Thanks
3  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: $30 Giveaway from Cointelegraph and Counterparty Foundation on: February 09, 2015, 11:38:11 AM
Offer still open? I'm interested.
4  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: New CPA affiliate network on: January 21, 2015, 09:49:06 AM
Do I understand it correctly - you're planning on a limited number of users whom you'll be offering special conditions?

How many users will it be?

What's more important is the lack of clarity on how it solves the Byzantine Generals Problem.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Power Company Tip Leads to Bitcoin Mining Raid on: September 17, 2014, 01:04:47 PM
Charged with marijuana possession, and yet they confiscate everything bitcoin related.
7  Other / Off-topic / Re: Paypal. Is. Scared. on: September 17, 2014, 01:03:08 PM
When bitcoin proponents attack Paypal its different though because bitcoins have never been stolen
8  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM Fees analysis on: September 17, 2014, 01:01:30 PM
A good attempt but lacking detail The Bringabong shop in Nimbin is mentioned but no fees .We currently charge 3% on bit average which will help with the averages for Australia. Our shop recently burnt to the ground and we have relocated to lot 9 No2 BlueKnob Rd Nimbin NSW 2480 Australia. Fortunately we saved the Lamassu which is now back in commission.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal VISA and other companies with BTC. It is good? on: September 17, 2014, 12:59:43 PM
Define 'good' and 'positive'. Those words mean different things to different people in different situations.
If I could fund my PayPal account with Bitcoins and pay any other PayPal user in their currency of choice, that would be convenient. If I could receive funds from others through PayPal and withdraw those funds as Bitcoins, that would also be very convenient.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price PLUS $1000 - Would Bitcoin then see world wide acceptance? on: September 14, 2014, 01:33:21 PM
I think you would have better luck if this entire subreddit decided to buy $5 worth of bitcoin on the same day.

We should have a bitcoin purchase day! Start it off once a month or something. The 1st of every month! National Buy-a-Bitcoin day
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Charlie Shrem Pleads Guilty - What do you think? on: September 14, 2014, 01:19:58 PM
I'm sure these prosecutors are really proud of their bust—pressuring yet another harmless kid into a plea deal.
And while they're doing that, countless professional launderers go to work, day in and day out. The only difference is that they have the financial backing and legal counsel from those who specialize in these things.

Most of what the pros do is technically "legal" so there's nothing to prosecute. And when it's not 100% legal, they know how to structure their arrangements to fall within certain grey areas of the law, making a successful prosecution of their practices, a legal nightmare.
Instead of facing any of these fundamental issues, or having the balls to investigate real cases, the prosecutors, as typical, go for the low hanging fruit. Regardless of the fact that what Shrem did, is for all practical purposes, harmless.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s future depends on public acceptance on: September 14, 2014, 01:12:38 PM
A little obvious but this is an important point. Bitcoin users have to value educating newbies and pushing for adoption if Bitcoin is going to survive.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1991 Electronics -> 2014 Smartphone. 2014 Banking -> 2018 Bitcoin on: September 14, 2014, 01:06:19 PM
The difference between electronics and bitcoin is electronics didnt have 'cartels' that made laws and cornered the market. It was much more free, so to speak. The financial system, money etc. is not, which is why bitcoin could run into trouble down the road.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why There Should Be A Bitcoin Central Bank on: September 14, 2014, 12:59:51 PM
After this early line.
"To put in simpler terms: banks only has in their vaults a small percentage of the money that their customers gave them;"

I don't think the article will be taken seriously.
15  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase Insured on: September 14, 2014, 12:53:33 PM
This is good to hear but still doesn't mean keep your Bitcoin savings in Coinbase.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will we stop the evil free market Chinese? on: September 14, 2014, 12:46:32 PM
Gotta say, I liked this better when it was GPU mining. This environment where the Chinese manufacturers are controlling the network is a bit ridiculous and makes me lose faith in the system.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Poll] What anonymous coin will succed? on: September 03, 2014, 12:42:10 PM
probably monero, but i don't like it
But if you don't like XMR why did you vote for it? It's ridiculous and illogical.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your top 5 altcoins - in order? on: September 03, 2014, 12:32:45 PM

19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase Insured on: August 30, 2014, 07:26:23 PM

Interesting. It's good to see Coinbase setting the standard here. Of course, employee infidelity and hacking are just two ways that bitcoins could disappear.

What about physical theft? Summary says that the insurance covers losses due to physical security breach, so presumably physical theft is covered. Missed that in the summary.
What about natural disasters, fire, flood, etc.?
What about kidnap/ransom/extortion of employees?
What about lawful confiscation (usually not covered by policies)?
What are the actual limits of the policy?
Are the limits on a per-account basis (like the FDIC), per occurrence basis, or per policy period?
Was the policy designed to cover the type of hacking that allegedly occurred with Mt. Gox?

Their statement is actually very vague and very limited. I wouldnt rely on this insurance.... And especially since coinbase is staying very quite about the bitlicense ordeal, Im starting to put less and less trust in them. I dont even use their service anymore and am eagerly waiting for my circle invite.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people price things in fiat but want BTC - choose one or the other on: August 30, 2014, 07:19:58 PM
I think it will one day shift into pricing directly in BTC, but not until we reach mass adoption. For now, the bitcoin economy is still in the kindling phase... not yet the blazing fire economy. For now, people relate better to USD or their base currency when trying to adopt BTC I think.
