2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: October 14, 2014, 03:51:01 AM
If one hashing card connected to the control PCB and it doesn't hash, please try connecting the Hashing PCB to the other connector slot on the S3 control PCB.  S3 control has to have Chain 1 side connected in order to hash.

UPDATE
I removed the cover from the s3 and noticed one of the capacitors had fallen off =)
is there a way to have the s3 hash with only 1 hashing board ?  apparently if one board is faulty the s3 does not hash at all--am I wrong ?

I tried it, and it still does not hash.  fans spin super loud almost like a leaf blower.  the red light stays on, however I am able to access the UI. one of the capacitors fell off and has caused it to act bonkers.

I am experiencing something super weird with my s3.  my s3 hashed like normal, however I powered off my s3 to do some dusting, when I powered it back on the fans spin like crazy and are super loud, and the red LED stays on.  I can access the web UI, but the device will not hash.

does anyone know if this is fixable ?  thanks

sorry if this topic has been discussed.  I am skimming through the 370+ pg thread now to look for something similar.

7  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 27, 2014, 01:10:54 AM
Hello, i have an s3 that is acting very weird.  the chip frequency disappears on some of the firmware flashes, and it will not hash.  the only time it hashes is with the firmware from 7/21/2014 and it hashes at a speed of 120gh/s tops.  anyone experience anything like this ?  is there an end-user fix...or is this an RMA candidate ?  thanks

(i will try and post pictures later)
After you flash, you need to manually set the freq. and save and restart the miner.

i shall try that now....will update in a few mins.

16  Economy / Computer hardware / SOLD (WTS) GridSeed Blade For Parts on: August 20, 2014, 04:27:54 PM
SOLD.

i have a gridseed blade that was overclocked, was getting close to 7mh/s on it.  has a short, live-wire was plugged in, and it stopped working properly.  it won't hash or detect.  when i plug in the power the fans spins, but that's about it.  The device is not acknowledged by the USB...it is not detected.  the device itself is in pretty good condition.  i don't really have the skill set to determine if it's a fried resistor, or if it has an FTDI chip like old BFL asics that may have gotten fried, hence it does not detect.  The pcb looks pretty good, i cannot see anything burnt.

Make me an offer (keep in mind you pay shipping also)

no cables or psu will be included, but it will include the 3 extra fans.  Thanks

Pic 1 Front of GS.  i have 3 extra fans for cooling.  it was an overclocked unit.  fans were soldered onto pcb.

Pic 2 Shows entire PCB from above

Pic 3 is view of where the live wire connection happened.

Pic 4 back of the pcb, right below barrel jack.

17  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] your defective Gridseed/Zeus miners (and other) on: August 15, 2014, 02:49:58 AM
Also looking for 1 cheap defective erupter cube.

Hi,

I have a cube miner that has 2 X's on the chips when logging into the  UI.  It goes 34-36 gh/s depending on which pool it is set to.  any interest, if so....make me an offer.  Thanks

Most of the newer asics are selling for 1$/GH, and a rockminer 35GH is 0.1 BTC.
That's more or less what I'd pay including cheapest tracked shipping to France.
I won't use it to mine, I'll try to use it to build upgrade blades with BE200 chips.
I guess many people still have the cubes and would like to be able to upgrade them.

i am going to send you a PM
