1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Apple is letting Bitcoin back in. on: August 09, 2014, 11:30:12 PM
This is a great thing! I really do prefer Apple over Android and Windows phones! I think it is easier to use. People with Android phones always have tons of extensions showing them their CPU usage and memory footprint. I don't want to take care of those things if I'm using my freaking phone. It should just work and be fast and simple!
I think a lot of people prefer the iPhone to an Android. The iPhone is generally safer to use as anyone can create and public an app for Android phones (and there is no vetting process for the apps). As a result there are a large number of apps that contain malware that will steal data and do other harm. There are almost no (if not none) similar apps for the iPhone.

Sure. Continue believing that.

Funny you should mention speed. I have a Nexus 5 and a Nexus 7 running Android L, and they both out-speed iThingies..

I've been lurking for a long time and figured I would finally post Wink

I have got to say that Bitcoin is totally awesome! I just purchased some bits and hosting all from my Nexus 5! The even more awesomer thing? I didn't have to enter any personal information! (Well, not entirely true: I did at Coinbase so I can buy bits instantly Smiley)

Anyway, thanks for creating this wonderful community.

Congrats, bitcoin IS awesome. I'm sure you're aware, but try not to keep all your bitcoin savings in coinbase. Move them somewhere safer like a cold wallet. Smiley

I'm using bitstamp to store my savings (less than 1 btc Cheesy ), do you think I should move them to a local wallet?

Hell yes! Never trust an online web wallet with any high amount of money.

I'm trying to install bitcoin-qt too but it's syncing from yesterday.

That is normal. Wait a bit and enjoy the advantage of the wallet Wink

Light wallets are fine too, like Multibit which doesn't have to download the whole blockchain.

I love lite wallets too. They're "plug n' play". Just download and install it to a USB stick and you got an offline wallet.

That's my goal. I primarily plan to use Coinbase like PayPal. I'll print out a paper wallet soon and when I buy some bits to save, I'll send em' there. It's just nice having the ability to buy instantly. That's how Coinbase got me hooked.

Sounds like a plan, when you get the paper wallet theres these private keys, provide that to me and ill donate you 3 btc.

Lets test how much you know about bitcoin.

Nope! I don't want you spending my Bitcoins Wink
