Why would you "download" or "copy" something that someone wants you to pay to have the rights to do so? boycott more power to you, steal more power to them... you just don't fulfill your contractual obligations... and please don't tell me this movie/song/vg are so great that you can't buy them but have to "steal" them... respect the copyrights of others if you want yours to be respected...

/ this post isn't an endorsement of the mpaa and or dma in any way shape or form...

Because I have an old cassette tape of the music and want it in digital and don't want to bother doing it myself?

Because I have a cd that got scratched?

Because I had it downloaded in stupid Realplayer format and had to go to machines that didn't support that idiotic thing?

Want more?

Oh, wait, you want us to PAY MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE SAME ITEM?

really?
If you buy music (or a movie, book, or a tv show) from iTunes then you can download it an unlimited number of times (or even not download it and only stream it to your device). The same is true for many other cloud/online music sites

Swan

HAHA This is really funny. I doubt that the swan will ever do any real damage to most other creatures though.

I bow down to you sir!

I would personally like to see a special rank for members who have a fixed very high activity level, maybe at 1,000 activity instead of somewhat of a random level starting at 730
6  Other / Meta / Re: Activity problem on: August 17, 2014, 11:49:46 PM
Activity updates every hour. Wait for 30 more minutes.
It can take up to an additional 30 minutes, it doesn't take one hour to update, so it could happen in one minute or 30 minutes depending on when it last updated.

Can't believe people fall for this bullshit.
I don't think as many people will fall for it on here as people are generally a bit more savvy, but I am sure that I lot of the general population will fall for this bs.

~1700 BTC
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to provide Escrow service? on: July 31, 2014, 11:47:18 PM
Yeah i am not planing to start any thing soon. I am trying to sell stuff currently once enough trust is made up and get some respect from community then and only then i will start.

That's a good sentiment right there. I think it's always an awesome thing if new people are interested in how things work in Bitcoin's ecosystem. And if you are a trustworthy person, we had one more good person here in the Bitcoin world to actually do something decent!
To be able to act as escrow you need to really have a lot of trust in this forum. With "normal" trades when the other person sends first only one person will need to trust you. When you are acting as an escrow service, both parties will need to trust you and you have little opportunity to gain their trust.

I have tried a couple of faucets before but the reward was so little that I quit with them.
A better way to earn some more satoshi is to join a signature campaign, like I did  Smiley
The OP is a newbie so he would likely not be able to join most sig campaigns except 777 which pays very little, although more then faucets.

You sure did spend a lot of money on equipment that you do not know how to use even after you have paid for it. This does not sound like a good idea.
12  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Small fee transactions + shops which trust 0 confirmations on: July 31, 2014, 10:47:23 PM
So bitpay doesn't require any confirmations?
AFAIK this can be used for double spending!
Both bitpay and coinbase will only give you a limited amount of time to "send" the BTC (likely to protect against price chances in the price). IIRC the TOS when paying via coinbase is that an item is not considered paid for until the TX is actually confirmed by the network, but the timer on the limit as to how long you have to pay for an item is only for when the TX actually shows up on the network.

Replace lk.org in the url with .lk
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=716639
https://bitcointa.lk/index.php?topic=716639

Edit: Actually not working, it usually works, but looks like it hasn't synced yet, it hasn't been very reliable lately unfortunately, I got a lot of use out of it.
How exactly does this work? Is this an official part of the forum or does someone else run this?
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which major US Cable TV News Channel do you prefer ?? on: July 30, 2014, 03:11:39 AM
All media is use by political propaganda. You must also watch other opposing channel to clarify the truth.
unfortunately this is very true.

The only balanced cable station that reported on politics is cspan.

If your code is sandboxed then it will ultimately be worth less because people will not be able to audit it to make sure it is safe.
