1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: February 22, 2018, 11:57:09 AM
Nicehash = Thieving cunts, twice now they have robbed me of >50k sat miner fee, both times the average fee was 10k sat... Last chance nicehash thieves, you now owe me an extra 80k sat, and my miners stay elsewhere until you stop stealing from me!!!!

I cant understand why still so much people use this platform...
...are they really all to lazy to select there own coin and pools?

For me personally (totally new) this is very easy to use, just download the program and begin using + it selects what it thinks is best to mine, converting to BTC is super easy.. i set it all up within 10 minutes, with zero experience in mining.

pools, i have no idea where to start Cheesy

I do have some Huh about this service though.. for example they are now doing a "payout" from the miner program to my internal BTC-adress... for some reason it didnt restart at 0, but at 0.1-something mBTC.. and it stayed at this currency for many hours (mining active). Restarted and now it's 0. I have no idea if it catches up eventually or how this works...

Lyra2REv2 seemed more profitable than anything else for me, today (with 1 1080ti), so i do wish it was smart enough to stay mining that (e.g if the rate is above a certain amount it should keep mining that). but i guess its beyond the idea here, it's not supposed to be profitable for me in the first place really.

yes that's it

Both at the same time?? seems really unfortunate. How often does the difficulty go up?

no need to benchmark more than say once a month.
once you get really going, it's best not to do auto-switching, as it stresses your gpu.
eventually research on whattomine.com or similar and mine a coin you pick
follow these threads https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2674194.0 but ask newbie q's somewhere else lol
good luck

Ok. But with this particular miner i guess you can only auto-switch, because its kind of what it does / the idea.. sorry again for n00b question.

totally new to this.. been mining for a week or so, works well and easy to use! I'm using the "Legacy" version, read somewhere that it gave somewhat better results, its my (very limited) experience as well.

since 18h or so back the rate has dropped with around $1/day.. is this normal? it was on a steady $5 since start, now its around 4. I guess the value of everything just dropped or perhaps the difficulty increased? Again, totally new so i have no idea what i'm talking about  Grin

I did the benchmark again (i always do the "long" one), is the benchmark for selecting what is best to mine currently - so it needs to be done every now and then?

i have a i5 8600 (@4.6) + and one 1080ti.

Total newbie here, i guess it's been asked 1000 times, but anyways.. which mining program is recommended for (1) 1080ti?
Depends on what you are mining?

No idea (newbie) , what options are there, what is suggested? Smiley

so I just made a deposit into the fog right before I noticed that stupid message on the front page. started googling and stumbled on this thread. yall had me freaking out for an hour, then i refreshed and the deposit was there. just letting yall know it worked for me and it took about an hour to go through. for those of you who've had unknown withdrawals, did you have weak passwords or something? i use like a 100 bit keepass pw

When i look at how my BTC's traveled, they arrived to my bitcoinfog address on the 19th (many days after the deposit was made), then there's 10 withdrawals to various addresses and the final amount is 0 BTC.

How is this a technical issue, it doesnt look like it, but i wouldn't say i know a lot about how these transactions works. My password is strong, i also don't see how password would be a "technical issue" (like it says on their page), password has nothing to with the deposits to the address taking several days (that would be a technical issue, i'd say) and then it seems like they BTC went to other adresses, for some reason.

So, is this company a ripoff or not? If not, any suggestion for a similar service which is trustworthy?

Many thanks.

What does "confirmation" stands for? For example "60 confirmations". Also, how does "request payment" work? Does it send out an email (hmm are emails even linked to BTC addresses) or what happens?

Guess i'm ripped off as well.. Would've taken me 10 seconds to google and find this thread, doh. Lesson learned and lots of money (to me at least) lost Sad

Are there any similar services, that aren't scammers (yet)?

Thank you ranochigo. I don't use any of that so i should be fine Smiley
11  Other / Beginners & Help / What's a "shared adress"? on: July 20, 2014, 06:39:15 AM
Yes, a stupid newbie question for sure, but i don't know what it means Smiley For example, i want to use BitCoinFog and it says "Do not send money directly from the Fog to shared addresses".

I want to make sure i'm not doing something wrong.

Many thanks!
