1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Sha-256/PoW-PoS hybrid/Bounty Opportunities on: August 09, 2014, 08:36:41 PM
Other devs have created coin after coin with little to no utility for the purposes of getting practice at coding, feeding their greed or sheer ignorance of the futility of their efforts. Somehow you immediately stand out as different. Your mind seems to naturally assemble the very best elements from this community and to craft novel ones to fill the gaps to create a product with a single stroke that addresses the nearly each and every need in the crypto community.
Every type from devs, traders, investors, outlaws, philosophers, anarchists, and those that just want privacy and security when it comes to their transacting with the world need exactly what you've brought to the table. And the bit that amazes me most is that you seem to be able to address every angle each type brings to the discussion at their own level! Keep that mind of yours polished and ready to be admired by the likes of myself and others, James. I'm quite sure it'll eventually be the world over that profits from the fruits of your efforts.

why is it that registration to the FIMK forum requires admin approval? That sort of closed door policy has got to be hurting the community's interests. People will certainly ask why a product purportedly created in the spirit of decentralization requires a screening process to enter into a discussion with their peers. It's sort of antithetical isn't it?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DGEX.com multicurrency exchange BTC <-> NXT on: August 09, 2014, 03:17:33 PM
Account id #2763

still waiting on a FIMK withdrawal 72+ hours. Access to my transaction history was possible when the new site went online and it showed a pending withdrawal but now nothing appears under my history tab. My coin still hasn't hit my fimk account.

Can anyone help with this? Please just cancel the transaction

looks like we've lost a little momentum on the bter voting. Come on guys. With a community as great as this, we should definitely be on the the top of that list! Cheesy

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NFO] Ethereum = Scam on: July 26, 2014, 04:15:29 AM
Ethereum is posted i see today as the big new story at Coindesk !
and i made a comment on it but it's of course awaiting moderation so i bet they will delete it.

Bottom line it's a dumb idea and it's an IPO and IPO's in crypto are ALL scams.
My advice to people is to avoid shit like this and notice who is jamming it down your throat too !
i came here today and out of nowhere page one is bloated with Ethereum topics.

i am going to copy what i posted at Coindesk to explain the reasoning behind why i think IPO's are scammy.

Note:
I just checked and Coindesk let me post my comment and replied "LOL"
i LOL'd too hhaha

ok so with out further ado, here is your new opinion everyone (the correct one) ..your welcome Wink

reference = http://www.coindesk.com/ethereum-launches-ether-coin-millions-already-sold/

Or don't and suffer the consequences and roll out the cliche's Crypto-Excuses™ i hear ever day lol

and.. and..
This comment is (of course) awaiting moderation LOL

We must differ in our definition of scams. Certainly some or even most of IPO's are failures (some are scams), but a large number of IPO's have generated profit for their adopters as well as their devs. In the case of NXT, there seems to be a lasting value ascribed to the coin by the community. Developers have flocked to it, and arguably much of the innovation in the crypto world today happens within the NXT ecosystem. It has yet to fail or fall short of any of its major development goals, whereas countless POW distribution models fail to implement anything new --often cloning the efforts of others and re-branding it. How could you say NXT (distributed by IPO) is a scam? An uneven distribution is certainly a drawback to my personal valuation of the coin, but to the thousands of other users who've invested millions of $ and/or participate actively in its community it is no more a scam than Bitcoin or the NYSE for that matter.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading bots be banned? on: July 26, 2014, 03:57:48 AM
Bots usually play a conservative logical strategy that can be worked around or even used to your advantage if you figure out exactly what that strategy is by feeling one out. I think you'd have more to fear from the sort of conspiratorial manipulation of price perpetrated by well-funded small groups (sometimes even individuals) across all the major exchanges. They're responsible for the instability in most markets. The unreasonable highs and lows and constant swinging value of popular coins is mostly a product of their efforts.
