you aren't exempted so they are also ban from the forum even though they don't commit any offense they are automatically ban. Then if you are ban for any reason you are not permitted to go make any other account in this forum if found it would be also be ban automatically for rule violation. So if you own 10 accounts make sure you don't violate any rules with any of them because if 1 account among the 10 is ban is also affects the remaining 9 so treat all with equal rights otherwise your accounts will be ban as well.

from your explanation it means the rule is self contradicting and should be looked into for a rephrase. Because if its not illegal to own multiple accounts then banning all multiple accounts linked to a faulty user should be put in view. The rule can be rephrased to say one account to one user and owning multiple accounts at owners risk. Otherwise this rule is just self contradicting and should be open for review.

I was reading the unofficial list of rule and these caught my attention. Please pardon me if these questions or concerns have been treated before, but I have gone through some other threads and I haven't seen anywhere that this concern was handled.
This was drawn from the list of unofficial rules of the forum.

Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.

There are restrictions when selling accounts and invites for invite-only sites.

My first question is what are the restrictions to selling an accounts???

Quote
Ban evasion ( using or creating accounts while one of your account is banned) is not allowed.

Does this mean that if I have always had two accounts and for any mistake whatsoever like plagiarism. And one of my account is banned, am I not allowed to own any other active accounts??? Let's not forget that it is not illegal or against the rules to own multiple accounts. Are these rules contradicting themselves or are there other hidden criteria to such effects???

If you get banned temporarily or permanently) and create a new account to continue posting/sending PMs, it's considered ban evasion. The only exception is creating a thread in Meta about your ban.

Does this mean all other of my old accounts remains relevant and active despite my initial ban on my other accounts???
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: November 21, 2023, 06:59:19 AM
As ridiculous as it may sound, the truth is that I want to fulfill a dream of building a house with Bitcoin.
My parents took care of me from childhood and they taught me education and they are still trying to teach me education. Father is very old and it is not possible for him to work as he used to, so I myself feel that I should do something. At the moment, if I could somehow earn to help my family or pay for my education, then maybe the pressure on my father would be reduced a lot. I joined Bitcoin to fulfill my dream.

My mother has a dream to build a house, maybe in the future I will have to help her fulfill her dream because my father is spending the money he earns on my education and running the family so at the moment he cannot afford to build a house. I have already gained enough knowledge about trading by being involved with Bitcoin, firstly I want to start my Bitcoin journey through trading, after making some money from trading I plan to invest in Bitcoin for four years. These four years I will hold my investment and also save the money earned from trading or signature campaign for four years so that after four years I can start building the house.

You must pray for me so that I can fulfill my mother's dream.
Seriously am I the only one that sees through this whole story?Huh Everyone has the vision to make their parents proud but I believe you should focus on building yourself and making a path way for yourself. Your parent have done their part in life and training you was their responsibility even though children are saddled with the liability of taking care of them at old age. Finally this looks like a weak way of fishing merits I believe you can do better with your post that's if you do proper research and post on things that are more relevant. For newbies like me this is a very weak move.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I choose Bitcoin on: October 04, 2023, 02:14:20 PM
Yesterday my partner came up with an idea to deposit a good some of money in a fixed deposit account on an online banking platform offering a 13% interest rate, they offered to pay the interest upfront but the initial deposite would be locked in till the exact stipulated time. Though this may sound like a good deal I discouraged him from making this investment for the following reasons.
Firstly with the rate at which the traditional currency in my country is steadily loosing value and the proposed profit and initial deposit might just be valueless at the matured time this deal might be of little or no value.
Secondly these platforms in my opinion cannot be trusted as different reasons can lead to their folding up and shutting down. I understand that life's a risk but some risks are not worth taking.
On the other hand I offered a solution. I asked him to invest in Bitcoin, now even though the price of bitcoin is volatile, in my opinion it is still more profitable to invest in Bitcoin especially for long term investment than in any fixed deposit scheme.
If you were in the position to give financial advice to someone looking for a long term financial investment, what would you advice?...

I have always been confused about crypto currencies and how they work... how they are stabilised and regulated but with the present plight and constant devaluation of my country's currency, it's safe to say I need to learn, practice and own a safer landing, the banking systems are not helping with constant maintenance levies and network issues. I'm aware that there is no perfect place but anywhere with a more better solution is more preferable. Cheers to the beginning of a new journey.

Congratulations you did the right thing, we all wish that there will be more people who would realize the value of Bitcoin as a store of value in times of constant devaluation of their local currency and inflation, but people prefer to have second thoughts because of the bad news they are receiving from mainstream media.

Merited you for your new journey I'm sure it will be a fruitful journey because you have chosen the right path to financial freedom and accepting this new innovation in online payment.

Thank you so much for your kindness and words of encouragement. It's not everyday someone meets a kind person. I appreciate you.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No matter the pressure don't release on: September 21, 2023, 02:10:14 PM
It is very common sometimes when we trade on exchange p2p payment delays,  these delay can be from the buyer's bank or seller bank's.  Many people have lose their money due to this delay of bank network thinking that the problem of the delay is from the network of bank which they will later get their money when the network of their bank becomes good and they go ahead to release the payment because of  evidence of payment that the other trader have sent to show as proof.

I had trade to sell bitcoin in an exchange and I was matched with a buyer, so after he did the bank transaction I was waiting to get bank alert and the amount of money in my account Balance.  We both complained to the exchange customer service to help how to go about the issue and the buyer was asked to submit his statement of account which he did,  he brought evidence of payment that made it looks as if the delay of payment that have not reached me was from me. With every I was still not ready to release the payment it reflect in my account,  this issue last about more than 30 hrs abd and the following day I sent him a message to contact his bank the delay which he said he did.

It wasn't up to 10 minutes after he contacted his bank I received the payment in my account.  If I had release the payment because of the pressure of customer service in the exchange,  the money wouldn't have gotten to me, which the buyer will be nowhere to find to make complains to his bank . Beginners should never make mistakes to release no matter how long it takes for them to receive payment.  Hold on till everything is settled from both sides.
the subject title is very catchy.... sounds erotical... I read through, and as a newbie I'm equipped with a useful information, although this might look like a scam move from the buyer, but many times banks have very poor networks and sometimes some transactions can be reversed back. thank you for sharing.
