1  Economy / Economics / Re: Moneyflow towards the Dollar on: June 17, 2024, 03:22:03 PM
whether those who are in stand with the US $  against the BRICS corporation in opposition to dollarization agrees or disagrees with any significant level of effect and potential effects the corporation has had on the dollar in the past one year, the truth remains that the BRICS agenda has made the US sleepless with their economic hold on the global South now under threat.
Headlines are often misleading.
In all essence, both the headlines in favour of the BRICS and the US are often misleading headlines? Is that what you are implying?

Or conceivably, you narrowing it to the BRICS headlines alone?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EEMERGENCY: in mempool congestion period on: June 17, 2024, 02:28:00 PM
The heart of the lengthy story which I am moved to share is that we should not leave to have some amount of coins in our CEX for quick sell, despite their disadvantageous side, they can actually come in handy in emergency time when there's a mempool congestion like we are experiencing right now. However, make sure what you keeping it's an amount of coins you can literally lose should the unimaginable happen.
It is not a good idea to leave coins in an exchange, but since you said that let it be an amount that you can afford to lose. That amount helped you save someone. However, instead of keeping your emergency funds in bitcoin, why don't you keep it in fiat where you will have easy access to reach and it will be more safer with the bank than with exchange. What if bitcoin price experience a heavy dip and the amount in the exchange depreciates below the amount that you bought, you will run at loss if you use it for emergency at that moment. It is good to keep your emergency funds in fiat at not in bitcoin. Bitcoin should be for long term hodli.
Not an emergency funds I was hitting on, maybe you didn't read my post well to have misunderstood my position. Bitcoin dipping shouldn't be a thing of worry for acknowledgeable bitcoinists because bitcoin unlike shitcoins will always rise back in price. Bank or exchange what difference does it makes considering that both entities are centralized.

To which do you prefer? That I leave money in bank with how inflation is at the increase or that I leave it in bitcoin in an exchange (since it's with an amount that I can lose).

Who is taking BRICS "as an instrument, like the euro"? Everybody knows that BRICS is a political union.

You just need to read the comments about Saudi Arabia ditching the Dollar and you know who does.
There are plenty of writers here on bitcointalk who believe that ditching the dollar will be done by BRICS. Not realizing that the private sector is the one who rules capital flows.

whether those who are in stand with the US $  against the BRICS corporation in opposition to dollarization agrees or disagrees with any significant level of effect and potential effects the corporation has had on the dollar in the past one year, the truth remains that the BRICS agenda has made the US sleepless with their economic hold on the global South now under threat. Let no pretend that the BRICS is not is metamorphosing into a large bloc as time flips. Which is why who ever believes that the BRICS could ditch the dollar is not wrong, logically.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / EEMERGENCY: in mempool congestion period on: June 15, 2024, 12:19:06 PM
I've read online in different platforms much about the disadvantages of exchanges and how having your coins saved in there isn't that safe to undertake. And I fraternize with those reasons which am not mistaken that the forum members are all aware of, except for some petty co-newbies.

But something happened yesterday, a sibling's wife was in labour due for delivery but out of certain complications the doctor booked her for a cesarean section for which he was asked to give part payment (an occurrence he never budgeted for). I got a call from him, he explained the situation to me and that what he has wasn't sufficient for the payment and he's sorting for my assistance.  On my end I just had a business expenses two day back that had left my bank account with nothing.

Quickly I decided to transfer a  negligible amount of coins from my self-custodial wallet to an exchange wallet to sell since it was an emergency matter of life. While on the process to do that I now remembered that there's a current congestion in mempool which has left people's transactions delayed for hours and for  some persons it's getting to days. What I did was to visit all of the exchanges account I have to see what's left there. To my amazement the little coins left there were able to amount to something after respective p2p trades.  And that was how I was able to come through for in assistance.

5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 09, 2024, 10:18:41 PM

So exciting to know my first bitcoin halving I will be experiencing as a bitcoin holder is in 10 days from today reading the counting down. The feeling is different when you're a partaker to the event to when you're merely a spectator. 150$ to 200$+ is where my expectations are projected at, it's achievable.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: April 09, 2024, 12:17:26 PM
Seeing this thread for the first time I love to participate in the challenge. I may not be pushing up close to a 100 as am not that strong to get to that number. I'll start by keeping track of 20 push ups a day, if I make progress on each day push 50 might be the next target  I don't know about a 100 right now that can't be possible for me and my size and importantly, my strength.

This can be a part to keeping my body in shape as per exercise, I know it won't be that simple to carry out but never say never.
7  Other / Off-topic / What do you suggest... on: April 08, 2024, 12:56:45 PM
The  recently days hasn't been a cool one for me adding to how usually choked my daily schedules are, am having a real time challenge contemplating forth and back on what choice to make. Am an industrious woman with different income streams, among others is that am also an employee in a private company. I have this car I gave out for a transportation business as a taxi to a driver whom I contracted with to remit an agreed cash amount each weekend. This has been going on smoothly as I can recall, it's been fetching me profits with the car in good shape for the past years.

Painfully for months now the car has been developing series of faults and it hasn't been rosy anymore with profit no more getting in as it were. Having spent much money fixing different faults with lesser gains due to resurgent repair faults developing again and again. I have been reflecting seriously on selling off the car use the money to add to my bitcoin investment portfolio as the repeated repairs has left me with no choice despite how the transport business has been profitable before now. I feel as though am impatient with the whole bearings. I need your suggestions, is it necessary I sell  the car to add the money to my portfolio  when currently I do have a fine amount of portfolio with my bitcoin investment. As a business woman am worried cutting one of my scattered source of getting money by selling off the car.
please help with your thoughts.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful about some messages to your DM on: April 08, 2024, 12:34:50 PM
I believe some members are already knowledgeable about such but also I still believe that some aren't. The forum is a big place and any big platform that discusses crypto-currency is always a target for scammers.

The forum has done so much to frustrate those fraudsters and I think it should be commended although this scammers are dogged with their actions. They do send messages to your DM with all sort of crazy format.

I have gotten some recently and I would be posting although I have edited the link so it won't be clickable.

Quote
Greetings mate
Judging by your merits and answers on the forum, you are an experienced user of cryptocurrencies
The fact is that a few months ago i was hired as a cryptocurrency consultant and journalist at a well-known cryptopotato
At the moment i am writing articles on the topic "Development of cryptocurrency in the current world order"
I can only get true and comprehensive knowledge from the members of this forum
This is not spam, scam or a prank
I collect statistics for some articles
If the article will be popular,i will share part of my profit with you
To be honest,i'm afraid to create a topic, because now, under the new rules, the merits of the account can be removed Cheesy
I'd be glad to talk to you

-Regards

I haven't checked the authenticity of this message but it already spells scam. I won't even want to find out if I am wrong or right on that.

Be careful about such newbies, they come with all these enticing stories all to draw you in and then telling you how it's not a scam. In your best interest it best not to find out so don't even click the link. I would find better ways to protect my DM from such in the future.

The scammer claim to have been recruited by the cryptopotatio as a cryptocurrency consultant and he has no true and comprehensive knowledge of cryptocurrencies. This is very laughable.

How do you get a crypto job without having knowledge about it. Who hires a dummy in an area of interest?

t's obvious it's a scam technique and he has to take it to the wrong person. It it was to be a newbie receiving this DM chances are that he would have fallen for it. Great to know about this that it doesn't matter the rank from whom a DM is coming from in the forum don't take it as genuine until proven true.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A curious Newbie!! on: March 20, 2024, 05:06:58 PM
Hi everyone, I'm a newbie with crypto knowledge though. I'm here to network. I see some beautiful profiles with lots of merits and I'm interested in being like that someday. How can that be achieved? Is it like a gift or something.. pls help 😎
Welcome to the forum, the merits can be earned when you make good posts and others find those posts helpful. Let's say if a member has 4 sMerits and he/she likes one of your posts then he/she can send you from 1 merit to 4 merits. If that person sends you 2 merits then you will earn 1 sMerit which you can send to someone whose post you like.

I hope now its clear to you that how those profiles have got those merits. In order to get merits you should try to make good and valuable posts and be active on the forum. Some people get good number of merits from their local boards, if you speak a language and there's a local board of that language then try to make some posts in your language on that local board on daily basis to earn some merits for your contribution in that local board.

I believe if you follow those steps then you will start getting some merits.

Thank you. Understood...Would you be kind to give me some merit as a welcome bonus? Ahaha. Appreciate it 😆
From your first post that started this discussion you claim to know a bit about cryptocurrency and that's an advantage for you unlike some newbies among us that don't have any first hand knowledge about cryptocurrency but are just starting off from the forum. I'll say you take that advantage you have to create good quality post as told by the user SamReomo you will be be worthy of receiving merits from not just him but from other members fascinated by the quality of your posts. With time we will get up the ranks too.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Success is a meaningless word without failure. on: March 20, 2024, 04:49:56 PM
In any success story their must be tales of failure within it . Most great people people in the world didn't become successful in a day most have to go through difficult parts before coming out successful .The Funny part is that many can withstand failures along the way and they still expect success in a haste how can that be ever possible.
Many successful business owners we know about their companies today still waxing strong had to build their success on countless times of failures they had to encounter from the onset of their start up even in their present but the whole difference of the failures of yesterday and that of today for them is that they had from wealth of experience understands how to minimize causes of failure and increase routes to more successes in their life.

As a trader failures shouldn't be a problem you should be afraid of but it's should be something you have to embrace because the more failure you encounter the more your experiences is broadening and the failures and lessing as you're using those past experiences to prevent make sure failures you had encountered before don't repeat.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 20, 2024, 04:33:51 PM

buying DIP is one of the best ways to get a big profit from the price movement of bitcoin until the time limit of how strong you hold it. but this can only be done by those who have a lot of money so that they can buy bitcoin as a whole.

I disagree with this statement where you said this can only be done by those who have alot of money so that they can buy Bitcoin as whole.

A dip is considered to be any price point that is below the ATH, hence any one can make purchases at that point and you must not necessarily have a lot of money to buy a whole Bitcoin before you can make purchases at a dip. Your statement can actually be misleading, the dip is when there is Price drop from the ATH any one can buy fractions of Bitcoin and not necessarily a whole Bitcoin.

And when there is a dip an investor tend to buy more Bitcoin with the same amount of money or probably make a lump sum buy and not necessarily buying a whole Bitcoin just as you said.
If profit is made by only those who have money to buy bitcoin at the dip as a whole  what's the essence of the exhaustive discussions about DCA from the beginning of this thread. The dip is an opportunity to make profit from both those holders that bought a lump sum and those that are with DCAing strategy, when the bull market is in place after all of this correction both the cda holders and those that bought bitcoin as a whole 1BTC will all make profit. What's important is keep stacking and holding for as long as it takes no matter the category of holder you fall in.
12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Happy women's day to every woman among bitcoin community. on: March 08, 2024, 03:13:45 PM
Women are a productive gift to society as without women society will go extinction but more than that women are exceptional.

Women shouldn't only be viewed as mothers alone but as people who has all the potential to accomplish and achieve milestone targets just like every man out there. If we are talking about bitcoin adoption today it wouldn't be complete without adding the role of women to that feat, that's why its important women should be giving equal place in the society, the undeniable truth is that society view women as weak because we have not been giving the much privileges but contemporary events has broken a lot of those barriers against women and am proud of that.

Am proud to be a woman, a mother, a career woman and a bitcoiner.

Hello everyone,

I'm Louce. I hope women are welcomed here. I'm new to the world of cryptocurrency, and this marks my first post here.i found this site on YouTube while doing some random watch and decided to give it a try.
Thank you.
hey sis, we have dozens of women in the forum and the system of anonymity prevents their identity to be demystified, count yourself as not the only woman in the community as we are many here although the men are with the highest number but that is not withstanding as it doesn't change a thing. welcome to the forum brace yourself with all the information that have been provide to you in earlier comments and get familiarized with the forum activities and rules of conduct. Bear the in mind in this forum knowledge is what counts and not gender.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Scams in Each Market Condition? on: March 08, 2024, 02:27:54 PM
It is at this bull run market season that scams are made rampant due to the excitement of investors about the season being a season of profit making, and they would wan t to come with these popularized scam technics we have made discovery of as co-members has listed in the above replies, it is therefore pertinent to stay vigilant by treating every unknown person, site, links, and offers online as a potential scam. its easier to fall for scams we don't know of than those we are privileged to know of that's why scammers will likely want to come with new unsuspecting technique but when we all treat all forms of attempt as a potential scam it makes it difficult for us to fall to scammers this season.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in healthcare on: March 08, 2024, 01:58:26 PM
Often times we attribute the benefit of Bitcoin only to financial and economic sector of various businesses and nations. Have we ever thought about the benefit that the  Bitcoin network will have if implemented on health care? Especially now that it is rising faster than we expected
Here are some of the benefit I can think of:

Data Security
Confidentiality of data is very essential for a health organization. Patient's data are not to be accessed by unauthorized personnel. The Bitcoin and Blockchain technology provides a decentralized and secure means of data storage. Leveraging on this technology will help to secure healthcare data.
In this aspect under confidentiality it could have made a sense to me if you were implying on having hospital patients data stored in a decentralized sort of wallet just as bitcoins are stored as to be accessible only to the holder in the case the patiently alone and whoever the patient gives access to his seed phrase but under a blockchain tech it's impossible for the confidentiality to be achieved. Don't forget that blockchain is decentralized and can be accessed by anyone and that's against medical ethics in exposing patients data to public.
16  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Green Energy Subsidies on: March 08, 2024, 01:25:27 PM
From a developing standpoint the only solution to energy consumption (regardless of it being "immense" or not as it is claimed) is to find an alternative mining algorithm that doesn't consume the same amount of energy but at the same time keeps the principles of Bitcoin such as decentralization intact.

So far the attempts made in the past with alternative algorithms (such as Proof of Stake) are introducing serious flaws into the system by changing the algorithm.
Still on the developers stand point,
I’ve come to understand that mining of Bitcoin have had a shift as per level of sophistication. From a time when all that was needed was just a device, a desktop was okay for the task and now, they’ve got sophisticated devices designed for the sole purpose of coming up with these calculations for block reward and confirmation of transactions.

This is largely due to the design by Satoshi Nakamoto as per difficulty level and block reward after the halving. With the fact that, these devices are the ones using up these energy, wouldn’t it make more sense for the company behind these devices design it in such a way that, it’s able to use less energy or perhaps have some backup energy source to switch to remotely, creating a time out for conventional energy source like the fossil fuel.
Maybe the developers haven't thought about making such level of sophisticated devices for less energy consumption with yet same (or improved)  performance and results. But my strong guess is that they might have nursed the idea before you conceived it to mind but as a business are giving it time to make substantial profits from the design of the current devices, and probably in no distant years to come they would decide to make such designs available to address the problem of energy consumption to a considerable measure.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DO NOT plug random cables and sticks into your device. on: February 10, 2024, 01:18:00 PM
When they say avoid plugin unnecessary devices to your device it is actually for our own good. Especially the USB device it is an easy way for people who wants to harm or steal a file that is important to us from our devices without us being aware of what is coming. Seen it on movies and most persons think it's just an act but it is not. In reality there are professional hackers who work for all these scam companies, and they do the dirty work for them. However, the temptation is much so some people cannot withhold the urge to see what is in the USB that is why up till this day people are still falling victims in this kind of attacks because of ignorance.
To say the worse isnt it madness that a supposed enlightened crypto holder would find a lone USB or flash drive and will of all places to check what's inside it is a gadget in which he has his crypto stored he chooses to use in doing that. to be plain such a person doesn't deserve owning a bitcoin by carrying such a lame act. Intermittently we contribute to making this hackers appear very smart and wise by an act of stupidity on our end that ordinarily we don't need an elementary certificate to know about it and doing the right simple things.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you have a hard time bringing new people to the forum? on: February 10, 2024, 12:44:57 PM
Honestly no. Because I don’t set any goals to bring people closer to the forum or to invest in bitcoin. Let them discover on their own. Because if they really aim to make big changes in their lives, they will find their way to the forum or to make themselves acquainted with bitcoin. Otherwise, pushing them or convincing them into what I think is right might only lead to blame me in the future when everything does not work as planned, so I just let the people around find its way to this forum or to bitcoin.
Bitcoin is no more something we have to sit people and start giving tutorial on based on its popularity and the internet makes it simple that serious people that have heard about the word bitcoin will on their own make use of the internet to do their own research through which a number of the questions the person/people might punch in will lead them to bitcointalk forum for answers, and that's a self discovery for them.
You don't have to preach to people if you don't want to in the avoidance of blames should things out of their own mistakes and greed goes wrong leading them to a financial.
19  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politics and interest on: February 10, 2024, 12:18:56 PM
War! The media today has been part of the factions that fuels and incite some of the wars we having in recent times. T he manner at which the paint stories that makes the news about issues concerning two factions at war its enough to exacerbate issues. some news we get from the media if we do our own personal digging about the real stories as it happened we won't be taking up arms and exchanging attacking words on each other. The media today breaks the news as it suits them to the attraction of  sympathy to their favoured side in the warring factions.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 23, 2024, 12:25:30 PM

Now, the mum is calling on everyone she could to intervene, discipline the child and force him to provide the money in any means he can without the concern of how he could refund the money.
oh the parent would have really felt disappointed right now as she didn't raised the child that way.

Anyways, the child shouldn't just be disciplined for discipline sake but should be chastised in a manner that points to the danger of his actions and, he shouldn't be required to provide the money he had stolen and used to gamble, it could lead to worse case scenario if you know what i mean.
