1  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Inflation and Deflation the Worst Economic Threats? on: June 17, 2024, 06:59:43 PM

With inflation, they can just adopt other currencies and go on with their lives despite the rising prices of products. Unemployment also since companies will shut down.

Either of those things will make a country weak. If there is no military power right between the neighboring countries while the other is weak, it's the border issues that arise. One country will take advantage of the turmoil. The war with a neighbor is likely the worst that can happen.

As much as inflation and deflation are major factors in the economic threat, political instability is the worst.

Uncertainty in government policies, changes in leadership, or conflict can create the worst in the economy.

One of the major reasons for the hardship in our country, Nigeria, is bad government, if you may ask me.

The leadership method is so uncertain, and it's had a lot of bad effects on the citizens, which has contributed to making the youth and even other men go into things they vow never to do.

I believe inflation and deflation can be managed compared to an uncertain government where no one is ready to learn or listen to others.

Only the uncertainty government can cause debt, which is another factor, conflict, and also unemployment, which is the major reason I believe the uncertainty government is the worst factor.
2  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: crypto vs content creation, which is more profitable? on: June 17, 2024, 06:31:20 PM
To invest/buy bitcoin, you need to have money; some people dey lucky to dey work for crypto projects or promote/advertise them, for example, through signature campaigns, but if you no dey into that, you have to buy bitcoin with your money, and you need to be working or earning money in real life to be able to channel the funds into buying bitcoin.

Crypto no be job, even if you wanna engage in crypto trading, you still need money to be able to buy the coins, crypto usually dey profitable for people wey get the money to buy a lot of it or people wey be early investors. So if content creating makes sense and you believe say e fit give you money, then do it, you go fit use the money buy bitcoins and still look for crypto jobs to do online.
As much as content creators generate money from their content, there are lots of them that are into crypto currency exchange, but they are actually silent about it do to the society we live in.

Most of these content creators have a lot of investment, but usually the content covers it up.

There's something I noticed about investors, or maybe Bitcoin investors. Bitcoin investors are always not showing off where they get their money randomly. Render, make it low-key, and invest in it.

If you watch the content of Egugun of Lagos, you will realize that the majority of the big boys are into one or two trading markets but disguard themselves. They are always low-key and not social media people unless they are interviewed.
Most of these people have more money than the content creators, but because they're not celebrities and their net worth is not on the internet, we always accept what we see, which is the content creators.

It takes a long while before a content creators can get much money and fame. And some times money is also involved in getting this fame.
They don't just make it big over night, that's one thing we should know.
3  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can Bitcoin help to reduce crime? on: June 17, 2024, 05:58:06 PM
I think if there is adequate sentization of Bitcoin in our society it will help in the reduction of crime because many people that are involve in some fraudulent activities today would venture into Bitcoin and be making a reasoning resource from Bitcoin if really inconcated with the actually knowledge and information to be successful in the system.

It's unfortunate to say that the probabilities of Investors or traders earning in bitcoin doesn't instigate crime limitations on the individuals because bitcoin doesn't have probational features rather, bitcoin blockchain is is on the formations that fraudsters operating under the system can be tracked.
Unlike most persons may think that since bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, there'd be no way and no one would be responsible to have criminal activities on track on the digital currency.

Bitcoin is like a double-edged sword.

On the one hand, Bitcoin blockchain technology can make transactions more traceable, which could in one way reduce fraud as it's transparent compared to some other transmissions that no one can know.

Another is the rate of unemployment, and your mopping around for money is also ready with the help of crypto currency, which, with a mix of 5 youth, 2 or 3, is doing well in a legit way. Which also helps reduce financial crimes.
But on the other side, which is anonymity, there can be unserious or illegal activities that, before you might realize it, it's gone.

It has also given some youth a more advanced way to commit fraud, giving them a better idea of how to use it, mainly for those who aren't patient enough but want quick money.
But Bitcoin alone can't reduce crime in an environment because it's not a job unless you are doing other things in it.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Bitcoin, and HODL! on: June 11, 2024, 09:03:32 AM
Personally, I feel Bitcoin is like planting a tree and watching it grow.
That's how patient one needs to be.

Buying a bitcoin and holding it can be a solid investment strategy.
The Bitcoin market can be very tricky sometimes, but it's best to buy it when you can afford it and hold it for a long-term perspective.
Another strategy is that instead of buying your bitcoin at once, you can buy it bit by bit at different times.

This can help you not buy all your coins at a high price. It's playing safe, not putting all your eggs in one basket. Avoid the FOMO and not do enough research.
Being cautious and not investing more than you can afford.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between gamblers and real Bitcoin investors? on: June 07, 2024, 10:47:01 PM
~
Investors make decisions based on analysis, not on luck.
~

Although luck is also involved big time in the activities of Bitcoin investors, still analysis makes sense there. While applying analysis to purely luck-based games is insanity, and it may lead to huge losses. I really admire Bitcoin investors who can invest in the right time and get good profits, but I myself is not one of them. To me, investing in Bitcoin is almost like gambling. I never know when the right time is.
Personally, I feel you are absolutely wrong. If you're referring to Altcoins you can say it has to do with luck because one is wagering from one coin to another hoping it will be successful or will yield profit but in Bitcoin you cannot say it is luck, I can give you reasons why you shouldn't put and/or classify Bitcoin investment as luck;

1. Bitcoin has performed for over 15 years plus and it has not failed or dropped upto 98% unlike the shitcoins you know.

2. Bitcoin is not a pump and dump scheme as you may think if it!

3. In Bitcoin you invest with awareness that even if Bitcoin drops it will still perform well in the future.

4. In Bitcoin you take calculated risk, long term investment is the goal not short term.

So basically you can see that Bitcoin is not a lucky game. You can also give me reason why you think it's about luck.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Religious leader barred from casinos because of big wins. on: June 07, 2024, 09:48:51 PM
As a leader, you are expected to lead by example.

It's prohibited in most regions because of the consequences that come with gambling.
When they talk about addiction, it's something one might not even know he or she is getting addicted to until they're already into it.

Some people do not even believe they're addicted to it, even when others tell them, so this is what an apostle of God shouldn't do because it ruins life's.

He might be able to control his gambling life, but what happens to that soul who is looking up to him and learning from him? They might not do the same and could destroy his own life. This is what makes it really bad for a leader to be involved.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of this Scam! on: June 07, 2024, 09:12:54 PM
I just noticed that scammers aren't just on Facebook or social media marketing.
It's in most of the important forms you think are legit online.

Just last month, my in-law got scammed out of his salary, like this person couldn't access it until the salary got in and everything was wiped up.

I usually do not accept strange friend requests because of the heavy scams on Facebook.

And I was also just telling my friend today about someone I know who also posts an account of hers that's always been hacked by someone or someone using her photos to create an account. But there's something so strange about all her posts because, in a very short period of time, she will create another account, asking people to start following the new one, and within some months the account will be gone.

My question is, is it possible for her account to be hacked all the time? Because one needs some requirements to hack an account, how is it possible that your account is always hacked? Because I actually feel she knows about it and just misleads others who are her Facebook friends.

There's no easy way to get money; we all should always ignore it because it's too fast and easy. Or ask questions.

There is this pride that comes, when you are able to explain a certain aspect of Bitcoin even when others are getting it wrong, all because of the difference in the amount of information been gathered over time.

9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you feel when you earn merits in your post or replies. on: June 01, 2024, 02:12:58 AM
This post really made me smile.

And reading some comments, I realized some people started very curious about merit, while I was just shocked at my first.

The very first merit was a very shock to me because I was in my very few weeks of joining the forum.

While being cautious with what to post because I was still going through Learnmeabitcoin, not to make a mistake that would bring my account banned, I came across the topic.

I sincerely wrote what I could have just advice someone physical if the topic was brought to me.

And I got merited; I was like, What did I even write? Is it not just advice? Someone merited me for this? Wow, it was such a shock to me.

I had a mixed-up feeling, which I can't really explain because I wasn't curious about merit; I was just learning and being careful.

I was really grateful, but I never knew how to appreciate the one who merited me too.

And each time I come online, seeing my 1 merit I feel excited and encouraged to do more.

11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People keep asking me to borrow money, some of them for betting on: June 01, 2024, 12:24:53 AM
Except from borrowing someone or a friend money for gambling, it's not advisable to lend out what you can't let go in this society where almost everybody is giving this I don't care behavior.
I always tell my friends that I can't give you what I feel I can't let you have forever, even when it comes to clothes.
Talk more about borrowing money to gamble where there's no guarantee of winning. The trauma that comes with losing what isn't yours can make one think negatively. Imagine encouraging them to gamble more because you feel like you are a good friend. It's important you decline in a nicer way than giving what might end your friendship in the future.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it? on: June 01, 2024, 12:04:23 AM
Hi everyone,

Gambling has become very popular in the world , especially after the changes that have occurred over the years with modern technology and the abundance of games, we can now gamble with one push    anywhere and anytime . More money is flowing to sites and casinos in huge quantities, and everyone’s goal is to win more ,As is always known, if there is a loser, there is a winner, and I don't think that the percentage of losers is greater than the winners .

Is this true gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it?
Gambling is whatever you choose to call it. Because obviously it's not just a place of loss or a place of win; it's both, and it all depends on how you predict yours; that's where you can judge it. Some people can predict and get a nice one, and luckily it's a win for them, but there's no guarantee that it's winning because even great gamblers lose sometimes.

If one gambles to get rich, it's obviously the wrong perspective because your odds will basically be bigger and higher, which might give you a loss.

Sometimes when I hear news of a big win, I discover lots of gamblers gamble with a very big amount with a smaller prediction, which gives them a big odd, and when they win, it's a big win; hence, some people gamble with just a small amount with big odds, expecting magic from me. Some can win their first game, while others can never make a celebration of winning despite being into it for a longer time. So it's obviously a game of strategy accompanied by luck.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greediness or Addiction -which one is more disastrous? on: May 31, 2024, 12:15:49 AM
They are similar because greediness can actually lead to addiction, and addiction, on the other hand, can also lead to greediness.
Addiction and greediness are both characteristics of an intense desire for something.
Addiction is when one is dependent on something despite the negativity of it, while greediness is an excessive desire for material things, often at the expense of others. For example, when a gambler is winning a game, instead of making use of it, he goes harder, not because he is just addicted to it but because, at this point, it's out of greed to make more.
If one is not greedy, I believe he or she can't be addicted to gambling. You can see a gambler trying so hard to use some amount of money to make millions of dollars, and that's greed. Therefore, they are both dangerous and disastrous.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does addicted gamblers only lose money all the time on: May 27, 2024, 09:48:12 AM
One thing you should know about gambling addiction is that people aren't satisfied with their wins.

l have come across some gamblers who win a very huge amount of money. Instead of going home to enjoy their win, they randomly stay back, play more games, and perhaps they lose all they have.
Addiction is wanting more, trying to multiply, and this is one thing that makes their wins never count more because they are often found broke.

This is the habit of a gambler's addiction. But one who only gambles to win some money will pick that win and run out of that place.

16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 23, 2024, 08:54:00 PM
Gambling is a game of choice, and we all have the right to stop or continue it.

We are actually judging it based on how it's been done in our society, but I still believe there are people who gamble and gamble well.

The story of how it destroys people's lives is very high compared to the positive one.

Addiction is one of the things that makes it really bad. If every gambler is about to manage their gambling habit and set a target for each day and never exceed it, then the negativity won't be so much.

As much as there are losses, there are also wins, which are less than the losses.

Study your ground and gamble within your limit, not how others are going harder on it.

17  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying Vs Renting a Home- Which is the right move? on: May 23, 2024, 07:55:14 PM
It all depends on your location and how long you plan to stay there.

You can't travel for school and buy a house; it's always necessary to rent because you have just a period of time to stay there.

But in the case of planning to set a standard and starting a family, if you have the money, I believe you should buy a house already. Relax with your family and keep going.

This really reminds me of one of my bosses; this woman was living in a good house but not in a in a luxury apartment. But when she got a very big contract, she rented a house worth millions of naira in the same town where she has been living. To be honest, I find this not reasonable because why rent such a house when you can actually buy your own house and leave without thinking of rent?

It's better to buy in such a situation than to rent.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: How to improve your condition? on: May 23, 2024, 07:40:13 PM
Firstly, if there's no networking site working in your place, you wouldn't be in this forum.
It's the way network life works in our society that makes every networker look like a scammer.

Hence, you can still achieve what you want if you work hard and are patient. I believe if you can improve your situation, it's essential to take small steps towards positive changes.
Like setting specific goals, seeking support from friends or professionals,
Set a goal, be a jack of all trades like double tax yourself, don't get too luxury like others because you never can tell how they make their money.
Read often, not just books, but positive and productive ones.
Most of us like putting our hands where we aren't, but we still manage that small public transport while chasing the big bag.
Not everyone will be very rich but learn to be contented.

Been able to provide your basic needs should be a good one while going for a greater one.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between gamblers and real Bitcoin investors? on: May 23, 2024, 01:54:34 PM
There's a big difference between a gambler and a Bitcoin investor; in gambling, there's so much risk involved.

Gamblers rely on luck and chance, and their approach and mindset are different from those of a Bitcoin investor.
When playing bets, they go for short-term gain but very high risk, while Bitcoin investors engage in
cryptocurrency with a long-term perspective and exercise much patience.

Bitcoin investors analyze trends, the potential growth of Bitcoin, and technology.

Investors make decisions based on analysis, not on luck.
Also, there are more risk factors or disadvantages to gambling, such as gambling addiction, debt, and losing money frequently due to the unpredictable nature of gambling and its effects on mental health, relationships, and overall well-being.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do your parents invest in bitcoin ? on: May 22, 2024, 06:03:55 PM
No, my parents do not invest in Bitcoin because they don't even have a clue how it works, and I'm pretty sure no day will come when my mom thinks of something like that.

Just my younger brother, who is more enlightened on it, does. But I believe that with time, my elder brothers will invest.

All they need is to be enlightened on how it works.
As for me, I'm investing sooner.
