1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Sazmining on: June 16, 2024, 03:47:15 PM
Does anyone have any experience with Sazmining, any opinions out there? The listed power rate is $0.047 kw/hr with a monthly service charge of $95. The split is 15%. Based in Paraguay with hydroelectric.  Thank you

That's what I thought. Very helpful and thank you very much! I'd merit if I could

Yes, thank you, under Passphrase Frequency, set to :: Always;  and Method set to:: Manual. But no other indications of a passphrase from there, ie no keyboard screen on device to enter the passphrase.  Maybe a firmware upgrade needed?
I don't think it's a firmware issue, but you can try if you want to. Especially if you are using a really outdated firmware. I am not on the latest one and the passphrase feature works just fine.

Are you trying to add a passphrase to an already existing wallet or generate a new seed with a passphrase?
For the former, you'll have to initiate an advanced setup and enter the passphrase once prompted by the device.

I am not sure how Jade does it if the wallet already holds a seed.
How did you set up your wallet, basic or advanced setup? Is there always a seed in its memory or are you using the Jade as stateless signer by scanning SeedQRs before every use?

Yes wallet already initialized/existing and holds seed, not stateless. When originally set up, probably used basic set up. How to initialize an advanced set up, or do I need to reset the wallet? If I reset the wallet, will I need to enter the seed to reconstitute? Thank you.

I am not sure what you are doing wrong, but there is no problem with the passphrase feature in Jade.
I created a new wallet some time ago using advanced setup to work with my Jade as a stateless signer. The setup asks you if you want to create a passphrase or not. If you selected no, then of course you won't be required to enter a passphrase.

Go into the settings of your Jade and check the passphrase settings. Perhaps you have turned the passphrase frequency setting to "Off." Switch it to the "Always" option if you want to enter your passphrase every time you turn on the device.

Yes, thank you, under Passphrase Frequency, set to :: Always;  and Method set to:: Manual. But no other indications of a passphrase from there, ie no keyboard screen on device to enter the passphrase.  Maybe a firmware upgrade needed?

It is Jade. Allows frequency of passphrase and method choices but keyboard does not appear

Hardware wallet is initialized but not passphrase enabled. Does the device need to be reset in order to enable passphrases?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Restoring a Sparrow Multisig on: February 19, 2024, 04:45:19 AM
If for whatever reason, a Sparrow multi-sig wallet user starts to use a new desktop or laptop. User reinstalls Sparrow, Electrum or such interface on new machine. In order to migrate a previously established multi-sig to the new instance of sparrow/electrum, etc, is it possible to rebuild the same wallet with just the seed phrases of the participating cold signers? Or is it required to reestablish the wallet using the wallet setup file using the pubs? Additionally, is the output wallet descriptor file enough to reestablish the multi-sig wallet? What I'm getting at is, just how important is it to have the wallet setup file or the output descriptor file backed up. Thank you.
9  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Cold card connected to labtop on: February 11, 2024, 03:09:43 AM
During a recent spend from multisig, the coldcard component was usb connected to the labtop. Was the air-gapped nature of the coldcard compromised? Should I rebuild the wallet? Thanks

Thanks everyone for the replies. Tremendous help.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Transactions stuck in mempool with Sparrow on: December 03, 2023, 04:12:25 PM
I have several transactions stuck in the mempool through Sparrow. The Sparrow help forum from their Telegram thread asked me to go to sparrownodevalidator.com so that my server receptor can be updated.  This sounds odd. Does anyone have any experience with sparrow's node validator and updating their server like this?
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Sparrow cant find Jade on: November 19, 2023, 05:46:45 AM
When using Sparrow to scan to find a connected hardware wallet, I receive an error: Could not open client or get fingerprint information; could not open port 'COM4': PermissionError. Access is denied. Any ideas on hoe to work around? Thank you
