2  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and the world economy. (How has crypto contributed to the world economy) on: September 18, 2025, 09:25:04 PM
What contributions has the introduction of cryptocurrency made to the world economy. Many countries mostly in the African region has banned activities involving cryptocurrency while some have legalized it's use.

What effects has Bitcoin or other digital coins caused that have made these international bodies to take the various decisions they have made. Is it that it has posed a great threat to the economic system of some other countries and in the same time help lifted the operations of the others?

What do you think is the major issue or reason here?
Crypto currency has contributed a lot in the world economy , it has made many people rich. Those people that bought Bitcoin during 2012 and 2015 have made many profits than what altcoins can not give them. Bitcoin is an online asset and it's unrestricted. Even when your country have not legalize it you can also invest in it. Bitcoin gives us options, if you are scared of the Bitcoin technology you can choose not to use it. Some countries are scared of the Bitcoin technology that is why they haven't made it legal , it's your chose to use it. Some people are using Bitcoin and they are benefiting from the crypto currency.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The main thing is to stop in time. on: September 18, 2025, 08:15:45 PM
No body should gamble with the hopes of improving their financial status with gambling because is not a way through which one can use in bettering their financial status, financial success can't be guaranteed in gambling instead gambling only exposes one to more financial losses so anyone who is thinking about using gambling as a rout to financially success should have a rethink.
Gamble can make them become rich and it can also make them become poorer if they are not lucky. Some gamblers have become rich through gamble but that was luck. Some people things that they can beat the bookies with their own strategy but in the end they lose and become addicted to gamble. I have not win a huge amount of money and but I have seen some gamblers also win huge amount from gamble.but the funny thing is that they are still gambling and they have also lose the money.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Returning back to gambling after quitting on: September 18, 2025, 07:34:44 PM
Most people only say that they have quited gambling momentarily due to heavy loses that they have experienced so out of frustration without meaning what they have said so after a while after they have been able to gain some money, they get back to gambling so the story of your friend may not be different from what am saying. Any gambler who is saying that he is no longer gambler must mean what he say because gambling is one thing that is tempting.
This is just a human nature, we regret our mistakes and stop doing what we once did without being mean to what we say. Stoping gamble is not what a gambler can do with words. The gambler need to be mean to what they say. It is difficult to quit to gamble when you have become addicted to it , that is why a gambler will return to gamble after saying they will no longer gamble again. Somebody that do not stand by their words can not stop gamble, you need to say something and mean it so that you can stop it.

6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: First thing you will do if you win big time in a Casino? on: September 17, 2025, 08:02:28 PM
I just saw this one and I am really amaze on what he did.

A casino guest just won over $1.3 million… and the first thing he did? Call his mom.
At FireKeepers Casino in Michigan, the guest hit the venue’s largest jackpot ever. But instead of celebrating alone, he grabbed his phone and told his mom: “Momma, we are out of the hood. We’re leaving tomorrow.” That emotional call went viral because it wasn’t about luxury, it was about finally giving his family a safer, better life.
Sometimes the biggest wins aren’t about money, they’re about the people you love most.

1.3 MILLION Casino Win
This is a the best thing to do when you win a bet, instead to keep on gambling you just stop and walk away. Use the money to do reasonable things. The lucky winner used his winning money to change his family lives but other greedy gamblers will spend the money on luxury things. The casinos might be wanting the lucky gambler to keep playing but he didn't..
7  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Nigeria government and tax payment. on: September 17, 2025, 04:55:35 PM
Today for Sahara news, Nigeria government don sit down come de talk about Nigerians wey dem de do business ooo, sey any business person sey before you go de operate with bank se you go first de show your tax id.
But my question be what about those petty traders wey spread water proof for ground or those wey even manage to gather small money before dem fit set up small business, dem go pay the tax too?
Make una see this link for details.
https://www.facebook.com/100044145774265/posts/pfbid035gudTqyQnKm8RLAqHVsuiYXnxX1jHBnhwLXgTGrfScXywZRv7JwsNGmwZCSi1M8pl/
This tax of a thing supposed to be for those big business people and other big companies got inside Nigeria. Anything way dey outside big businesses and companies no suppose to dey pay tax. Infact the government forget say them no provide any means of job opportunities for people of Nigeria but them dey request for tax payments. I no really dey sure say nah everybody go reach pay this tax. Anyway I get the details say na from the beginning of next year w go officially start but I'm sure than not everybody in Nigeria will pay the tax.

Another thing we need to check out be say whether if we all pay the tax the government go gree use the money then do better thing to establish our country or them go just dey eat the money, this na waytin we need to checkmate. Government news to show working with the country money say them no go try embezzle am. Them need to use the country money so project and other things way go help the country so that we go dey sure say them no go chop out money when we begin t
he tax payment.
To address these concerns, the government could consider implementing measures such as:
You're right that taxes should ideally be levied on big businesses and companies that have the means to pay.

The government should indeed provide job opportunities or create an environment that fosters employment.

You're skeptical about whether everyone will pay the tax, and that's a valid concern.

It's crucial for the government to use tax revenue wisely and transparently, avoiding embezzlement and ensuring that funds are allocated to projects that benefit the country.

If not that Nigerians are good at what we do, I'm sure that this country would have been worse than what it is right now. What is helping us is that we progress and explore on anything we do on every part of the world we find ourselves and we also adapt to things quickly. If government want people to be paying taxes, they should also provide means of jobs for the graduates. Someone would not go through school and at the end of everything the person will be riding tricycle and be doing town service and at the end the person will still be paying tax to the government, another sad truth will be that the government will not use the money for tax to make the country better.. It is not right to be honest.
8  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria ranks 6th in the Chainalysis 2025 Global Crypto Adoption Index. on: September 17, 2025, 04:43:39 PM
This is a good thing that is happening in our country. With this type of analysis, the government no need to think am two times to openly legalize Bitcoin for Nigeria. If truly say Nigeria na the 6th country to adopt the usage of bitcoin then watin make our government they delay to legalize am? Way be say even other countries way dey more developed pass our Nigeria done adopte am and also dey benefit from m already but Nigerian government dey delay and also dey flag bank accounts way dey deal on crypto transactions. Honestly Nigerians no dey ever carry last gkr things. Come to think of it, if e be say upon say government never legalize Bitcoin for Nigeria and we already dey the 6th position among the countries way dey use Bitcoin, that means it Nigerian government legalize am we fit dey top 3 or 4 sef.

14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling vs doomscrolling on: September 15, 2025, 05:55:26 PM
Neither gambling or doomscrolling is good for long term or has any well being purposes.Gambling deals to financial losses and careless addiction, doomscrolling engages psychological declination. On a health perspective,it's just better you don't engage in either of them, they're both damaging and draining activities.

I will still go for gambling instead of doomscrolling in this regard, because gambling has its benefits of relieving us from stress and getting us entertained, because we are of purpose in choosing to be a gambler and to be playing bets in it, but doomscrolling could be interpreted on many basis after a long time influence on someone, especially when you cant phantom on a single achievement that has come our way as a result of doomscrolling.
Doomscrolling doesn't really mean you are not getting entertained while you are scrolling on the Internet or in social media. Doomscrolling is just like you don't really know why you are scrolling the Internet or social media but you are but at some point you like what you are watching or what you are reading. If incase you are not getting entertained you will eventually stop just the way you gamble and you lose too often you will eventually stop playing. In gamble when you lose there's always a higher chance that you waste your money and your time but doomscrolling only waste your time but your money still remains on your account.

18  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin trading: profit or pressure cooker? on: September 14, 2025, 05:47:15 PM
Many people see Bitcoin as quick money but they is another side to it, the pressure attached every decision or move in the market and your heart begins to beat fast sometimes it goes up and you are happy then it dumps and you begin to panic. Their is profit and their is pressure too. Sometimes I wonder if am the only one feeling this mental stress when trading BTC. How do you guys handle the pressure? Do you guys HODL no matter what happens or you sell quick so as to avoid regret? Because the pressure is real.
I don't really understand this, so you mean trading Bitcoin or you mean investing in Bitcoin?
To make profits you should have a target , either you invest for long term and make good profits or you invest for short term and make little profits or even lose your money out of being panicked. For a newbie to trading just know you will have more losses because the market is fluctuating. Even though you have a good strategy some times you will lose your money. Since you are not comfortable when price fluctuate and Bitcoin dip , don't bother to trade because you will have more pressures.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Must you be noisy about your wins on: September 14, 2025, 05:03:39 PM
That is a lesson that everyone should learn, we should not boast about our success to anyone, although some (a few) will be happy about our success, as a general rule, you attract envy, malicious people, and many, many problems, we must be careful with what we expose publicly on social networks, I know that when you do something important, you want the world to know about it, but if you broadcast it, it has a very high cost!
For instance, those that into crypto trading or crypto investment that have slot of crypto currency. People normally go to them with negative intentions all the time, most times some of them get robbed but for gambling, I have not seen anywhere a successful gambler was robbed because he was lucky from his bets. But such bad thing can happen to anyone because there are people with negative mindsets , they always want what people have but are lazy to work and get there own. Gamblers showing their winning online age creating changes for people with bad intentions to themselves.
