1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin create an opportunity to reduce poverty? on: December 20, 2023, 10:18:53 AM
Bitcoin can create an opportunity to help reduce the rate of poverty to an extent like 20% if 70% of the entire population is aware of and invests in bitcoin, though bitcoin has limited liquidity. I believe if 70% of the population of the world understands the value of bitcoin and invests in it, it will create an opportunity to reduce poverty because bitcoin will make a lot of people understand investing and how money can be shared, although poverty cannot be eradicated because there will always be a winner and a loser due to FOMO, or level of greed, which is the screen of wealth creation.

What are your own thoughts?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Eradicate Poverty on: December 20, 2023, 10:11:53 AM
Poverty can never be eradicated
But at most reduced to a certain extent
As long as there's winners
There would always be losers
Everybody can't meet their basic needs
That's the sad truth about life
If everybody is given a million dollar
Then the minimum price for every commodity would be around same range.
Now moving back to your topic
No Bitcoin can't eradicate poverty nor can it actively reduce it.
Bitcoin is a currency
Currency doesn't reduce poverty.
Bitcoin is also an opportunity and opportunities reduce poverty.
In all my ramblings the conclusion is Bitcoin can create an opportunity to reduce poverty.

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happen if Bitcoin shutdown? on: December 18, 2023, 05:36:43 PM
I am just wondering, what will happen if Bitcoin shutdown? Will the market crash? How about the effect of this to altcoins? Can government shutdown Bitcoin? I have a lot of question about this matter, because who knows, right? Also, how about hackers shutdown Bitcoin? What are your thought here? Let's discuss this.

If the father of the crypto (bitcoin) shutdown today it will cause alot of pain, and the government will mock investors of bitcoin. While 90% of altcoin will be affected if not also short-down or worthless. i believe that is why the advocate of bitcoin stay awake to protect the investment, not to allow that happen although anything is possible.

If the government have the power to shortdown crypto, they will have done that long time ago, but they are still trying. Hackers are trying to enrich themselves, not to shortdown the mainstream of crypto. the advocates or those behind the crypto market understand all this question that is why Santosi still remain anonymous till date to avoid compromise.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risk and reward of having Bitcoin on: December 18, 2023, 04:57:54 PM
There is a saying that what ever had an advantage also had a disadvantage, why am saying this is because most people especially the newbie's thinks when having Bitcoin the situation is always win win win. So I will be listing a few of the advantages and disadvantages of having it.
disadvantage of having it

*The high volatility attach to it can be very risky.

We should all understand that without up and down in life there is movement (profit or loss). The volatility of bitcoin brings about the sweetness of the game. as we all know, everything in life is a game.

Every successful investment comes first with knowledge of it. Most of the listed disadvantages will be minimized if the investor or holder of bitcoin is aware of the pros and cons of bitcoin.

if we look it from another angle, alot of investors are attracted to bitcoin because of its high volatility, which can make profit within short period of time.
The bottom line is knowledge help you to stay ahead of time in the game of Cypto.

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin as digital currency on: December 18, 2023, 04:45:26 PM
No government should prohibit the ownership of this technology

. I mean this is freedom money just like national value is freedom and bitcoin
Is the word dream money.

But the way we can achieve more of the dream is  when bitcoin freedom is
Intact and when are able to save bitcoin for our future and our family. thats what bitcoin is all about.

Bitcoin is freedom money for those who understand how to use of it, bitcoin is not permitted in all countries, it is use in every country by those who understand its potential and buy it through DEX. it become freedom money when you invest in it with discipline and consistency for long term investment.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You will burn on: December 18, 2023, 04:07:15 PM
Just as the title of this thread,  your investment will burn when you accumulate more shit coin than Bitcoin, most of us newbie think that since shit coin gives higher return, they actually don't know that investing in shit coin instead of Bitcoin is suicidal.

I have  learnt my lesson for the recent bearish, before the bearish, i bought shit coin with 93$  but, today is 90$ because the price reduce drastically, i doubt if the price will go back to the price i bought it because the more i look the more it go down. think to sell it to avoid more loss.

It seems i will just focus on bitcoin the king of crypto, to have further panic about shitcoin, since am a newbie.
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Everything has changed on: December 17, 2023, 03:02:01 PM
I don't know whether what I'm feeling other people are feeling it or am just having this feeling based on the country where I'm located, or am feeling this way because of age and responsibility. Before now everything was easy for the rich , poor, and middle class, you can even be happy without having any money with you. But this time it seems different,  you can still have money but still their is is no inner joy. Now even the people around are not real and genuine but fake, can even betray for free. Is it that as the world is evolving people are changing too.

That is the honest truth about our generation now: due to the pressure within and outside, bills are increasing daily, and political policies are not friendly with faithful businessmen and entrepreneurs. Like you said, gone are those days when you could be happy even if you didn't have much due to a smiling environment, but now everybody is just pretending to smile at others to get from others. It is rare to have a faithful partner now in business or other aspects of life because of the pressure to meet bills.

But the secret to happiness is to be open-minded and faithful in all your dealings, because even a thief is looking for someone to trust.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All thanks to my family they contributed and bought bitcoin for me on: December 17, 2023, 02:40:37 PM
I don't want the year to come to an end without having any Bitcoin. I have seen a lot of people here talking about their bitcoins and how their investments are going. The thing that gets me depressed the most is when I hear about the halving next year and how bitcoin prices may be influenced positively. I wish i could just have some amount of Bitcoin. However, seeing the price of bitcoin now i became restless if the price will soon go higher and i may not afford it. So i pleaded with my parents if they could support me. Seeing how curious i am they helped me with some amount in my local currency so i used it to buy Bitcoin. Help me thank them for what they have done for me. Am so happy right now.

This is the amount in my local currency i believe it will get me up to 90 dollars of bitcoin. I am waiting for my friend who will help me buy it by the weekend.

Thank you mom, Thank you dad. And thank you Bitcointalk.

Congratulation OP, Thanks for the supportive relationship you have; they did a great job encouraging you on your journey to invest in bitcoin. There is an adage that says, "To whom much is given, much is expected." That is, you owe your trust in the investment by staying focused and investing more in the portfolio. Because 90 dollars of bitcoin will only generate little profit in a long-term investment, investing more will help you add to the portfolio over time using DCA (dollar cost averaging). Once again, thanks to your parents and relatives who support you on this journey.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is supply and demand ? on: December 17, 2023, 11:54:55 AM
How to identify?

I am also new member here though, I don't think this is good way to create a topic, because I believe 99.9% of people here understand what supply and demand is and what they mean.

Simply put supply means surplus, while demand mean scarcity of an asset, item or thing. Both demand and supply is an event that happen with time.

For example when Bitcoin value was $1 per unit, Bitcoin was surplus then, compare it to now when Bitcoin has limited supply which brought about increased in it price and value, now is between $41k-$44k.

Both demand and supply are factor that affect price of a commodity.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I finally sold my computer and bought bitcoin. I don't regret . on: December 17, 2023, 10:55:46 AM
I sold my computer and bought about 0.006 bitcoin.
For the rest of money, I saved them in my bank account.
I hope this decision is right.

I don't know why you choose to sell your laptop to invest in Bitcoin, but the question is do you have other gadget, if you have they is fine, because it will definitely pay later for longtime investment.

For the remaining money, I think is best to focus DCA to invest more rather than saving it in the bank. Thos will help you add value to your portfolio, note money save in the bank is not a portfolio rather a liability either to the bank or you.
12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What if we had only one language? on: December 16, 2023, 06:40:38 PM
So I have been wondering what if we had only one language?

What if all the countries of the world speaks just one language, would it have brought peace and unity in the world?

What's even the scientific explanation to the different languages we have in the world?

What if is an imaginative statement; the truth is that the chance of having one language is narrow or does not exist. Language brings about relationships, but the thought of man can be different; that is where peace and unity come in. I think the reason we have so much language is because of the trust issue, which emanates from the thought of man.

Here is my conclusion about language bringing about peace and unity: if the whole world has one language, peace and unity only come and stay when the thoughts of men are the same. Although language can aid both, though and honesty will make it possible.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is wiser? on: December 16, 2023, 02:03:18 PM
At the current market condition and having bull run in mind, these persons have $10,000 to invest.

  • Mr. Bob goes 100% with bitcoin.
  • Miss Alice goes 50% bitcoin and 50% random altcoins.
  • Mr. Theymos goes with bitcoin but $100 weekly DCA.

Every investment is a game of choice played with informed information; each of them might be the wise person based on the information they have access to. But one thing is certain: the outcome is the proof of the wise on.

Mr. Theymos has a good and cool strategy for buying with dollar cost averaging, which will enable him to buy more due to the volatility of bitcoin in a short time frame.

Miss Alice Strategy seems to be an informed strategy because she might have seen potential in other altcoins as a trader.

Mr. Bob goes 100% with bitcoin because he might have a long-term investment decision, or that is the price for his DCA for a specific time.

In investment, everyone tries to play it safe based on their knowledge and how they can control the level of fear and greed.

I think Mr. Theymos is the wise one here because he has the advantage of buying more due to dip time.

14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does power really corrupt? on: December 16, 2023, 12:47:48 PM
Power doesn't really corrupt. It simply increases the corruption that is already in all people.

Cool

I love this; this statement is simple and mighty. Power always comes with energy that brings out the true selves of those who possess it.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unstable prices of cryptocurrency on: December 16, 2023, 12:24:32 PM

So my question is that can't it be possible for someone to buy bitcoins and hodl it at a specific price such that even if the price dips it won't affect the Bitcoins you have hodl in your wallet?

It is not possible to buy and hold bitcoin at a specific price, and the price will remain the same despite the dip after you purchase. Remember, if things were to be so, then the game of investment would not be complete. The benefit of every investment is to make  profit at a specific time when there is a change in the price of the asset. Note that the value of bitcoin will remain the same; the only change is the price.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoin do to Bank what email did to the post office? on: December 15, 2023, 12:10:23 PM
Bitcoin is changing the payment system in the world right now. Payments made in Bitcoin are always fast to receive and do not days to receive.

I do not agree that bitcoin will replace fiat currency because 70 out of 100% of its owners view it as an investment, which may make it impossible for bitcoin to take over the banking system.

Remember, bitcoin is a limited asset. And government owns the banking system and will not allow it to fail as a way to control the flow of money in the economy.

If bitcoin were to become as common as email is to the post office, either the system or its advocates would betray the public and turn bitcoin into a centralised currency rather than a decentralised one. At that point, the government would seize control of the entire system.
For these reasons, I think bitcoin will not do to the bank what email will do to the post office.

I am so amazed with the information I got for the post and question. It is good to be here. Now I am confident in investing in Bitcoin with some percentage of my income, thanks to everyone who shared their valuable knowledge with me.

I will do my research with the information shared so far.
Thanks  @ everyone once again.

Bitcoin as payment option for clients

I recently joined this great forum as a UI/UX designer who's interested in investing in Bitcoin. I've decided to use the Bitcoin payment option so that I can start investing in Bitcoin straight with my earnings because my interest in Bitcoin investing has increased.

1. How can the transaction process be optimized for maximum security?
2. What metrics are available for measuring transactions?
3. Which wallet is the best to safeguard my funds and ward off con artists and hackers?
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and patience on: December 12, 2023, 09:52:49 AM
Bitcoin as a digital asset has taught me that patience is the key.

It's near impossible to be successful in crypto without patience, investing is another thing, knowing how to hold is another thing also.
Almost all the crypto millionaire in the crypto space are good holders, think about that!!

Monitoring the price of your holdings everyday will earn you nothing, but since we are all humans, it will makes us want to react to some price changes which is not good for the goal of getting filthy rich in the crypto space.

Patience is the key to all successful investments, and it includes thoughtful risk management. Because of the volatility of the market, digital currencies such as bitcoin demand patience in addition to a measured risk. It will be simpler for you to make decisions free from greed and fear once you are aware of this.

Seeing or examining the market price every second stimulates fear and greed, which could negatively influence your decision. One of the best ways to make a safe long-term investment in the cryptocurrency market is to use dollar-cost averaging (DCA).
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that visionary leaders make great CEOs? on: December 12, 2023, 07:22:58 AM

Being a visionary is not the problem, but you need people around you who are the same as you. The ability to shape the future is not easy and not a job for average people. But it is also true and I agree with you that visionary leaders do not make great CEO. When you are dealing with same-minded people, you will gain success. But when it comes to a huge industry, it's a whole different story. But this is what makes them unique and despite having a bad reputation, they are at the top of the world.

Visionary CEO will give you ideas and work, it is up to the employee to figure out how to do it so that they can do it in an efficient way. If you can't do it, then leave. There might be other people who are better than you. And no one can deny that fact.

Great CEOs are visionary leaders, which is the result of the people around them. Nothing is great without great minds working together, which is where the work lies. It is very uncommon for two intelligent people to collaborate, but when great minds do, success results because both of them are visionary leaders who make great CEOs.
