1  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Swiss fiat (CHF, old banknotes 8 series) to EUR/USD or BTC/ETH on: April 14, 2025, 12:37:17 PM
The banknotes are fully valid and there is 0 cost to convert them: https://www.shkb.ch/666-austausch-alter-banknoten

I'm P2P maxi since 2019 but yeah, it's difficult where trust is involved.

As mentioned, I can do full KYC, scan my ID, genitals or whatever. From my side, I'd ask for social proof (needs to be industry insider).

BTW - I'm not doing anything illegal. I do legit work and I can fully dox myself.

Bitcoin is fully P2P and it seemed perfectly logical to ask here. If I'd have family or friends in Switzerland, I'd just ask them but I don't have.

If somebody has, please let me know and I'm inviting you for lunch.

No need to complicate further.

Do you work with CHF (8th series banknotes, cash)? What's the process? Thanks

Hi, thanks for this.

From my side, full doxxing is possible, as well as KYC or any other social proof needed. I work in this industry for 5+ years so no issues there but I do not have a reliable person to do the CHF to EUR/BTC/ETH exchange with.

I believe the best would be to take the trip to Switzerland and get "new CHF" banknotes. With that, I do not need to "justify" and make the counterparty "scared" that it's not real money or something like that.

Those CHF are a gift, and all written guarantees can be made from my side.

Hi, I have a strange an unprecedented issue and a question here...  Huh

I have "old" Swiss banknotes, the 8th series (rebranded after 2021 to 9th series).  Huh

They are fully valid - but only after changing them in the Swiss National Bank (SNB) or one of their partner agencies (~10 places in Switzerland). The issue is that it's possible ONLY in Switzerland, and not in a Swiss embassy or any other palce outside of Switzerland.hah.  Huh

Meaning I'd need to book a flight, go to the SNB during working hours (Mo-Fri) and exchange them to the 9th series CHF.. And then I have cash which I don't know how and where to spend anyway.. and I'd rather not use a currency exchange which will charge insane fees for the conversion to EUR.

The size is 4 figures.

Does anybody have an idea or a solution for this weird issue? Should I just go there and exchange it and wire a SEPA transfer to my preferred on ramper (without having a bank account there)?

(PS. no need for scammers to join here, you're dealing with an industry insider, you're probably losing your time if you're trying to scam me).
