1  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Going in hard for mining! Mining Blog![UPPDATE] on: September 15, 2014, 07:31:07 PM
I think this guy is full of shit.  He talks constantly about his free power but never says what it is.  Solar farm and windmills?  Take photos and post them for us, OP.

This guy is going to be the next jrose120 from Pompano Beach, Florida.  For those of you who don't know, Jrose120 was over at the litecoin forums all last winter.  He was a guy with good computer knowledge who got all caught up in buying GPUs during the time of their huge price surge.  He even borrowed $50,000 from his cousin to buy more.

Then he put everything on a crapcoin called Solarcoin, and basically lost his ass.  He stopped posting at the litecoin forums when he got poop on his face from his poorly timed investment.

I still laugh at him whan I think about it.  If he had stayed mining he could've pulled a profit out if it, but he was a quitter.
I don't think that it's him but it would be nice to see that photo, we already see that he has miners so it isn't purely his imagination and i personaly trust him.

Remember folks, free electricity doesn't have to be solar, wind, etc. It can also mean things like: "dorm room mining farm", "miner under my office desk at work", "my landlord doesn't separate my electricity bill from his in my efficiency", "the electric company doesn't realize my meter is broken".
2  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Right Price for Antminers on: September 15, 2014, 02:16:39 PM
No brainer...buy, mine for a bit then resell.  your mined btc + resale value should = more than your investment.

No, it should be, buy, put the antminer up for sale while using it to mine..

I like that idea! Picked them both up! Thanks guys!  Cheesy
3  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Right Price for Antminers on: September 12, 2014, 07:36:06 PM
Hey guys, how would you feel about getting two Antminers S3's for $200 each today? Electricity is about $0.08 per kwh, PSU, cables, etc. already in-hand.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GRIDSEED G-BLADE Overclocking 7Mh/s on: August 07, 2014, 05:38:13 AM
Replaced the 33k resistor with a 39k and the miner is holding steady at 6Mh/s! Decided to go for a moderate overclock to keep power costs down and reliability up!

An old heatsink I found inside a plasma TV. I also replaced the fan to keep the noise down and removed the barrel connectors. In their place I soldered 16 gauge wire and added some Anderson PowerPole connectors.
