1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Do you believe Technical Analysis? on: September 27, 2023, 07:41:19 AM
Everyone knows that we can learn from the past to correct mistakes.
As a result, many economists attempt to predict the future through history.

We also have a known fact from the past.
The "Bitcoin halving" is correlated with price increases.

I'd like to pose a new question here.
What are your thoughts on using past charts(candlesticks) that similar current ongoing charts(candlesticks) to make price predictions?

When asked this question to many professors and investors, a common response is, "Candlesticks reflect the psychology of investors."

What are your thoughts on this matter?
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Why China Recognize Bitcoin? on: September 25, 2023, 11:41:40 PM
[News article]
"Shanghai Court Recognizes BTC as Digital Currency"
Shanghai court recognizes Bitcoin as digital currency, citing its uniqueness and potential for ownership disputes.

[Open question]
China is a socialist country. I don't quite understand the recognition of Bitcoin.
Indeed, we should engage in an extended thought process to understand why China has chosen to recognize it.

Based on historical data just like several indicators such as EMAs, Volume profiles, Support and resistance levels, so how is this really AI? I think we are getting more and more case where the word Artificial Intelligence is being misused to make users get excited with the recent AI hype.

I don't think anything is special with your tool except just being based on the previous support and resistance levels, which I can also do with my tradingview chart set up.

To find candidate similar charts, we have to use AI which calculate similarity degree between two charts.
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are Technical Indicators useless? on: September 19, 2023, 11:30:39 PM
Of course, it's possible. I have been achieving an annual return of over 60% through my metrics for the past 5 years.

We must use metrics for the following reasons:
1. Data doesn't lie.
2. Forgetting the past will lead to disgrace.
3. Data is necessary for managing risks.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Let's share some tips among ourselves. on: September 19, 2023, 04:04:44 AM
It all boils down to market sentiment. Mostly it's not even the decreased supply distribution through the halving that causes market upticks — it's mostly the fact that people think they need to invest more money in the asset due to decreased bitcoin units being distributed. It's mostly only narratives in the short-mid term.

Do you agree that sentiment is embedded in charts?

What criteria do you use when buying and selling? Let's share some tips and expertise.

For me, the three most significant factors are as follows:
1. Bitcoin halving.
2. A decrease in currency value due to economic downturns.
3. Sustained participation and growth of investors.

Therefore, I make a continuous effort to stay updated with all the news to track numbers 2 and 3 consistently.

We should avoid impulsive buying and selling.
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / you have to manage risk for trading. on: September 18, 2023, 06:38:42 AM
To manage your buying and selling risks objectively, you should utilize objective indicators.

I've created a solution for this, where I look for similar historical charts.

Having something objective is crucial for us to make informed trading decisions.
This allows us to effectively manage risks and enhance our trading strategies.
