Nobody has taken the roll of Virtual Currency incubator.

I like this. It's VeriCombinator.  Grin

If you are talking about competing with Ethereum then you compete with Gavin Wood and Buterin, not an easy task at all :-))

It won't be easy, but we are all men, so there's no need to be intimidated by others' talents.

I'd say the first step to competing with Ethereum is to declare so publicly. Believe me, the Ethereum devs would welcome this. It would also be a bit of a coup publicity-wise for Vericoin.

Like blockchain 2 features, which I have been banging on here for a while. Again, nothing is a certainly winning recipe, saying the blockchain 2 feature would help is speculation as well.

Ethereum needs a competitor. Institutional investors and established technology companies will demand it. Vericoin should declare itself to be the competition. Given Dev3's interest in this area and the soon to be expected frenzy that will seek out blockchain 2.0 apps, this would be a smart move.

Try reading the rest of my post instead of cherry picking quotes. My point was this is exactly why Vericoin should be positioning as mainstream digital currency because we will see the leading crypto-currencies gravitate towards being cyrpto-equities. leaving room for something like Vericoin to move into the existing crypto-currency void.

I was quoting altcoinUK, not you.

But since we are chatting, I'd have to say an ETF or ETC for VRC is highly probable if this currency has any future.

Correct. That's what I have been telling here for weeks, the worldwide mass adoption theme is a delusion. Vericoin won't be able to replace Bitcoin nor seriously compete with it at any level.

So you admit you're repeating yourself? Glad someone has the energy in these summer doldrums.

Anyway, who said anything about VRC replacing bitcoin? BTC will likely evolve into digital gold,  a store of value with low velocity. VRC can be cash to that gold.

To progress this cash idea further, is anyone interested in writing a service  to send VRC through Facebook or Twitter? Similar to VeriSMS, they could be called VeriPoke and VeriTweet.

it might be too late. dont't be surprised if with anon nothing happens to price.
Clearly, there is a sizable number of people on here gagging for anon. It's sensible to conclude building this will boost the price by increasing the buy side of the equation. A well executed anon feature cannot possibly hurt the price, so what's not to like?

On the anon subject, whether you believe it is desirable or not for a gambling alt, you have to appreciate that adding anon applies leverage to the value of all the current features of Minerals. So, to my mind, it is a no-brainer - if it can be implemented well, it should be top of the to-do list. If a good technical solution is not immediately apparent to the developers, it should be postponed, however it *should* be delivered at some point. Personally, I would aim for sooner, rather than later, to de-risk the danger that lack of anon is hurting MIN.

The question is, will there be enough liquidity? If I look at trade.moolah.io I see empty markets.

Moolah are working on this - they have just acquired MintPal, for starters. Anyway, low liquidity *now* is no reason not to explore this option. By the time the Minerals devs implement this feature, Moolah might have reasonable liquidity. The arrival of new Minerals users from outside the crypto world can only help. Wink

If someone has link to "software" to set up a paypal to minerals site I can put one up.

I don't think PayPal and cryptos work well together. The risk of 'charge back' is essentially unmanageable because PayPal will reverse the fiat side of the transaction if the buyer claims they did not receive the coins. The seller has then lost the MIN they sent in good faith as well as the fiat and will probably have their PayPal account closed.

I mentioned in an earlier post that the Vericoin team have partnered with moolah.io to allow users to buy VRC from the Vericoin wallet. The latest build has a simple 'Buy Vericoin' button that opens Moolah's web page to trade VRC/USD. The next release will provide an improved user experience, so this is clearly a feature Moolah are happy to support. This is something the Minerals team should explore - the ideal solution for someone who wants to bet with MIN but with no real interest or knowledge of BTC is they can be told they should download the Minerals wallet and buy MIN with their credit card.  Smiley

I've seen mention a few times by PR, appeals for people to help expand the market for MIN by launching websites selling them via PayPal. PayPal and crypto have a problematic history, but that aside, have the dev team considered working with Moolah to:

a) list MIN/USD
b) integrate this into the Minerals wallet?

The Vericoin team have taken this approach - VRC is now available to trade for fiat on moolah.io, and it's likely they will release their new wallet with fiat integration this weekend at the NABC.

See: https://trade.moolah.io/market/btc/vrc

Fiat pairs have only recently gone live, so this might be a good time for Minerals to contact the Moolah CEO and point out the explosive potential of this coin.
