1  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reversing privatization of important institutions? on: September 15, 2014, 04:41:58 AM
The US government is controlled by corporate interests. I feel sorry for you, buddy. Here in the UK we are now starting to experience the same thing. All our railways were privatized in the 80s and now our most treasured asset, the NHS, is being privatized. And as for ideas as to what we can do, I say we try to awaken as many people as possible (although it will be difficult) and look for alternatives to the current system.

I would probably travel back to the 1920s and make sure that Tesla's inventions came to fruition rather than being seized by the FBI upon his death never to be seen again. I truly believe his inventions would have changed the world as we know it.
3  Other / Off-topic / Would you rather live in a 'moneyless' world? on: September 15, 2014, 04:28:37 AM
Forget about the complications and negatives of living in a moneyless world for one second, but don't you think humanity could finally advance?
4  Other / Off-topic / I know there is no such thing as 'free energy' but what if it was possible? on: September 15, 2014, 04:16:19 AM
I know this is a science forum and not a forum for conspiracy theorists but I have always been intrigued by the idea of a world where everyone has access to 'free' energy. What impact would it have on the world? Would it solve 99 per cent of all problems?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think there will ever come a day where crypto-currencies replace banks en on: August 07, 2014, 05:57:15 PM
I don't think so, because most people don't really want to be free, and thus they prefer the security which comes from bank even though it has many disadvantages.

When it eventually goes widespread hopefully the masses will see the advantages of using crypto-currencies over fiat and the banks will fall

Do you think there will ever come a day where crypto-currencies replace banks entirely?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Guaranteed basic income for everyone but they must give something back in return on: August 07, 2014, 12:07:01 AM
What about a crypto-currency with a guaranteed basic income for everyone but in order to receive this income you must do or give something back in return? This would work perfectly in small communities. With advancements in technology meaning that more and more people are losing their jobs, this could be a solution to that problem. And yes I have heard of Luddite fallacy but I believe technology will eventually displace most jobs. Although there will be new jobs created I highly doubt it will be enough to sustain the world's population. Surely most of these new jobs created will be technology-oriented and not everyone is skilled or intelligent enough to work with these technologies.

Excuse my English. I am German.
