1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I bought bitcoins from my first online payment.. on: May 31, 2024, 07:45:12 AM
Congratulations op i can feel the joy in your sentences and am happy for you too, and your method of managing your first payment is nice. What captured me was the act of kindness shown to the poor, it is indeed a quality to imitate.

Investing in bitcoin is a good decision, the amount you start with does not really matter but your consistency in adding it up due to your weekly or monthly pay grows the investment even before you know it.

About online payment, I haven't received any but I know the joy that come with receiving a salary. Once again congratulations op and more success.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it proper for one to trade Bitcoin through a trusted friend ? on: May 30, 2024, 03:29:13 PM
Op trusting a friend isn't out of place, have seen friends turn brothers and do almost everything together but then it's not really advisable in the area of trading or investing. Trading or investing are attached with significant risks that can result to profiting or loosing which one need to settle down to learn and know what method to go about with.

Trading through your trusted friend with a huge money might not be healthy firstly it might expose you to insecurities, secondly sometimes your friend may run loss, let's say one to three times your friend run loss you might start thinking that your friend is stealing or cheating you even when he is honest and you will see gradually how your beautiful relationship will crash.

It's best to learn and know about trading or investing yourself, then work in course of your study with the method that suit you instead of trading hugely through someone else.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are the smart ones, be careful. on: May 30, 2024, 03:23:31 PM
Thanks op for this reminder because I believe there may be ones whom may have not heard nor seen this kind of method in term of scamming. Don't let greed push you into what you don't know, just be careful in learning and using the right platform.
4  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does power really corrupt? on: May 20, 2024, 02:54:30 PM
As humans we know that corruption is inevitable either because of personal desires or cultural view. Personal greed, secrecy or dishonesty can cause corruption especially when he or she has a powerful position to influence or mandate anything on anyone. Power can either bring out the best or the worst in you.

Thou power has the ability to corrupt anyone in position but when it is in the possession of someone with good intentions for his or her country and high sincerity or integrity, corruption may seem to be less.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seeing is no longer believing on: May 20, 2024, 02:01:20 PM
Imagine being on a video call and everyone interacting with you are fake?
At first I don't believe this until later on, a guy from my local Crypto WhatsApp group lost close to 18k in dollars to scammers, this is a guy who have been a victim of some past scams and jave learned from it all, thinking he has passed been scammed until now.

Sorry for his lost, that is a huge sum of money to loss at this period. One thing we should always know is that it is not always good to rely on just your own knowledge or feeling too over confident of yourself. Ask questions on things you don't know, research and don't be in a haste to invest in anything because of somebody or greed.

The scammers went online and download the pictures of the company, including every staff members, everything they can get and used Artificial intelligence to create fake videos and with fake voices they will use in the video call, I went on doing my own research amd ended up with Deep fake technologies.

These scammers are so desperate that they can go to any length to achieve their goal, they update themselves on different methods and technologies and even applications can look too real to be false just to achieve what they want.
Even as we research and ask questions on how to identify scammers, we still need to be careful and watchful on deals we sign or platforms we invest.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have some old BTC wallet from 2013 on: May 20, 2024, 01:18:12 PM
Was it only his parents who asked you to check his belongings? Did your friend ever ask you to do it? Or did he have any chance to tell you about bitcoin? This might be personal questions but I think before you decide how to open the wallet you should also consider what might have been the decision of your friend. If he didn’t tell anyone I doubt he wanted to leave those coins to someone, if there were any.

You may not be far from the truth, if op's friend wanted someone to know about his bitcoin wallet he would have related it either to his parents or someone else.
These questions need to be considered so as not to go against a friend's wish.

But if it's with the consent of his parents you can go ahead, they still have the right to take decision for their son but the unlocking should be done in their presence (the parents) also following the legit way of unlocking the wallet.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shops now accept BTC on: May 19, 2024, 06:01:49 PM
Bitcoin is on a massive progress though not all part of the world accepts it still bitcoin has proven itself as independent. We all look forward to the day when bitcoin will be accepted and recognized all over the world that is why we need to learn more about it and also educate others there by creating awareness and moving bitcoin to it's final success.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Does bitcoin need more developers? on: May 19, 2024, 05:05:45 PM
Bitcoin developers are ones which with the aid of proper education, training, research and practical work have helped in improving their skills and knowledge about bitcoin resulting to quality contribution to the bitcoin ecosystem, making it fast and efficient.
It is true, bitcoin developers have being increasing over the years but with recent happenings, don't you think bitcoin need more developers?

With the rapid adoption of bitcoin around the world where by some countries now uses bitcoin as a legal tender, companies and some other stores or shop now also uses bitcoin as a means of payment and concerning creating awareness or educating new users, I think the need for more developers should be considered.

Everyday more people are coming in, more hands are needed on security and privacy of bitcoin transactions, assurance of  the primary nature of bitcoin as a decentralized asset, wallet development and educating now users.
I think they should be sent in badges to areas where bitcoin haven't been heard or where their is no knowledge about digital gadgets or have access to the internet.
Am always open to learn and to take corrections.
what are your opinions?
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we increase the awrarness level for Bitcoin adoption on: May 17, 2024, 10:37:07 PM
To be honest I think in today’s time, the most effective way to spread awareness is through the use of social media. Even if you do not intend for them to see it, they will see it as long as you post it online. The internet has come such a long way to the point of connecting a lot of us from different parts of the world has become such an easy feat.

There are multiple social media platforms we can use to spread awareness about bitcoin and it won’t even be hard to do so. The only challenge we’ll encounter is people having misconceptions about bitcoin and never accepting any kind of reasoning.

Yes noted, the fastest way to spread information or create awareness is through social media. Once it's posted, it goes viral and this can help too in the case of bitcoin but then there should be ways to reach out to those who are in remote villages, those without any digital asset or who can't access the internet.

In my opinion, I will suggest we speak or teach anywhere we find ourselves and to anyone who cares to learn, the use of local radio, flyers, newspaper etc. Also open speech in local meetings or town center and even schools can help too in creating awareness about bitcoin.
This can only be carried out with joint efforts as a team, it is not a one man journey so we all can help out in any way we can to make this a success.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Imagine owning a Bitcoin note. on: May 17, 2024, 02:49:39 PM
Bitcoin is not centralized electronic currency, it is a decentralized digital currency. Where did you see such wrong information that bitcoin is a centralized currency?

Bitcoin is possible in physical form like Casascius Bitcoin which contains the private key of an amount of bitcoin but government will not make such project to move forward.
Thanks for correcting the OP, Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, that is not owned by any country, and it doesn't have any central office, if it becomes a physical currency, then the purpose of it's creation, would be defeated. If Bitcoin becomes a physical currency or cash, then it must submit to a central bank that will regulate it's printing, meaning that it'll them become centralized and that privacy that comes with holding it will not be possible again. I think that Bitcoin is better off being a digital cash than a physical one, the only thing that we need is massive adoption, so we can carry out transactions anywhere in the world.

I will agree with you, in as much as bitcoin have the potential of being a main currency or note for transactions, the reflection of it's decentralized nature can give us another thought. For bitcoin to be a hard currency, certain process needs to be considered. It will be controlled by central banks and government, it must be generally accepted worldwide, bitcoin price will be stable due to high rate of adoption etc.

All we need is to know more about bitcoin, knowing how well to use it easily and also create awareness in educating others with insufficient knowledge about bitcoine.
One uniqueness of bitcoin is it's decentralized nature so making it a hard currency will rather ruin bitcoin, It is better off a digital cash.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learning by myself on: May 16, 2024, 02:54:11 PM
Op, to you I will say your friend did the best for you, he didn't want you to depend on him rather he showed you how you can help yourself which every good friend would do. Learning takes determination, when you set your mind to learn something you won't see it as hard instead as being enjoyable.
Reading and understand is the best to do and then asking questions that disturbs you here in the forum to get helped by seniors.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Making a long post is not the ultimate on: May 16, 2024, 02:32:08 PM
We are all here to learn, taking corrections should also be part of learning. When you are being corrected and then you take correction, you will see yourself growing even without you knowing. Sometimes you may not see the impact of the correction at that time but you will later realize it the best to be taken.

In my opinion, lengthy post sometimes discourages many to read even when you may love reading, your post may be a quality one but due to the length many will see it stressing to read to the end.
This is a correction which should be taken and then try to readjust, it is also important to we newbies too to learn from this correction.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest in Bitcoin because others are investing in Bitcoin on: May 16, 2024, 02:04:04 PM
As we all know, everything should be done by choice. Investing because people are doing so or because you are being influenced into investing in bitcoin is not good for any investor. You shouldn't allow yourself to be influenced or investing because people are doing so, following the crowd may be a lucky step for you in terms of making profit but most times disastrous.

It is best to understand or have a good knowledge about bitcoin before investing in it. Knowing about bitcoin investment completely with make u fully equipped, knowing the best strategy to use and also make you good in decision making. Even after knowing about bitcoin very well, it remains your choice to invest whenever you want, it is your money and you alone knows how hard you may have worked to earn it so you make sure your money is going the right way. Never do anything because people are doing it because it always end badly.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ? on: May 15, 2024, 06:52:08 PM
With the little I know, I talk about bitcoin with my friends and sometimes even with strangers due to discussion that comes up. Talking about bitcoin help the knowledge about it sink more into me and also create awareness to those who do not know.

About influencing someone, I have not infact I would not want to influence someone into investing in bitcoin because if anything goes wrong, the outcome would not be nice, it can result to me being blamed for it and at the end spoils our good relationship with each other. The best I can do and even advise is that we should help in whatever way, to make others have  sufficient knowledge about bitcoin and then leave the decision of investing for them to make instead of influencing them.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: People are interesting talking more about their success stories. on: May 15, 2024, 04:53:36 PM
In this case, I will say relating good or bad stories works together with certain benefits. Relating stories of success is good because it can serve as a medium where someone can know about bitcoin and can also serve as a motivation to the listener, which can result to him(the listener) wanting to know more about bitcoin.
When it goes wrong, it is also good to relate it to people who care to know, losing is as a result of a mistake made out of bad decision making. Sharing your unsuccessful story can serve as an experience to learn from, so that other can know how to or what method to use when faced with similar challenge.

In addition I will advise, as newbies we should do more of learning, research on our own then ask experts to guide us on where needed because not everyone would want to relate their stories of failure maybe due to shame or embarrassment.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As newbies we should know the significant risk in trading on: May 14, 2024, 07:49:55 PM
- Making decisions out of emotion can cause great loss in trading. For one to gain profit in trade, he must make wise decisions without fear or greed.

Can you elaborate on this? Do you have any personal experience of this? I mean I want to know how emotions can impact trading? And how do you control your emotions when trading?

The word emotion can be seen as an internal state of being, an unintentional (involuntary) reaction of a human towards something or a situation.
In course of trading emotions like fear, greed, overconfidence, etc can affect you either in losing or making profit. The fear of losing your assets or something else can lead you to make bad decisions in trade, also the desire of wanting more than deserved (being greedy) can also result badly at the same time being overconfident (being extremely certain) may also turn out bad but sometimes good due to luck.

Controlling your emotions when trading starts from you, that is why you need to be ready first before going into trading. Even when trained at a point you make fall prey because emotions are unintentional, they are done even before we know it but it can be minimize if worked on.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How active can a newbie be daily? on: May 14, 2024, 07:06:43 PM

How many quality Posts can someone make daily before he or she can be considered active on this forum, sorry I ask a lot of questions so u can learn too.

They already gave you the answer to your question. And being active doesn't necessarily mean that you should be posting on the forum consistently. It means having a good idea and understand how the forum works. As a newbie, been active mean you have to learn, take your time to understand each and every concept concerning every new topics. You can aswell learn from old topics.

Making post also makes you active but that's when you know and understand what your are making a post about. A newbie who is active and writing false replies or posting rubbish isn't actually active. He is considered a spammer and shit poster. For this reason, some newbies might be finding it difficult to grow here on the forum.

So you been active means you should learn more and write less. That's what it means for a newbie.

I stand in agreement to this because being active as newbies, it is expected of us to learn and understand the forum first. Before one can create a quality or upbuilding post here in the forum, it is as a result of constant reading of previous post and questions answered by the seniors in the forum.
My opinion on this is that as newbies we have a lot to learn, so we can be active on the forum anytime we want due to our time schedule in reading and learning from our seniors so as to improve and make good contributions or create upbuilding topics that can help us and others in the forum.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / As newbies we should know the significant risk in trading on: May 14, 2024, 06:21:20 PM
As newbies there are lots of things we need to know and work along with. As a newbie, it is expected that one must realize that trading comes with significant risk which can lead to loss of income or finance. Therefore in order not to loss money, it is important to know the risk in trading and how to avoid being prey to losing funds.
We can be on a safe side if we observe and follow these tips when trading:

- As a newbie, it is needed for one to have sufficient information, not just sufficient information but accurate information because insufficient or inaccurate information may land us to loss of finance. Having accurate information is very important so as not to loss money.

- Knowing when to buy and also when to sell Is also important because the aim of trading is to make profit, so it is advisable to know when to buy and also when to sell so as to make profit.

- Being greedy is not good when it comes to trade because greed can lead to over trading i.e excessive buying and selling of assets which can lead to loss of income but sometimes you may gain due to luck

- As newbies, we should avoid using borrowed capital in trading thou it is vice versa, we can either gain or loss. So extreme caution is needed.

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get your Dad (or Mom) to buy Bitcoin? on: May 14, 2024, 01:24:45 PM
Investing in bitcoin is a very wise thing to do but it is only possible if you know what it is and how it works, in Other not to go into in the wrong way one need sufficient knowledge about bitcoin. Getting your parents to buy bitcoin is not a bad one but it depends on how civilized they are in the digital world, are they the ones that are conversant with the internet or they are the type who do not have any interest about digital assets or interest. Convincing someone to do something that he or she has no knowledge about is not always good because if by any means it goes the wrong way, you will be held accountable.

Getting either of your parents to buy bitcoin is good but it should be done at their own will and also with full knowledge of what they are going into, not just because of their love for you or because you told them to buy or invest in bitcoin, so that if anything should go wrong your parents will not be disappointed in you rather they will see it as a willing act or decision made by them.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies should be forewarned. on: May 14, 2024, 11:51:15 AM
There are many new members who may not know about these things and who should definitely know about these things.

Those of us who are new members and participants in various giveaway campaigns including Bounty Campaign, Air Drop Campaign should be careful in advance not to connect their wallets to these AirDrop Campaign websites. Many times such airdrop projects come in the market who conduct the airdrop campaign only to cheat. Those campaigns usually offer users a substantial amount of virtual money by completing simple tasks that require the user to connect their important wallet to their website to withdraw. All these new members did not understand the deception of the fraudsters and connected their wallets to the websites of those fraudsters, but it was seen that the user lost all the money deposited in his wallet in a moment. And until he disconnects the wallet from that website, access to the wallet remains with those fraudsters.

So before getting greedy and connecting my wallet, I must think about which website I am connecting my wallet to and whether I am risking my money there.

It is very normal for newbies like me to fall prey to things like this due to limited knowledge about it. Yes, making my own research is very important but being guided by an expert or a senior in the forum will help more on upbuilding  my knowledge on it.
It is very heartbreaking for someone to work so hard to earn money and them loses without achieving anything with it because of his ignorant about what he is going into.

Many newbies do not ask for guidances due to shame or pride, most times because they do not want to be embarrassed but then it is very necessary to ask questions before doing anything not just trading or investing.
Seniors in the forum can also help newbies like me to grow if they offer to guide or educate me or others who need to be guided.

Taking advice is another vital part because it would not be nice to neglect or ignore someone trying to help you in one way or the other. If all these steps are taken I believe no newbie will fall victim to scam or wrong site that can weep away his money.
