1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how often do you rely on prediction sites on: July 21, 2024, 03:38:06 PM
If I don't have much knowledge on the particular sport then I use prediction sites.

Otherwise, I just use my own methods. At least then, if I lose, I can live with it and not blame the prediction site.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Filipinos Playing crypto games for a living - Developer even says it is gambling on: July 21, 2024, 03:36:40 PM
There is no problem with incentivising players with prizes or monetary rewards.

The issue is when the player becomes unhappy with such small rewards and wants something bigger.

This is how a gambling addiction can start.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: July 11, 2024, 02:55:44 PM
In addition, some inexperienced gamblers lose and drop game after first failure, and move to other game, lose there and continue moving from game to game, loosing all budget, instead of learning game rules. I would add this to a list of mistakes - leaving game after first loose, without understanding why they have lost and how game works. Even if gambler lose first time, I would give a game a second and maybe third try, to become more experienced in it.

Agreed. Also, having a lack of discipline can be a killer. Sometimes, it is best to cut your losses, go home and come back another day instead of chasing that first loss and losing even more money.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can free games be gambling? on: July 07, 2024, 11:27:35 AM
My sole purpose of gambling is to make money so I don't see the purpose of playing free games however some people enjoy games that don't require money to play so more power to them.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Rematch: FURY vs USYK 21st December 2024 on: July 06, 2024, 03:33:35 PM

Wasnt Fury leaning on Wilder, making him lose stamina while they were in clinch? There is nothing positive if during fight a +120kg guy hung on your shoulders. Wasnt there also something tricky with one of his gloves? I remember pictures of it and people pointing that it looks strange. Due to long hands, when dodging, Fury sometimes likes to headlock (lock opponents head and neck between his body and arm, and hold like this) opponents.

If you seriously think Fury cheated or any of the other ridiculous conspiracy theories, you are a low IQ individual.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Summer Olympics 2024 on: July 05, 2024, 03:39:54 PM
I always enjoy the athletics, it’s probably my favourite thing to watch at the Olympics.

There is so much to watch though, I usually have it on the TV in the background, regardless of what sport is on. There isn’t much I really can’t watch.

Any particular event you like in athletics? I ask that because most people I speak to only watch the 100m and 200m and disregard the dozens of other events.

This will be the first Olympics that I actually bet on so interested to see how I go.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake did it again! Another huge losing bet... on: July 05, 2024, 03:33:56 PM
I think Drake is working with a casino and might actually be putting up a charade. I saw him in ads belonging to a popular casino and that changed my view on his stories of loss. Initially I thought he was losing those funds and because he is rich, I felt that was small money for him. But appearing in the ads of a casino means he might be getting the money back as payment for his promotion of the casino. It is important that we don't get distracted or frightened by the case of Drake, and focus on winning and not dwell in the fear of losses such as he incurred.

Drake works exclusively with Stake.

Any other casino/gambling endorsements you see with his name are either AI generated fakes or done by dodgy and low reputational casinos without the knowledge of Drake.

8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Rematch: FURY vs USYK 21st December 2024 on: July 05, 2024, 03:30:53 PM
Fury might get knocked out in the rematch.

How is he going to beat Usyk? He was getting killed on the inside, couldn't close the range when fighting on the outside and was fighting on the back foot for the majority of the match.

I genuinely cannot see how he beats Usyk barring a lucky one punch KO (anything can happen in heavyweight boxing).
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About betting on live events. on: July 03, 2024, 05:49:34 PM
Live betting can be profitable if you bet on pre game favourites that are losing.

For example, a team is a heavy favourite is losing at half time. Chances are, they will win in the second half and you will get a much better price.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: July 03, 2024, 02:33:42 PM
It can be a hobby for some but for others it takes over their lives and becomes an addiction.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: July 03, 2024, 02:22:47 PM
Nobody knows what the outcome of a sporting event will be. Everybody just has their opinions. Some opinions are more educated than others but they are still opinions nonetheless.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Bets! on: July 03, 2024, 02:17:55 PM
It's a huge surprise for me that people needed to wait till the debate to know that Biden is not actually ruling the nation. It was obvious from the first day that Biden has no idea what he's doing and there are other people who controls the power with Biden as a showing teeth.
Trump is not a good choice either but he's a multiple times better than choosing a ghost ruler. The people who rule a country without a face has no moral obligations to the people and would work in benefiting themselves than the general population. Biden is an elderly person who is being tortured through these debates and election process.

They are both equally terrible candidates who will be in their 80's by the end of their terms. Is this really the best America has to offer?
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: July 02, 2024, 04:36:57 PM
Amongst young men I would say sports betting is the most popular by far.

14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: July 02, 2024, 10:27:55 AM
Statements like this remind us that you never leave any money in any exchange except the small amount you can do for trading,if you trade a lot then surely you should take into consideration the risks associated with it when joining a big one.In gambling we all know that people do all sort of shit just to feed their gambling addiction.Spending someone else's money when you have the power to do so is something that is done quite often in the gambling world yet different outcomes it has produced, the most extreme people being killed for not being able to substitute such amount of money and being killed by the person/entity who lost that money and of course in here I am talking for really huge amount of money, kinda like mafia movies.Really bad to see this happening but I guarantee that these cases will be going on as long as humanity will exist.

Agreed. Keep the vast majority of your crypto on a hardware wallet. FTX is a good example.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware Cold Wallet vs Paper Cold Wallet on: July 02, 2024, 09:57:52 AM

Paper wallet is inferior because it only has one private key and one wallet address.
If you don't plan to accept more coins in same cold storage than paper wallet should be fine basic option.
However, I prefer using hardware wallets or generating seed words offline and writing them on paper or metal plates, multiple addresses can be generated this way.

What about if I purchase more crypto in the future. How can I transfer it from the online exchange to my offline wallet safely? Won't by hardware wallet be compromised once it is connected to the internet?

A hardware wallet like Etherum, Ledger, Nano X, Trezor Model T, and KeepKey are examples of good hardware wallets
Etherum is NOT a hardware wallet  Roll Eyes
Ledger is not a good example of hardware wallet, they are making only closed source devices and ledger Nano X is one of the worst hardware wallets ever, that has many issues with poor battery.

Could you recommend what the safest offline hardware wallet would be?

Is there a thread on this forum? I have only heard of Ledger, Nano X and Trezor tbh so not sure what is reliable and what isn't.

OP, you should really provide an update here to let us know if there has been any progress made otherwise it defeats the whole purpose of creating the thread in the first place.

I have an image saved on my computer. How do I insert it into a forum reply (is it possible?)

Newbies cannot insert images into replies.

You will need to upload the image to a website and post the link in your reply instead.

Refer to the below thread for more information.

I think they do this to stop players abusing bonuses and promotions.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Bets! on: June 28, 2024, 01:05:10 PM
Eager to see how this debate is going to influence the odds and the perception the people of the United States have on both candidates. Though, I would like to point out I would have liked to see Kennedy Junior to also be part of this debate, and not being a replay of what we already saw four years ago with exactly the same candidates. If CNN and other news channels agreed to also host Kennedy Jr, then I am sure Trump would rather not to attend and debate Biden, Kennedy takes an important percentage of votes from both Biden and Trump, neither of the parties want to give him a platform to discourage voters to go for the two obvious alternatives.
Also, I have noticed how Trump seems to have tone down his discourse about Biden health and cognitive behavior, he even said Biden would probably do good at debate and he does not want to underestimate him.

The odds for Trump shortened during and after the election.

That was a disaster for Biden. There is no other way to put it.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Hardware Cold Wallet vs Paper Cold Wallet on: June 27, 2024, 05:44:09 PM
Hi Guys,

I'm looking at purchasing a Cold Wallet to store some of my crypto (currently on an exchange).

I am not interested in trading or accessing it, I just want to HODL.

I have done my research and am leaning towards the latter.

To the more experienced crypto bros, would you recommend a hardware wallet or a paper one?

Thank you.
