1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Waking up a dead or concluded discussion in a topic on: Today at 02:24:48 PM
I do come across threads that have been inactive for more than four months and all of a sudden you will just see a user make a reply on such post that have been inactive for a long time and possibly the discussion is the OP looks concluded from previous replies of other users and this is mostly done by newbies so is it necessary to wake up an inactive thread or the OP is to be blamed for not locking the thread when the thread became inactive and the information required by the OP has been ascertained and if it is a case where such discussions in the OP arises in the future can that same thread be reactivated or it will be better to create a new thread?.
This is actually good one @op because there are so many threads here and especially in gambling board that have been inactive for a long time but sometimes i will try and explore the forum and i will see some comments on that thread, meanwhile @op i will also love to ask you some questions concerning your post too because i will also like to learn more on this,

1. is there any specified duration for a particular post to last on the forum ?
if the answer is yes please kindly refer me to the guielines where i can read about it in the forum because i am new in the forum and i will not like to be  a victim of not obeying the rules and regulation of the forum. the forum is filled with so many users and also welcoming new users by the day, so how will the new users know that a particular topic has been inactive and how will they deal with the situation.
2  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can democracy really work here in Africa on: Today at 02:04:11 PM
Democracy should be given a chance in order for it to work but in Africa mostly it's millitary rule and numerous coups to get on power and at the same time I think we will see coups even for democratically elected candidates and we have seen this in Egypt (North Africa and middle East nation though).

I think it's because of power hungry war lord and maniac militants, it's really hard to go back to democracy.
My dear mate i sincerely agree with you, in Africa the quest for power is quite alarming and virtually all the African leaders are very greedy and selfish, they don't have the interest of the citizens at heart and that's why we experience coup from time to time, they don't have respects for fundamental human rights and treat her citizens as animal and also deprive them of freedom. however, the chances of having a good democracy in Africa is very rare because African don't have sincere leaders and few sincere ones have been killed by the bad ones.

From experience and learning, i learnt that democracy is government of the people by the people and for the people, but in Africa the reverse is the case, because their leaders don't have even value the masses that voted them into different offices so democracy really cannot work perfectly in Africa because Africa is still a developing continent.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: May 25, 2024, 06:19:53 PM
Especially on sports betting we see some racism happening and this happened in most of the league that are popular of which so many persons bet on. It bothers me to ask, that imagine you placed a bet and somehow you have 80% assurance that it would come out successful. And on the process of waiting for the game to end there was some racism manipulation in the game which made you lost the game. It could be football or other sports cause its mostly found in sports.

Next time would you choose to not bet on a particular game because you feel the members of the VAR, or the referee are racist, and you are sure that there would be some manipulation?
We experience racism in most of the games which is very bad because it brings hatred among players and countries, but for me i do not consider racism while playing bet because i believe that racism cannot deprive me from having fun. There is no way racism can manipulate your game and in most of the sports racism have been banned and there is always a fine placed on each player or country found in such act. the core essence of sports is for unity and integration, that is why the organizers are very strict when it comes to Racism because it can lead to disintegration.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does prediction in sport work for you? on: May 25, 2024, 05:38:25 PM
If you are interested in gambling on sports, do you rely on prediction betting sites? Why?
What is the most prominent site you rely on?
No. I prefer to make my own findings to predict the outcome of a match. One thing about prediction sites is that they are not accurate as some matches they select are wrong predictions while they predict some matches correctly. If you see the ratio of inaccurate on prediction sites, it is more than 40% and that is enough for someone to make a wrong pick and lose.
The reality here is that prediction sites are not always accurate but the truth here is that there is no harm in trying, your predictions too might also not give you 100% of your expected win, in gambling there is no correct prediction, and everything is based on trial and error, yes, it is very obvious that most prediction sites are fake but there are also need to give it a trial because gambling entails luck and if by chance you are favored , then its your luck that very moment, however, in gambling we don't hope on one particular strategy, we try every strategy to know the one that will Favour us. the rationale behind my contribution here is that there is no good prediction in gambling and there is no bad prediction in gambling, everything lies in your luck and the ability for you to utilize every bit of your chance to win.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Day streaming as gambler experience on: May 25, 2024, 02:51:34 PM

Do you think it is a bad thing to do, promoting gambling?
My dear, it's very nice that you seek for opinion or advice here in the forum because there are virtually good people here who are experts when it comes to gambling, but i will sincerely advice you to think about it first because this should be a personal decision my dear. promoting gambling is not actually a bad thing because promotion is a means of advert and a way of making money too, but it all depends on the medium of your promotion so as not to infringe peoples right. some promotional mediums are strictly meant for adults only and gambling is specifically meant for people who have reached the statutory age requirement of a particular country so while promoting gambling do well to meet the target customers. however, it is not a bad thing to promote gambling but do it responsibly.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: May 25, 2024, 12:34:21 AM
If you're considering introducing your acquaintance to sports betting, you could subtly highlight the potential benefits, such as leveraging his football knowledge for strategic bets. But always be mindful of not imposing your viewpoint and respect his preferences when discussing gambling activities.
Exactly my dear , i guess his friend has a prior knowledge about sports betting before decided to invest on slots, while introducing sports betting for him there is need to let him know the importance or moreless the advantages of sports betting to slots so that he will not end up making conflict of choice which invariably will affect his gambling life. there are people who have good knowledge about sports betting and can make good analysis on every games and there predictions are always close to 100% but they prefer other games than sports betting for their own happiness. They probably like slots for fun and to make themselves happy not considering the amount that they stand to lose.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 25, 2024, 12:17:54 AM
He is very lucky that he is winning small amount of money and not losing more. If he is looking for ways to win more, that can lead him to losing more money. Or is he losing money is what you want to say?

There is no better strategy than the gambling site winning more money from their customers. Tell him not to be greedy and be gambling as he is gambling. If truly he is winning small amount of money, it is better than losing.
I sincerely agree with you that greediness can actually make some gamblers to loss more than expected one thing we need to know in life is that appreciation is the application for for more, let him value the little that he is winning first, and give himself time then huge amount will come. there is virtually no harm in trying everytime but one thing is certain because the more you give your self chance to try the more you are exposed to either winning or losing, and it is very unfortunate when you are losing because you will keep on trying to recover your lost amount then you will end up becoming an addict. just like you cited in your paragragh, there is no better strategy in gambling, gamblings is all about luck and when you are lucky to win any amount, kindly consider it as good opportunity to restrain from gambling for your own good.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does destiny has influence in the amount we can win in gamble? on: May 24, 2024, 11:56:03 PM
Even though I don't feel comfortable attaching so much spirituality to gambling, it is still possible that some people are just naturally lucky that they win effortlessly.  I don't know if this has anything to do with their destiny or not and if it does, then it is possible that their could be some spiritual max they could win.

However, I wouldn't want to accept that destiny play a part in gambling, I can't just fathom how this will be possible. I have to see what others have to say, so I can learn. If it is, there is no way an individual can verify his case
There is possibility that destiny can influence the amount we can win in gambling, religious believe made us to understand that we can only actualize what we hope and believe on, there are practically set of individuals who believed so much that they make it in life through gambling by winning huge amount, and they practically work on that, believing that God will make it happen for them. one thing about destiny is faith and faith ordinarily is the manifestation of what you hoped for. so many people have become successful in life as result of destiny and gambling is not an exception, that is to say that if one is destined to be a great person through gambling and he believed on it definitely it will come to pass. so i really think that destiny can influence the amount we can win.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think casinos can stop demanding KYC? on: May 24, 2024, 05:56:49 PM
Casinos existed without the need for KYC's until the government made it a requirement, and they started demanding it. IMO If the government no longer requires casinos to do KYC verification for new gamblers, casinos will go ahead and still do KYC verifications because they have seen the benefits of knowing their customers better than when they just allowed people to come onto their platform and gamble without their knowledge of who they were. What do you think? Do you think some casino's will revert back to non-KYC and allow money launderers, plus other fraudulent people have their easy way with them as a way to attract customers, or since they recognize the personal benefits of KYC to their casino, will continue demanding it even if it affects their customers?
the objective of kyc is not for government is to be assure of the particular account so that they will not be commitment of any site fraud with the such a particular account government cannot demand for kyc verification of any account it is that particular platform that will demand for it because they know actually what is their target and there are selective to know people who want to patronize them I think about it should be the essence of having a kyc
I thought as much because the question should have centered more on the core essence of having KYC in casino houses, knowing palpably well that kyc is a regulatory process of ascertaining the identity and other vital information of a financial user. it is not bad that casino house know their customers because it helps them to guide against money laundry. i don't think any casino can revert to non KYC just to have more customer, because i believe that every business requires trust and integrity to keep their business going, so if kyc will make them keep to that standard coupled with the government demands on KYC, i  believe casino will stick to KYC.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: May 24, 2024, 05:26:12 PM
If it has come to that situation where the man and the wife gamble, the family is already in a big mess. It doesn't matter who influences who but this is already a disorder in the family. A father gambling in a family is manageable as the household will still be managed by the wife but both of them out of the house to gamble is not good. Both have to quit and look into what they prioritize.
Exactly the point that have in mind, i have being imagining how the family will look like, or the nature of the family when husband and wife are gamblers or probably if they are pure addicts. Even when the man alone is gambling, and he is an addict the family is not always stable because he spends most of his money that are meant for domestic use to gamble not to talk of when the wife is a gambler too. i have not seen such family though but i know for sure that there will be no peace in that family, and it is very possible that the children will follow them to gamble too. We understand the fact that life is very hard, and most people gamble to make money, but it is very absurd for both husband and wife to gamble just for the sake of money and considering who to quit as you asked @op, i will sincerely suggest that the woman should quit because women have that tendencies and that natural charisma to influence their children than the men. so, i suggest that the woman should step down for the man for peace to exist that family.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to stop on: May 24, 2024, 05:08:26 PM
One of the most important factor of a successful gambler is to know when to stop, most gamblers expecially the addictive type don't even know what is stop when it comes to gambling. So it's very important to;
* Stop when your losing is now getting to you.

* Stop when you are now feeling as is you can't do without gambling.

* Stop when you have a big winning, by channeling the money somewhere else so you won't lose it back to gambling.

* Stop when you are not even winning at all, it's not your thing.

* When your losing is weighing you down, stop and restrategize .

It's easy to advice to stop but when you start gambling it's one of the most difficult thing to do. Aside from profit we can't deny the fact that the thrill and fun that gambling brings makes it addictive. Once you start gambling you lose common sense and sometimes go above what you can spend in gambling. It's best to keep in mind to gamble with moderation and just enjoy gambling as much as possible and know your limits when gambling.
Yes, to tell someone to stop is very easy to say but the mind to implement it becomes a problem. There is this spirit in gambling that once you start plaving, it will be very hard for you to just stop like that. Gambling is a game of luck that we usually have that mindset and mentality that once we keep on playing and adopting different strategies there is always chances for us to be favored with a win and that is why to stop is very hard. I have seen so many people advising gamblers to stop when they are not winning at all, this is actually a good advice but it is quite difficult to obey because every gambler needs winning and will possibly try different betting strategies just to recover his lost funds and by so doing he will keep on losing more and more. I can only advice gamblers to adopt some regulative measures to control their emotions so that they will not keep on losing from time to time and thats the only way they will learn when to stop.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the limits and common sense of bet? on: May 24, 2024, 02:37:52 PM
From what I understand what is bet is, both parties involved most stake something so that whoever losses will have to miss something. If a bet is only on one person, I will not call it a bet. The casino or sport bets that we use for our staking activities have a lot of money in which we can win, and it is because of this money that is making a lot of people to gamble, because if you win, you will get paid and if you lose, the casino keeps your money. So betting only on one side shows a sign of unseriousness a joke to me because it is only the bettor that will lose. Sometimes, those kind of bets are done orally, and should not be taken as a bet. I have not involved in such game because I feel it is cheating, because I know my friends they will definitely want you to do whatever you said. Will I call such a promise or something.
Very true my dear, before anything is called a bet, they parties must mutually stake something of value to make it a bet, because one person must either win or lose something of value be it money, property or any other tangible things available. just like the casino or betting shop that you cited earlier both of them have their money to risk and that is why they cannot allow you to play without risking your money too because if you win you will go with their money and if you lose vice versa.

gambling or betting should be symbiotic in nature because that is the fun, and that is also the reason why the bettor will take it very seriously, though i have seen friends who bet orally just to have fun and probably to keep themselves busy, gambling is also fun and sweet when you stake something reasonable because the amount you have staked brings out your seriousness.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 24, 2024, 02:08:15 PM
It's a given thing, I guess. But to elaborate you can't borrow money and use it in gambling simply because winning will never be certain. Imagine losing all of it and still be needing to pay it, would you be fine? Never put yourself in a situation that you wouldn't want to. If you already have the urge to borrow for the sake of being able to gamble, there's a big problem going on. That simply means you're too hooked up with the idea that gambling will make any significant change in your life. Always manage the risk as much as possible.

Keep in mind that many people are only using a portion of their salary to avoid worse situations which is to ened up with nothing because of this activity. It would be much better to anticipate that losing is more likely to happen than you winning. If it's not your day then accept it. If you don't have money to gamble then accept it. Gambling is a game of luck and luck on the other hand is not something we have control of.
Gambling is not something important, i guess that people borrow money to attend to their important needs and if someone is actually borrowing money to gamble that means the person did not know anything about gambling and should understand that every activity relating to gamble is very uncertain. Experience in life taught me that i should not risk any amount that i cannot afford to lose either in investment or in gambling.

We are expected to gamble with a portion of money that will not affect our daily needs and other utility bills, because if we use the money that are meant for our domestic needs to gamble it will surely affect our cost of living thereby bringing problems in our homes especially in our marriages. i don't know how to put this but borrowing money to gamble is insanity and can lead to depression if the game turns out bad.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 24, 2024, 01:43:23 PM
The consequences of irresponsible gambling is very high and it can make the addict look unkept like someone insane. This is why as a gambler, you should be able to have prevention measures on addiction in order to gamble happily and enjoy the fun in gambling. I agree with every points that you highlighted, but the problems lies on the people who see gambling as a means of making profit, and they will go at extra miles to make sure that they continue gambling even though they are running at big loss. Such people needs to quit gambling and go on a long break, if not they are doing more harm to themselves. If most gamblers can key into the rules of gambling and only gamble for fun, we will have less gambling related problems in the society.
I totally agree with you that the consequences of irresponsible gambling have done more harm than good to most gamblers, it is very obvious that most gamblers look tattered as a result of their quest to win game and the idea of their continuous trial and this has actually rendered most of them useless because some of them use some of their properties to gamble as a result of addiction and this probably must have caused depression to their relatives.

The society is filled with so many insane people arising from drugs, natural madness but the height of it all is gambling, these persons should be advised to quit gambling because they are constituting nuisance all they in our major cities. I know quite alright that people make money from gambling, but they should consider the fun as their major priority than the money they make because it is as a result to win money that they got addicted. concerning your question, @op gambling is not bad to the society but the individuals who play gambling makes it bad by turning into addicts and as such constituting nuisance in the society.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in match fixing? on: May 24, 2024, 12:46:20 PM
I used to hear people say that most of the matches are being fixed by the football body such that they make sure that the matches play according to how they fixed them to play and the reason why the VAR was introduced was even to help in actualizing the match fixing. How true is this because what will be the benefit of fixing match without any benefits or do the football body do some secret gambling and makes sure it goes in their favour? Even some players are sometimes suspected to have been part of a match fixing just like in the match between Tottenham and Manchester city when Son Heung-min was one on one with Manchester City's goal keeper Ederson but he played the ball directly to the goal keeper and after the match, Pep Guardiola went to shake him and people were wondering if the match was fixed to favour Manchester city. So let's deliberate on this
There is nothing like match fixing my friend, no team would like to lose to the other opponent just because of money, the players have different intentions while in the field apart from winning the match they also want to advertise their skills so they will be noticed by a bigger club for contract, and no player will like to ruin his grace of going to higher club just because he was paid a huge amount of money in a single match. the example you cited concerning a player who failed to score but shot the ball directly to the goalkeeper, that does not mean that the match was fixed but the best that he can play at that moment considering the pressure at that particular point in time.

Any player can miss that goal, even Ronaldo and Messi often misses penalty in some critical matches and that does not mean that they are been paid or that the match was fixed and for the Manchester coach to have shook hands with him must have probably being a coincidence because he is very fond of shaking a very player next to him when the match is over and he did not specifically went to the player to shake him just because he missed the goal. And also note that, while starting any game no one knows the player that will have the chance to score so Manchester city coach did not even know that the player will miss the goal because all football activities are very uncertain. so, there is nothing like match fixing @op.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: Money addiction on: May 23, 2024, 08:29:39 PM
On a scale of 1-10 I will say 9 out of every 10 are addicted to making more money even though not everyone attain this height at the end of the day. We live in an every hiking economic society. Prices of commodities keep changing as each day passes by. This has invariably triggered the addiction to more money as the usual earnings is no longer enough to maintain once life style.

Many have been forced into adapting to their current spending ability, others have deviced means to earn more so as to meet up others has choosen the looting method just to survive.

Based on this Ninety percent of people in every sector of life has higher chances of looting only that most people are not privileged to get the opportunity to carryout what's in their minds
The quest for money has rained globally no one survives without money and as a medium of exchange it has practically affected every sphere of life, we are in the society where money has become answers to major viral problems, even in the scripture for most of us that are Christians, it is rightly quoted that money answers all things which invariably implies that we need money for our survival. Op i might not say that the quest for money is actually addiction, because people need money for survival and most people work so hard to earn money while some loot money just like you earlier mentioned for them to remain in their position.

No country survives without money because the citizens solely depend on the circulation of money for survival, practically the society has been stratified into different classes the rich, middle, poor just because of money, money commands influence and brings you closer to a different level with different people. however, for me no one is addicted for money, but the insatiability of man turns money into addiction.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are confident with your picks, do you win most of the time? on: May 23, 2024, 02:01:51 PM
I would like to ask everyone here who is into sports betting for some advice. I've come to realize that maybe I should start fading myself. I've noticed that my recent gambling journey hasn't been profitable, so I'm thinking maybe I'm missing something. I tried an experiment by just recording my picks and then betting the opposite of my analysis. Surprisingly, this resulted in profitable betting.

So how about you? Have you ever thought of this idea when your picks aren't hitting? I mean, if we keep following how we think and feel with our picks and it doesn't translate to profit, there's no reason to continue following the same strategy. But are we comfortable with betting against our own picks just for the sake of fading ourselves strategy?
The essence of different odds in sports betting is to give you the room and chance to make decision when your strategies are not working well as planned, most times we rely on our steady strategy probably because it has favored us once and we succeeded profitably, but in sports we should be ready for changes knowing fully well that it is a game of luck , so it is quite advisable that we try another strategy and not relying on one particular strategy.

I have also felt same way @op because there was a time that i relied Soley on correct score just because i won a huge amount from predicting correct scores, and from that day i insisted on playing correct score not until i realized that i am about to lose all the money that i won earlier on predicting a particular style. when i decided to try another strategy fortunately, it favored me, that is to say that there is need for us to re-strategize in our predictions even when we know that gambling is a game of chance and luck.
18  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I want law and order back on: May 23, 2024, 11:35:41 AM
We need law and order back look what's going on with our beautiful cities Sad
I went in Canada I'm so happy that people fear police there nobody don't ever think about silly actions.
All the world Police should see Canada police as example.
I don't agree that someone get robbed on the street mobile phones or robbed in the middle of day light.
We need armed forces on the street and if anyone do Even one silly move their hands will be braked and police dogs will haunt them down Smiley
Those guys who do bigger crimes not problem they behave Nice and well-mannered and behave nice I'm not telling them I'm talking about silly people who disturb others with their small silly crimes.
We need government power to make law and order
Everyone wants law and order back in the society because no one wants to be living with fear, no one wants to be robbed on daily basis, the present day society actually need armed forces in other to maintain peace and order in the society because the activities of gangsters are becoming so worst by the day. some cities are trying in terms of security, just like Canada that you earlier mentioned they have the interest of the citizens at heart and cares a lot to ensure that there is peace and order in the state and every country should emulate that. but in some other countries like my own country Nigeria, the people that are supposed to ensure that peace and order are maintained are the ones committing crimes and even making the cities horrible for the people that they are supposed to protect. they also know the activities of the hoodlums but will fail to act instead they devise means to extort money from the citizens thereby making the city very unbearable for the citizens. for law and order to come back in every country, there should be a total and wholistic sensitization on the law enforcement agencies for them to understand the need for peace and orderliness in the state.
19  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Religion in our society on: May 23, 2024, 12:11:40 AM
why can't religion reduce the rate of crimes in our society?
Religion: I believe religion is a practice that teaches ways of good conducts and we all tend to found ourselves in a religion. I'm so sure all religion talks about good that leads man to the right track, correction from evil, love for one another, peace. But we still come across killings and all sort of different crimes in our society. If the society should practice our individual religion which they tend to belong, i feel the world would be a better place for mankind
It is quite obvious that religion teaches us about good conducts and the best way to help one another, it also teaches unity and morality, but the truth is that we are human being with diverse minds and evil hearts, yes, religion can teach us all of this but how far can we practice them, how far do we fear what we believe on, how far do we respect our God. it might also interest you to know@op that most people go to church for the sake of formality and not because they want to go. Some even go to church because their wife and children asked them to go to church. their religion can reshape mankind but cannot reshape crime because even in the churches there are also crimes here and there, incessant killing in the society is also carried out but religious believers which invariably implies that we don't practice what we believe on. There is this saying that you can force the horse to the water but can't force the horse to drink water which shows that we Don't practice the ethics of religion. however, morality and religion are two different things, there are people who do not believe in any religion, but their hearts are pure, so religion can curb the excesses of people but can't stop them from committing crime because it lies in our heart not to commit crime.
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Things you see in the society on: May 22, 2024, 11:49:01 PM
The society is a very busy place. A place where you can find all kind of answers to life there are to learn from the society it depends on the part you choose to trade on.
We have different religions. Christianity, Islamic, and traditional out of these three religions it's your choice to choose the one you want but today what we do today is to criticize another person's choice no one is the best let everyone choose theirs nobody has made your choice for you if you are happy remain there but if it does not you are free to try another way as this life is not a perfect one we will all make mistake and learn from it,the wise ones rise from their mistakes.

We also have the peer group an example is the cultism. Older people see those in this group as arrogant, violence, naughty, notorious and many more names to describe them. They are mostly the young people called the youths they are the people you can mostly see in this group many people disgust this group while some people to them it's an interesting game
But like I said earlier the part you choose determines where you go so let everyone choose theirs.

Another

There are virtually so many things to learn in the society and the society is comprised of so many things,  as an individual we have different understanding and believe , we also have different ethnic groups with different religious background and believe , there was a time in the society where so many of our forefathers depends Soley on traditional religion before the introduction of Christianity and then people were leaving in peace, understanding, love and care without any atom of envy or betrayal but now the introduction of Christianity has defined people's choice and the proliferation of churches also have led to a lot criticism and misunderstanding between different religious believers.

religious fanatism has been the major problem of Christianity because everyone believed that their own religion is better than other people's own and that has resulted to so many controversies and has kept the society in disorderly state. Talking about the activities of peer group in the name of cultism i will rather condemn their believe on that because it has rendered so many youths useless and has also taken so many lives as a result of their quest for dominance and leadership which invariably has led to societal instability. so, the society is quite difficult because different individual with different mindset, the best way to make society stable is to instill unity and also ban cultism and other social groups that can lead to violence.
