The gambling industry only thrives because there are lots of people that gamble irresponsibly and lots of gamblers that are addicted to Gambling. If everyone could gamble responsibly they wouldn't be making such amount of money that they get on a daily basis from gamblers. This is why more casinos keep on coming up everyday, it's a business that profits of people's weaknesses and poor decision making
Only thrives because of irresponsible gamblers? Maybe you are right. The gambling industry may not collapse, but people will still patronize it just for fun. People go to amusement parks to play virtual games; they pay for this and go home happy. The same will apply to gambling as well. The only concern is that gambling might experience a little decline since a good percentage of gamblers are only in it for the money.

I was having a conversation about gambling with two young men and one of them said gambling is not for the poor people, that it has the proclivity to favour rich people much than with the poor, and the examples he gave made me to come close to endorsing his interpretation.
His argument is that the rich people gambling do not have to pack a lot of odds as in parlay bet to accumulate a high odd size that will give a satisfying potential win. The rich has the money to risk huge amount to a single game for instance 2 odds staked with $1 million to win $2 millions, but the poor staking with $100 to win $2 million has to pick multiple legs to accumulate odds to get such potential win. It hence decreases the gambling winning chance whilst the rich gambler chance remains increased.
I understand your point clearly. However, one thing we must understand is that gambling odds do not change because of the amount involved. A 3.0 odd remains 3.0 odd irrespective of how much is at stake. What I see here is that, the poor are mostly moved by greed and emotions which pushes them to make too numerous and wrong selections. That is why sometimes it seems like the poor do better. Well, both are risking according to their own financial capability. So if you ask me, they are both at risk and anyone can be favoured. Instead of looking out for who gambling favours the most, we should be concerned about gambling discipline because in my own opinion, disciplined gamblers are the most favoured. They have deviced means to minimise losses and maximise profits as well.

Those who acquired bitcoin in early days got larger share in less price. Later when there are very less bitcoins left to be mined and prices are astronomically high, it will be hard to acquire even fractions of bitcoins. Where is equality concept associated with bitcoin then ?
Equality between who? The rich and the poor, or just everyone in general? It is impossible for everyone to have the same amount of bitcoin. If it happens that way, bitcoin will lose its value. Bitcoin still has value because of scarcity, and it is good we let it be this way. We shouldn't be talking about equality right now; Satoshi never promised us equality. What we should be grateful for is the fact that everyone, irrespective of financial status, can actually buy bitcoins with ease whether at a higher price or not. That's freedom. Have you asked yourself: are all those who bought bitcoins during the early days still holding their bitcoins to date? Those bitcoins have probably changed hands countless times. Be grateful you can still get some bitcoins right now if you want to. In some ways the launch and adoption of Bitcoin was originally intended to solve the problems of financial risks like inflation. Still some argues that Bitcoins fixed supply and expected rate of adoption only replaces one form of centralization or monetary control with another form of inequality of which is wealth concentration or redistribution among early adopters and large pocket or large institutional holders. The problem is that everyone seems to have their individual expectation of bitcoin while ignoring the main problem bitcoin came to solve. The concentration of wealth in few individuals is something that is bound to happen, that's the advantage those who took advantage of bitcoin early will get. Honestly, I feel that the equality of bitcoin lies in the fact that everyone has right to invest in it at every given point without any central authority dictating to them what to and what not to do.No one is going to restrict you from investing because you are investing late or because you do not have enough resource to do so.

As it should be, casinos are expected to operate from a place of transparency and not fraud. If players suspect that the games are been rigged beyond the required odds then there's a problem. Its an ethical responsibility for the casino to offer games that are fair because it represents the games under their brand.
Every gambler should have the right to sue any casino that cheats, but this will depend on if the gambling laws of that particular region is working, and if the government care about the welfare of gamblers. Most times, casinos get away with some of the errors they commit because the welfare of gamblers are not well protected. If the casino proves not to be transparent, they should be held responsible.

Everyone's funny experiences from gambling is just cracking me up,this shows that gambling itself is a real life entertainment. In one way or the other we've created memories, we've learnt lessons and evolved but everything's still centered around Gambling. Many funny gambling stories ended with lessons, gambling teaches that self-control,contentment,and wisdom are more rewarding than chasing luck.
Right. If only people didn't put in so much money that caused them pain instead of satisfaction and fun, everyone would think about these stories and just smile. Back then in the university, I had friends who would always place bets before the matches started. Somehow, they were never lucky, but they kept using their feeding money to bet. Today we talk about those school experiences and just laugh at how hopeful betting made them feel, even when they were never lucky. I would agree that gambling is originally for fun before anything else.

To be clear, I'm not asking for help or a solution. It's just a discussion.
Everyone here is just wasting his/her time trying to figure out a solution to a problem that doesn't exist in the first place. Op only fabricated this story to bring about discussions and increase his post count. I suspected already from the beginning, why would someone who needs help recovering an old wallet be interested in the amount of bitcoins others had in their wallet which they recovered? Lock this thread to avoid further spamming.

Could you see a scenario where Bitcoin can be taxed as an asset?
On a normal expectation with the use of bitcoin, it should not be task, because this is a decentralized digital currency and also uses a p2p service whereby all what could have led to being task has been dealt away with before now, that is why if you're into bitcoin and still remained under a centralized institution, you cant go further or move forward, because things are not the same way as we expect with third party institutions for holding our asset for us, this is also why we encourage more for a decentralized network in using bitcoin. I believe you want to write taxed instead of task. I don't know but is it right that countries that hasn't fully accepted Bitcoin start to tax Bitcoin holders? And also can government become friendly with Bitcoin because of the tax gains they can get from Bitcoin holders? Obviously many government around the world are very interested in the tax revenue and they are obviously seeing Bitcoin as an investment plans for their citizens so I believe they will do almost anything to get it taxed. Honestly, I feel it is unfair for governments who are yet to fully accept bitcoin to charge tax on bitcoins holdings. If they do not want to have any affiliation with bitcoin, they should not find the revenue accruing from bitcoin attractive. It screams double standards if the government is going to put in restrictions, threaten bans and make no clear regulations to support and protect bitcoin investors, yet want to share in the profits. I am aware that the government is already charging tax on bitcoin holdings, including VAT. With this, they should all come out openly and take responsibility; protect the people whom they are collecting from.

What do you guys think?
If you want to avoid cashing out prematurely, do not follow up the game. The more you follow it up, the more your emotions begins to trick you and you will become tempted to cashout. There is no other magic to achieve this, except your self control ability is unmatched. With all the anxiety and tension buildup while watching the match, I wonder how it will be possible for one to remain composed till the end. Only few persons can do this. Some times following up the live game can be a disaster for someone who dont have strong greed control, this is because alot of times we have seen where a gambler who is following up with the match live failed to cashout even when he was already above 70% winning, so it all depends on how someone manages themselves around cases like this one. It is not always about greed. Here there is already suspense in the air, there is tension too. Some may become uneasy and begin to react either aggressively or joyfully to every actions of the players. I have also seen a case in my country where someone slumped and died instantly while watching a match due to hypertension. We couldn't tell if he placed bet on It or not, but the fact remains that he couldn't handle the tension from the game. Betting on a match brings about expectations, unlike those who are just watching for fun. Gamblers know themselves better; if they know they cannot deal with anxiety, sitting there watching the match go on is something they shouldn't do. Like I said earlier, only few professional gamblers can stick to their plan, not some amateur like me.

- First of all you need to set a budget, that you will use only for gambling you can store it however you like, and it is not necessary to send it all at once to the casino deposit you can do it in parts. The most important thing is that you know exactly how much money you have for gambling, and never exceed this amount.
- Determine your bet size and limits. I mean a limit you can't exceed for a certain period (day, week) and also time limits, that you will not exceed this, will help you avoid emotional strain, and excessive expenses.
These are the most valuable rules in my opinion. Controlling your budget and the time you spend gambling is crucial, especially when you have a job, a family, and children. By being prudent, you won't compromise your income or your relationships; having control makes you less susceptible to addiction. I'd like to add a suggestion: Don't make gambling a source of income. Bet for fun. If you win, great. If you lose, move on with your life. My top rule for every person who calls himself a gambler is for them to have a job. A job, a business or any other thing that guarantees a stable income is what can distract a gambler from gambling everyday and putting in so much energy and emotions into gambling. With all that gambling promises a gambler, it will be very difficult for a poor and idle gambler to gamble responsibly without trying to act greedy. What do you mean by all the promises of gambling to a gambler? Do bookies or hosts promise anything to each gambler? In this case we should not blame anyone, blame yourself, why play beyond what you can lose. I think this is not just poor people, this applies to everyone who likes to gamble. It is true that the rules in gambling activities require money, which can be a single factor, but in my opinion the main factor in this case is our own self-control in managing everything, both the game and managing your bankroll. People gamble because they have been told or have seen that if they win, they will get rich and probably get a better life for themselves. Now, that's what gambling promises them "more money only if they are lucky to win". By promise I do not mean "assurance", no one is giving anyone that assurance of winning by all means. All the gamblers have is just hope of winning, it is now their duty to put themselves under control so while chasing that win, they do not lose more than they bargained for.

I don't believe that these exchanges will spoil their reputation by advertising fake competitions just to gather attention, then deceive the participants who show interest without selecting any of them or declaring winners after the whole competition is over.
Trading competitions are real, but they are really tough. If you are looking for an alternative to trading, this is not the best you can go for

The problem with many is that they don't wait to learn from cryptocurrency before doing anything, because what we don't know will always have an edge over us, while ignorance is never an excuse, we need to understand why we should always play safe and be able to understand the normal procedures before taking steps in cryptocurrency, if we can invest with our money on what we lack more information about shows we intentionally waste our fund, because mistakes becomes inevitable by us to do.
Knowledge is indeed power. When you have the right knowledge, you are as well equipped for your investment journey and can be able to handle everything that has to do with your investment in bitcoin, including scammers. Just last week, I received an unsolicited message from a scammer on Facebook messenger. He claimed he wanted to introduce me to an investment called bitcoin. According to him, bitcoin is any investment that multiplies every minute. I can invest and get double of my capital in few minutes. It sounded so good to be true. I knew it was a scam, but what about newbies who are looking for where to get quick money without proper research? They will fall easily to that cheap scam. No newbie should make himself a victim, learn alot about bitcoin before releasing money to invest. That's the approach I used before investing.

I don't gamble with friends, not because I don't love to, but because I am not regular with this whole gambling thing. If I must try to, I love gambling games where we gamble competitively among ourselves, the end goal should not be inorder to share in the profits, but just to have fun and feel entertained. Already, we play games together and I think trying out group gambling where we gamble with only one goal in mind will not be a bad idea to try out.

If you tell truth about how dad spends money, wont conscience later ruin you, if after your actions family will start falling apart or father will lose connection with daughter. Because you will be the person who has started family to broke up. There is a very thin line between telling or not telling truth about father. Better ask yourself if you are ready to be responsible for everything that will happen after truth is revealed.
Gambling addiction is a bad thing that can ruin any relation or family especially when it happens to the man who is supposed to be the role model of the family. As much as possible, we should try never to be addicted to gambling and to do this, we should avoid being desperate to win and we should never treat gambling as a source of income because that will give birth to so many actions that will lead to addiction. @bakasabo thinks telling the daughter that her father is a gambling addict will ruin the relationship between the Father and daughter, but now I ask, isn't the addiction causing much ruins already? Should it be until the daughter breaks down before everyone will realise that she is going through alot from unknowingly funding a gambling addict. Tell her anyways, she'll definitely get disappointed in her father but their relationship will be fixed in no distant time and the man will get the help he deserves. It is a win win situation here. You can hide your identity while doing so.
