Howdy,

As most of you know the infamous Vandroiy and myself entered into a wager for 5,000 each (10,000 BTC total).  If you missed it, you can check it out here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=91661.0.

With the knowledge of what he was up against I must say that I respect Vandroiy’s commitment of following through and placing his money where his mouth is.  It’s rarely seen on the Internet and I commend him for it.

With that said, I simply wouldn't have made the wager unless I knew exactly what the outcome would be.  So the time has come for Vandroiy to make his final decision.

Vandroiy has the following (2) options to choose from:

  • Concede the wager to me (pirateat40) per the details below.
    • Vandroiy: Signed document confirming the action to concede the wager.
    • pirateat40: Signed document accepting Vandroiy’s action.
    • pirateat40: Will donate the entire wager balance (10,000 BTC) to a charity of the forums choosing.

  • Don’t concede the wager and chance the outcome of Aug 14th.
    • pirateat40: Nothing changes and pirateat40’s winnings (5,000 BTC) go to the charity of the forums choosing.

Vandroiy has until Thursday at 5:00PM CST to make his decision.

Let the fun begin.

4  Economy / Securities / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust | Alerts & Updates on: July 23, 2012, 04:45:51 PM
Update

Starting today, I've lifted the referral only requirement to open a Savings account.

The switch date is being moved to Aug 13th due to me being out of town and a delay in the rollout of the website update.

Any account that holds more than 5k BTC will automatically be upgraded to a Trust account on that day.

Accounts opened from today to the switch date will be paid the current rates until the switch happens.

Thanks,

-pirate

Due to on-going issues (high stale/reject) with Slush's pool we've stopped supporting it.

Thanks,

There has been a little discussion about the properties of Gpumax, can someone please answer the following questions:

  • Are there types of work offered here that pay substantially more than normal pooled mining would?
  • Has this type of work been offered more frequently recently, especially since June?
  • Are you frequently receiving coins with a long history?

For obvious reasons, I would prefer answers from accounts that have not been heavily involved in supporting BS&T in discussions.

I hope you soon realize how crazy you sound.

If he wanted to launder most of his gains, his laundromat would have to be running full bore now. Is that what we actually observe?

Is this a reference to gpumax?  If so, its wrong.  GPUMax leasing hasn't been running much at all.

Shhhhh, let them run with it. Smiley

Hm... would anyone care right now if gpumax miners were paid out with BS&T funds?
They are.

Pirate directly denied this when I brought it up the other day. (he said that GPUMAX is not a part of the BTCST model).

GPUMAX has nothing to do with BS&T's operation. Like I've said before, coins are coins and I manage all of my wallets from a single location.  I fund the payment wallet for GPUMAX using one of my operating wallets, so the coins can come from anywhere.

It might be interesting if you could store the blockchain and wallet.dat on a rewritable bluray disc instead of your hard drive. Then you could simply use bitcoin from any device that accepts bluray disks and bitcoin.

Exactly my thinking...

Hard Drives fail and burn out.. but if you keep a disc in a nice sleeve it will last forever.

That way it would also be alot easier to physically store your bitcoins.. rather than a decaying thumb drive; a stack of blurays!

Its my opinion that any online wallet or computer wallet is at a huge risk and you would only use those as a buffer between your bitcoin use and bitcoin storage

Forever until the first fire turns it into a Frisbee.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I a genious?? on: July 12, 2012, 01:33:05 AM
so its not worth getting a blu-ray writer then?

So even like $1,000-$3,000 bitcoins would fit on just one DVD?

Do you know how many Bitcoins it would take to fill a DVD by itself?
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I a genious?? on: July 12, 2012, 01:21:29 AM
STORE BITCOINS ON BLURAY?!?!?!  Shocked

You have that many?
18  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Circle of Trust [Game/experiment] on: July 11, 2012, 03:07:10 AM
I hope I sent it to the right person. I even added to it hoping that it gains another 7% interest from the person I sent it to.

It's going to need the 7%, because my empty wallet doesn't have enough for the transaction fee. Undecided

Lies, there was plenty to process it.

EDIT: Scratch that, you said you used blockchain.info?
