1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Need help with testnet coins on: January 30, 2024, 11:28:01 PM
I'll be direct and ask nicely for some testnet coins to test an end user application. I currently don't have the ability to produce a large amount of my own testnet coins. I know there are faucets but I don't want to feel like I'm abusing their service and I need a large amount but I appreciate every satoshi.

...and please only donate testnet coins that you really never need again and just have lying around! I cannot guarantee that I will be able to return these coins as I may accidentally burn them due to bad scripts.

May I ask if anyone here has ever been able to crack a Wallet.dat? I have read here about an address that had 10,000 BTC where James1971 apparently found the password and is upset about someone who emptied the wallet, if you look at the date it could be true, on the other hand everyone here says that the address or wallet is a fake. I would be interested to know this and also which password it was? Because James said of himself that he is a newbie?

The user James seems to be angry about (@F4LC0N90) is definitely still active and his donate address had several Bitcoins?

As I have mentioned before, I was able to crack a Wallet.dat with a small amount of Bitcoin in it. I got a few Wallet.dat files and also Ethereum legacy .json files and I think mine are 100% valid since I was able to crack one of them and they are linked together since they are from the same source.

But as I have said before, nobody who owns real Bitcoin Wallet.dat files or something similar (.json for early Ethereum legacy wallets, early Dogecoin Wallet.dat files from Dogehouse etc.) or at least believes that these files are real will trade them for possible fake wallet files or sell them for a buck. It would be highly stupid to give these files away, even for 10 or 50k. I am just writing this to logical inform you, nothing more

Has anyone EVER recovered a wallet with BTC funds available in it?

I'd like to think there is a way to do it, but I'm not enough of a hacker nerd to know how to use any hashing programs, and as others have said, no one who thinks they can hack into a wallet would be posting it here for sale.

No, no one has get into wallet and get the funds. Even if you have password that is accepted in the first place, the private keys are not decrypted because the final checksum is invalid with that password.

For over 300 wallets, where about dozen of passwords were known, no one wallet happened to decrypt with known password.

Someone forged these wallets by changing the address and made ckey undecryptable (checksum).
By the way, nobody who owns real wallets, or at least thinks so, will sell or trade the files for a buck to a stranger in the internet. Not even for 10k

I got some valid wallets and I also made it into one. A small sense of achievement even if the amount was not significant high. Got Electrum and Ethereum legacy wallet files
