1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sold all my shib for litecoin on: April 01, 2024, 05:14:07 PM
Recently I bought around 1000 dollars of litecoin (I sold 1000 dollars of my bitcoin for it) and I've already made a 20% gain. I decided to buy more LTC by selling the 690 dollars of shib bringing the grand total of my litecoin to 2000 dollars USD. Is this bad or does LTC have a future? I've seen a lot about how LTC has a possible ETF in the far future. I am a long holder (5 years at least) btw.

Any decision that involves selling shit meme coin to a project with real utility in crypto space is good. Litecoin is one of the OG blockchain in crypto that is hard fork on Bitcoin. Converting your asset from Shib which pump a lot already to Litecoin is a good move since  LTC still has a lot of potential to pump more in the future because this project is for long term unlike meme coin that doesn’t have an end goal.

Maybe focus on Ethereum if you are looking for forward for an ETF approval since it’s the closest project to receive an ETF. The rest will just follow when Eth ETF approved.

For sure ETH has an ETF on the way but ETH doesn't have much room to grow in my opinion. Litecoin has a much lower market cap than ETH. It's risky but I can't go on with my life without taking risks. FOMO...

The first thing to point out to you right away is that, you have made a few wrong decisions along the line, this is because you sold your bitcoin 100% just to put the money into memecoins and looking for long terms possible potential as far as 5 year time frame, I think that may result into some bad outcome because memecoins doesn't have anything that will propel it long term viability.

But above that all we need to take more closer look at the risk of none diversification to and again mono investment, what are their risks and advantages.

Litcoin is not a memecoin haha, also shib is definitely a memecoin but I didn't sell my btc for shib. I used $250 of my own money to buy it and it went to around 680.

I haven't heard where stockpile is originated from. But one is to do a P2P transaction, the actual and not with the exchanges.
Because most of the exchange nowadays will ask you for a kyc and even non-kyc exchanges might soon turn into one, you'll never know.
So, find a local crypto community wherever you are right now and that might help you purchase it but do the deal in personal located in a safe place.

I just found something about that, there is a crypto meetup group in my town that has a lot of members. I'll try to get someone to sell some litecoin/bitcoin in person at a public place (Like a restaurant or something)

I'm 17 and I am not of age yet to buy Litecoin legitimately and put it inside an actual physical wallet. Instead, I buy it from "Stockpile". Currently, I have around 1200 dollars worth of litecoin (bought 1000 when it was 87 dollars) and around 650 dollars of shibu inu which I bought for 250. I wanted to use my parent's Coinbase account but they are restricting me from buying/selling on the Coinbase account anymore because they are worried about taxes since everything they buy is in their name (I already have around 1400 dollars in that coinbase account). The only assets that I personally have access to are the litecoin in my stockpile account, stockpile doesn't allow me to withdraw the actual Litecoin, they only let me withdraw it for USD. Is there a non-KYC way of buying litecoin or a way to buy litecoin underage and put it inside a physical wallet without getting F'd by taxes/fees? I looked into some BTC/LTC ATMs but they have stupid fees of over 15% or around there.
