2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Can long term rollovers work in sports betting?? on: July 19, 2024, 09:34:08 AM
We all play sports betting for different reasons, some play for fun and some play for the purpose of getting that extra funds
You can't always rely on betting to give you the money you need but still some people claim to be in profit from sports betting
From my experience long term rollovers can be very risky and uncertain, if your target is 1.30 odds for a month
It looks pretty easy considering the odds, but the question is, can you be lucky everyday?
Can you always win the bet for 30 days without having a bad day even if you have a good strategy
I always tell people that withdrawing your profit after a game is the best thing to do from my experience
Let's say you play a game of 1.30 odds with 2000 naira, it's wise to withdraw your profit and stake again the next day
So that even if it goes sideways your loss will be minimized. This is just my idea about this
You can share your ideas and strategies on this topic
3  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Instead of scamming do something legal on: July 19, 2024, 06:41:30 AM
First of all we can all agree that people see fraud as an easy way out of the matrix and an easy way out of the system of learning and hard work. The funny thing is before you start the journey of going into it you must learn, in other words
You must go through a teaching process, you must take notes and be consistent. This brings you back to learning and hard work
Which people try to avoid, if you have to work that hard doing all that, why not do something legal cause at the end that hard work will still pay off. Don't do things the right way for the wrong things, put in all that energy to learning something that would be profitable to you in the nearest future
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Addiction is 100% your choice: on: July 16, 2024, 07:19:16 PM
Almost 90% of the people who have a thing against gambling do so because they feel that gambling is addictive. But come to think of it, isn't addiction a choice? After reading lots of stories on the effects of being an addicted gambler, I feel it's 100% possible to tell myself that I can never be addicted to gambling and won't ever get addicted.

If for instance, I decide that I'm only going to gamble once a week and that at each time I will only gamble with an amount like $20 based on my current financial strength, would I ever become addicted to gambling?  Isn't it because you don't have any plan in place and just gamble as your spirit leads that makes you become careless with your gambling and become addicted to the process? Just want to ask this question;

Can you comfortably tell yourself that you have never been addicted to gambling and that you can never be addicted to gambling because of how you go about it?

In everything we do we must apply moderation, it's very possible to have a plan and limit but still fall into addiction of constant playing
Due to greed and other things. Gambling has a dopamine effect on the brain, most gamblers that are addicted and dealing with this problem are going through this. Even after winning they still find themselves playing more till they lose everything they have
Repeating the cycle of winning and losing gives them a sense of satisfaction even if it's ruining them constantly
Thats the dopamine effect of it.
Discipline is key, whether you think you are addicted or not do not let your life be centered around gambling
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: July 16, 2024, 10:50:10 AM
Hi everyone,

The way you play, which we can consider your playing strategy, plays an important role in determining your profit or loss, like other factors.

For me, when I play, I enter with the intention of double the amount of money and stop. This method may be followed by some people, and I do it sometimes. I determine the amount of money that I will gamble with, for example $100 and I try to get $200 and leave the casino or site if the plan worked  very well. If I am unlucky, once I lose $100, I will leave without adding a penny. What is interesting here is that even if I win, I stop and do not deviate from the scope of the plan. In such situations, especially when winning, the gambler may become greedy, and this may change the course of the game   .

What do you think of this method?
Is there anyone among you who does it?
Give us one of your winning strategies, of course if that is possible.

I agree but from my experience it is very difficult to overcome greed, because its human nature
The more you win, the more you keep on trying not knowing the outcome of these trials
Casinos are very easy to trap you in the constant loop of not being able to quit after doubling your money, especially when you start chasing your losses
Having a strategy isn't a bad idea, but always remember that those strategies can't guarantee your profit everyday
To me I would say that the easiest betting strategy to work with is just making 100 percent of your capital In a week
So if we are looking at it in terms of odds it's 2odds per week
Not exceeding beyond 2 odds weekly is a good plan and could help minimize losses
Once you Ve gotten 2 odds for that week don't play till the next week
6  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: My Opinion Concerning Holding on: July 16, 2024, 10:41:13 AM
Holding any Cryptocurrency, mostly Bitcoin is one of the investment plan one could create for themselve, especially those that are holding for a long-term, I believe those that held during the bear market till the past halving would understand my point and enjoyed the benefits that comes with Holding, I must commend them cause it's not an easy task and comes with discipline.

Infact I consider anyone holding in this current economic situation as a very disciplined person, I think they must have other sources of income before embarking on such journey if not I wonder how any Nigerian would be able to hold for long in this present situation of the country with just one source of income, if there's anyone here then I must commend you for your discipline,  cause on a normal Nigeria would humble you and you'll be forced to sell.

With that being said I think and I've concluded that those holding currently must have numerous sources of income to do so, I might be wrong though. Well, people might say one is putting their future at risk if they don't invest by holding Cryptocurrency but then people with one source of income would be putting themselves at risk of holding if they don't eat, lol. it's easier to preach about holding but with the current economic situation of Nigeria not much people are holding.

In my opinion I would say that crypto faces a future with so many unknown outcomes and the prices are volatile,
Therefore risk management should be inculcated. The financial market can be affected by so many factors, it is Wise to always withdraw
60 percent while in profit and you can decide to hold 40 percent.
Always remember that you are not in control of the market, anything can happen at the end of the day
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin the Dubmest Thing Ever Invented on: April 30, 2024, 08:22:34 AM
Bitcoin is the dumbest thing ever invented.
If you think Bitcoin is dumb then why you're present on this forum? If you don't like the idea of Bitcoin and find it useless then I believe someone like you should not be part of the forum that's a place for Bitcoin community. You need some research I believe, no I think you may need some treatment so you can understand Bitcoin properly.
For me I think he is just a troll that needs people to actually notice him just like the other fella who always shares post about how he is the original Satoshi Nakamoto and the owner of the forum. Sometimes when I see post like this, ignoring them is probably the best thing but with that being said how can someone even think of uttering such nonsense that Bitcoin is the dumbest thing created, well it's simple if you like being a financial slave to the system then you are free to go but other who don't know the importance of BTC.

Big man thank you very much for pointing this out and this na the reason why dem say make person dey careful well well before making any transaction on exchange especially when e get to do with P2P transaction and another thing again wey fit cause say person no go dey observant of such thing na say the person dey in a hurry to trade the coins because so many people dey make that mistake.

Lastly, whatever property you have decided you must sell off,  you could always sell divide the money, use part of the money realized to invest in bitcoin stead of using all of it, and then using the other amount remaining to buy another of that property elsewhere for a lower rate.
It's never advisable in the first place to be selling your property but there is a clause to that action which is, if the particular property isn't all that useful and maybe served it's purpose then selling it off isn't a bad ideas so far as the money gotten is used for better things then we are good to go especially if it's used for an investment means and not just any investment atleast something that can earn you profit in time coming and Bitcoin is the right place to throw such money.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: April 30, 2024, 07:58:08 AM
[edited out]
I also had that feeling that it will get to $80k and above before the halving because as of then the market price was on a high speed without any barrier, at least it didn't stay at an exact amount for a week or two.
To be sincere with you I don't think the market price is on the positive side, it hasn't been the same since the count down to the halving period, it still doesn't mean that the market price won't get to $70k anytime soon, no but I believe that this week won't showcase a negative sign and before the end of this month those who are holding without patience would keep calm and enjoy Bitcoin price heading towards $80k.

Why would anyone hold without patience?

If they were planning to sell some BTC but they did not, and then the BTC price drops 10-19%, then maybe they should consider buying some more.. .. or yeah, otherwise, they are waiting to sell the next time the BTC price goes up, and hopefully out of their anxiousness (lack of patience) they do not end up selling too many too soon
Too much anxiety and worries of taking profit will lead to lack of patience and selling too much in a short time, forgetting about the benefits of hodling without selling too soon. I think that those that are eager to sell, are those that believe more in selling than hodli. If not I don't see the reason why anyone that have not accumulated a significant amount of bitcoin will be eager to sell at this price level.

This is the best time to buy more Bitcoin, because it might be possible that we will not see this price level till the next bear market. I only care about the price of bitcoin to see when I can take advantage of the price to buy more, and not because I want to sell.
The urge to sell is the typical example of someone who didn't come prepared in setting up his investment because if he had done proper research and evaluation, he or she would have known that this particular period of time is actually a short break for investors to tidy and buckle up in terms of gathering ahead of the supposed bull run at front because like you said this particular price might not be seen again till probably the next bear run and if anything made you sold too early then that means you have missed out and that's why the plan of having an investment for longer term is probably the best option to go with to avoid all drama's of sell, buy, sell ,buy.....
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How possible is it to win lottery 14 times using mathematics calculations on: March 27, 2024, 08:38:31 AM

Navigating through articles online got me attracted to a catchy caption yet disturbing (the link posted below).
I am  a stern believer that gambling. Which I believe that lottery is, is purely a game of luck rather than skills or expertise.
How this managed to happen repeatedly for 14 times means it's not just luck, something else must have happened.

https://www.unilad.com/news/mathematician-won-lottery-14-times-317063-20231230

Leave your opinion if you think it's 100% luck to be  winner or there is a particular skill needed.

The game of lottery is a game of luck... thinking that mathematical strategies will work is a big mistake, these games are controlled by the bookmakers, it's very impossible to win mathematically
Just play the game and hope for the best
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Are crash games profitable??? on: March 25, 2024, 05:26:31 PM
A lot of youths in Africa are into aviator and a lot of other crash games... what's interesting is that 90 percent of these young people have skills, jobs and sources of income,..why are we playing these games when the odds are constantly against us.
People come up with patterns trying to understand the algorithm of these games but from my experience these games have no pattern
They are been controlled by the bookmakers, out of a 100 percent the chances of winning is 10 percent
After winning more than 4 times In a row just know that losses is bound to happen even if you don't lose that same day
Crash games are not going to give you that extra source of income you are looking for.
Using the martingale system in these games is quite risky because sometimes you might lose 20 times in a row
And continuing in this system will make you an addict,, protect your financial life at all cost, stake what you can afford to lose and be disciplined

14  Economy / Gambling / Re: My betting strategies on: March 10, 2024, 02:50:24 PM
I know everyone has their own strategy and somehow most people can be using same strategy that I am about to share here.
The strategies includes:

1. Club position: most times the position of a club matters a lot because it tells you whether a club is striving to top the table or whether they are striving to leave relegation zone.

2. Point: This is another strategy i use while betting because it also tells you whether a club can or will loss a match or not,  sometimes a club can be topping a league with 8 -10 point difference and because of this point difference they can decide to play anyhow they want better still reserve players for more important match because whether they loss or win they are still topping the league.
However, a club that has this point difference,  let say they are  expecting a champions league quarter or semi finals, it is very possible that they can loss or draw their league by reserving  players for the upcoming champions league.

3. Head to head: a club head to head (history)  is very important because sometimes it could be that the people topping the league always loss or draw with the people fighting to go out of relegation.  No matter how form the people topping the league is the possibility or chance of losing the match is 80% because of their history that's why sometimes you see a big club always losing to a small club.
These are mine strategies and there are some i can't remember for now, try this and thank me later.

Good strategies, but most times checking head to head doesn't help,  history always tend to repeat itself, that's true but football is very unpredictable...most times the outcome of a game might not depend on how the teams have played against themselves in previous matches...at the end of the day it's just a game of luck
15  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: March 09, 2024, 10:16:59 PM
https://nypost.com/2023/01/15/gambler-loses-massive-1-4-million-bet-on-chargers-jaguars-game/
Quote
One bettor wasted a massive $1.4 million wager after betting on Los Angeles before the Jaguars mounted an epic comeback to beat the Chargers 31-30, according to Action Network’s Darren Rovell.

It seems that a gambler has loss this massive amount (1.4 million USD) playing a bet with an odds lower than 1.01! (exactly 1.008)

I think there are several lessons here:
- there is not easy bet! even lower odds there is always a risk.
- it's really risky playing an huge amount. This not helps gambler because the risk is much much higher then rewards!
- gambling is not easy at all! it's really hard achieve a profit even for easy games!

what your opinion about this gambling issue? did you had experience similar experience? how a good gambler should avoid such mistakes?

Football is unpredictable, speaking as someone that's into soccer betting...no matter how small the odds are, there's nothing safe
At the end of the day it's better you play a significant odd like 2 to 3 odds for more value and staking what you can afford to lose
Even if u get it wrong with proper analysis you can get  your money back within two or three days
If you know what you are doing, out of 7 times a week you can get it right for four days
Four days should give u profit in a week... another option is short football on paripesa or 1xbet... getting small odds are not as hard as real  soccer
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sir Garry's betting tips for today on: February 21, 2024, 04:01:02 PM
Do you only place multiple bets or do you also place single bets?
I notice that you bet more on the Premier League

At the moment I bet on the Brazilian league, the Portuguese, the Champions and the Europa League, as well as international matches, but my betting style is focused on single bets, in the Portuguese league I bet on multiples and occasionally I bet on the number of goals

But I'm still analyzing your betting style. Don't you like to include some riskier bets to increase the odds?

Adding some riskier options might not be a good idea, although nothing is 100 percent, even the selection with small odds fail to Play out sometimes...but it's better to play safe, especially if you are a high staker

Do you talk about your position (rank)?

Do you know how the rank system works, merits, activity etc?
Here's a good place to start: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0 and the Beginners section too: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0

To increase your rank you need to participate more in the forum, create good posts or threads, participate in more threads, over time you will learn more, but if you have any question you can ask
I keep an eye on your predictions because I always pick up tips from the people who post here

Thanks for the encouragement
