Discussion points: Technology: What role would technology play in a perfect world? Is it to promote human progress or to help us live a better life?
Hopefully in the near future, technology or AI, to be specific, will actually help us do chores or the more mundane things in life so we will get to do the things we are passionate about like being creative. Rather than AI doing things that are creative, like what is happening right now.

I hate being alone. When I'm alone, it forces me to face myself and think about what I've done. So when I'm by myself, I constantly scroll through my phone or aimlessly watch TV shows
I do think being alone is a great way to relax and reset. When you only have to worry about no one but yourself, that's a great way to unwind. But too much alone time can lead to loneliness as I do think we are built to socialize and have human interaction. Finding that balance is up to you, however.

Most of the people in our society are always depressed about something, in this case what kind of activities do you do when you are depressed??
Mental health is a sensitive topic but I do think it should be talked about and addressed. For me, things that have helped deal with depression are travelling and enjoying nature. Maybe going to beaches and feeling the sand in between my toes. One of the more practical solutions are resetting and meditation. Making sure I am staying in reality and not being swallowed by my thoughts.

With technology allowing us to work from the comfort of our homes and being productive, hitting our quotas, and helping the company grow, I do not see why wouldn't the companies allow this setup. It is very helpful to the employees who do not need to commute and be stuck in traffic, which they can instead use to bond with their own families or use this saved time anywhere they want to. Work from home setup, in my book, is just a net positive for all.

This is a true story: after learning about the forum, I went to see a friend for assistance. He helped me set up an account and then, when I tried to ask him for help posting, he refused and told me that since we are not close, I would have to learn how to post on the forum on my own. I found it difficult to ask him questions about how the forum operated, and after several months, his number was unreachable. Finally, one Sunday after church, we got together, and I took it upon myself to ask him for advice on the platform, all he could say was to post on the beginners' forum if you needed any help. Since then, I have been posting, watching, and learning from the community, but I still want to say that even though I'm learning the hard way, it has given me a lot more confidence that I can succeed on my own with perseverance and hard work.
In being in the empathetic side, it would be nice if your friend would have just shown you the ropes on how the forum works but I still think it would have been better this way, when you are learning on your own rather than being spoon-fed all the information.

I can't tell if this post is real, a bait, or trolling. If OP hates Christians (and yet he quotes scriptures) then what is your faith/religion?

I am also starting to notice a trend in rich and successful people who are hiding their wealth. Stealth wealth, if you will. Some successful people I talked to don't show off their wealth with fancy clothes and slick cars. They prefer to stay low and do their thing without the public eye. I think this is a cool way to do life if you are rich.

Can we assume that there will be a zero interest rate policy again in the future? I am 19 years old, am doing my IT training and would like to invest in real estate afterwards, but the costs would otherwise be too high.
buy yourself a nice house in a 3rd world country(i.e. indonesia or more precisely bali during covid) that's developing or one that's in crisis today (argentina?). not an easy thing to do because not all countries allow foreigners to buy, and if they do they have special rules (thailand, indonesia) or taxing. time for you to do some research... and maybe travel a bit? In the Philippines, as far as I heard, they allow foreigners to buy condos. Not bad if you're looking to invest only and not a place where you'll stay at.

My opinion about money is that you do need it in this world to survive or to have money to have a comfortable and decent life for you and your loved ones. But I think chasing happiness with money is where we can draw the line because I don't think they are connected. You can be happy and content without hoarding too much money.

Hopefully I don't share my conservative views too much about life, but with an education you are pursuing, it is probably best to start with a job and working your way up. On the other hand, it's probably hard to do your own business once you get a job. Such is life. At the end of the day, it all starts with the choice you decide to do.

I am a newcomer in this forum and I appreciate the very informative replies on this thread. I think it's best not to step on anyone's toes especially in an established forum like this one. Thank you for the tricks and tips to anyone who replies/replied on this thread!

Pink Floyd is up there for me definitely. But Toto's I'll Be Over You has been stuck to my head lately and have been playing it on loop. Not an all time favorite band, but just been listening to it.

Interesting thread. Is there any chance that the craters of the moon were damage done to it over the years of its existence?
