Token vs. Coin: You're correct in noting that BitKOIN is technically a token since it operates on the Koinos blockchain's infrastructure, which is a common trait of tokens.
They utilize the existing blockchain's technology and framework, which in our case is the innovative Koinos blockchain, renowned for its upgradeability, modularity, and most importantly, its gas-free transaction model.
Overall, BTK is deployed in a similar manner via a smart contract, just as an ERC-20 token can be created on Ethereum.
Mining and "Fuel" Source: Unlike traditional cryptocurrencies that require mining to create new coins and secure the network, BitKOIN's model is different.
The Koinos blockchain doesn't rely on conventional mining; instead, it uses a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism which is less energy-intensive and more environmentally friendly.
As for the "fuel," Koinos employs a unique system called 'mana' – a resource that regenerates over time for token holders, enabling them to transact without the typical gas fees.
This mana system represents the “fuel” but without the associated costs, making transactions effectively gas-free.

This is exactly why our project was built on the Koinos, the first Free-to-use blockchain with all features in Production (no bla-bla roadmap).
The only way we can drive mass-adoption is only if we fully remove the gas fees...
Because imagine how crazy would it be to pay let's say 1$ every time you visit a website?
This is why Ethereum will never be the leading blockchain going forward toward mass adoption, and same applies to the other blockchains that are low-gas-fees (Eg. Solana, Cardano, etc.), but have the scalability problem, because these low-gas-fees are increasing with the price of their native cryptocurrency and they are not so low anymore if you convert to $.
