trying to do a small experiment on the lightning network with a zero base and zero ppm fee node!
We are not going to connect for now to any large node like ACINQ, OpenNode, Bitrefill....
The aim is to help other "smaller" nodes to route / rebalance.
There will be NO FEES on our side and we ask to do on your side as well (or at least 1/1 fee)
Somebody told me it wont last a year but Im way to much stubborn and will prove that this node will be there at least for ONE YEAR!
The outbound liquidity to balance out the node will be provided between my nodes to avoid unnecessary channel closure and onchain fees (as this node makes no income at all)
We accept anybody with any channel size and promise not to close the channels even if no routing will be made if you will have 0 or 1/1 fees with us.

if you want to support us you can keysend a sat or two or when opening the channel push over some sat

I will be glad to answer any reasonable question and welcome any ideas but Im not interested in hearing why it wont work as said Im stubborn enough to make it work for at least one year and if the node grows and full-fills its purpose I will be glad to support it even longer:)

you wrote that you are using an external HDD this will be the issue. and as the other wrote before the first part of the core is going fast but to the end it slows down.
I was also using an external HDD connected over USB and it was terrible then I tried NVMe disk and the full core was downloaded and validated in less than 20 hours.

I have 2 lightning nodes and none of them is able to connect to lightning.terminal when I open it on my node Im getting this error messages: "UNABLE TO FETCH SESSIONS lit is not ready for: /litrpc.Sessions/ListSessions" I have also checked the logs and found that its not able to connect to the host. Does anybody experience this issue lately or is it only on my side?

Lucky you, you were at least able to login to lightning terminal currently Im not able to run lightning terminal on any of my 2 nodes and Im not able to login either directly on lightning terminal website into my account. Running also umbrel (but 2 different versions)

HI Folks,

I have a Umbrel node and when I restart it the blockchain is missing around 100 blocks. (i have not enabled SSH for my node)
Anybody could point me in the right direction what setting can cause this missing blocks after restart?

There is 1 node with multiple wallets. Each family member uses the same node. I opened the "lightning terminal" then navigated to Connect => Lightning node connect, created a new connection choose "custodial account" and scanned the QR with ZEUS wallet.
the node, channels, liquidity is same for everybody.

I have one node and this node has multiple wallets for family members.

I folks pretty new to lightning Im running my node and wanted to setup wallets for my family (off TOR or VPN) so I went with Zeus connected through Lightning terminal. For sending and receiving works pretty good but I was surprised when a transaction between 2 wallets of my family was routed through ACINQ and fees were charged.
As far I know in this setup the sats of the family members are sitting on my node until they are sent outside, I thought that transaction between the family members would be just some "accounting entry" on my node without sending out and in the sats through some other nodes.
