2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a defence against digital abundance on: September 22, 2025, 02:22:54 PM
AI isn't designed to disrupt jobs nor destabilize any economy. Rather the goal is to redefine, enhance and improve jobs and its description. Other than spreading FUD just to pushing the narrative of accumulating more bitcoin in order to secure the future, why not encourage people to re-evaluate their skills and see how much it aligns with the future trend.

Surely, it makes some processes easier / more automated, but still, skills in something specific and deep knowledge bring much more to the table.

It allows you to be demanded Wink
I don't know why people see AI as a threat to human labour in the future, they shouldn't forget that humans created it to aid us in performing varieties of tasks that can be too bulky for human capacity so indirectly humans still have control over it and can still use it to their own advantage to generate income for themselves.
Talking about Ai taking away people's job, yes some jobs could be threatened but not all like the professional jobs that would require human attention infact it would even help those in professional field enhance their ability to carry out tasks accurately so it's not a threat but an aid.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3 reasons why El Salvador could overtake US in BTC holding on: September 21, 2025, 01:08:39 PM
The US own a lot of Bitcoin because they confiscated tainted coins, I think it can't be compared to El Salvador who own the 6K Bitcoin using their own money to buy it. In the long run, US should be own the most coins among other countries because high illicit activities never stop, which make US can get many coins in the future despite they're selling their coins.

US currently own 190K Bitcoin while El Salvador only own 6K Bitcoin, the gap is too huge.

People think that because the US haven't come out publicly to announce that they've bought a specific amount of coin means that they're not holding Bitcoin or the amount they have is less than that of what El Salvador is holding, many government of these big nations don't really but bitcoin directly but own it through confisticated funds stored in Bitcoin through illegal activities.
Even when the US would start buying and storing as a reserve i think they'll have more buying power than El Salvador to own a large amount of coin, but with the very large quantity they have from confiscated funds i don't think they'll buy but keep seizing illegal funds and hodl for the future.
4  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Think carefully before beginning bitcoin investment on: September 18, 2025, 09:52:40 AM
Though bitcoin is a very good asset for investment, but to dive into bitcoin investment, one need to gather some knowledge about how the investment works,  and you can do this by seeking the advice of experts, do your own research properly before you dive into bitcoin investment.
There is one thing worthy to note, bitcoin is a volatile investment and the price movement is always very unstable, and that is why for one to make profit in bitcoin investment, long time holding is the key probably within the period of five to ten years precisely.

It's not a bad idea to seek advise on something from people that's got experience from it, but when doing so it's good to ask the right people cause some people have the mindset of investing only for a short period and are experts in doing that, anyone that doesn't advices you on hodling first long-term and bring up excuses just to take profits is not a real investor and shouldn't be payed attention to.
Although merely knowing the basics is enough to start up Bitcoin investment but carrying out research to get clearer  understanding is very important too, however the main thing is to be willing to invest and have the necessary required money to invest in Bitcoin.
5  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why so much excuse instead of investing. on: September 17, 2025, 12:00:10 PM
This also builts your habbit of becoming a go getter instead of a procrastinator. If you keep saying you're going to invest but waiting for the perfect condition to enter the market, you won't invest. Start with whatever you have and slowly build your portfolio the more you got more spare cash. Investing isn't supposed to be instantly because there's always going to be better opportunities to enter the market so start with what you got. If you also have the financial capacity to buy at once don't hesitate to do it but be ready to hodl for long and not investing then expecting returns in just few weeks of hodling.
Exactly, at some point you just have to move from thinking to doing, because the habit itself ends up being more valuable than the size of the first buy. Even if it is tiny, you start proving to yourself that you can stick with it, and that discipline is what compounds over time. The market will always offer better entries, but the people who win are the ones already in the game and adding steadily, not the ones still waiting for the perfect moment that never comes.....
That's the truth bro, practice makes perfect and when a potential investor starts and remain consistent their portfolio would get better on the long run, Bitcoin investment is not about how rich one is but how consistent the person can be in investing even though it's about a little percent of their income to Bitcoin.
One thing about procrastination is that it hinders opportunities and I believe that those who are waiting for a better entry are big procrastinators cause when you know about the DCA there'll be no need to wait for a good entry since all entries are okay so far you're using the DCA method for Bitcoin investment.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal Introduces Bitcoin as New P2P for Payments on: September 16, 2025, 11:19:01 PM
Yes, quite a bit. I'm used to it paying things online (linking my cards and banks), i don't usually pay crypto these days due for my reasoning of holding it, but i do sometimes when it's below $30.

About their expansion, i only think it could take more time or execs discussion since it needs regulation in any country or juridisction they want to implement. Just like any CEX does for licensing..
It's a welcome development for them since it could attract more customers to app, especially for those whose been longing waiting for them to do so, although not every love the idea of using CEX since it requires them to do KYC and link their card for identification and stuff.
Currently people value Bitcoin for holding and would prefer to keep it in their portfolio for as long as possible but those whose held for quite a long time can still sell some portions maybe through PayPal since they now got P2P.
7  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What is your opinion? on: September 14, 2025, 09:42:16 PM
OP, our moderator, Igebotz been done create thread to bring to our notice concerning the P2P AI assistant for bybit and how eh fit help tackle the problem of scam for that particular app, eh be like bybit done get too much complaints from customers so them decide to create that AI assistance. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5553857.msg65676316#msg65676316
Also, if you feel say a particular exchange no dey trust worthy or them get plenty vendors with scam potential for their P2P then I go suggest you try another exchange, them still get others asides Bybit we our government no sanction and their P2P they work for Nigerians.
8  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Yet, Another Scam Method on: September 13, 2025, 12:51:06 PM
OP, I really love how you start your post within "if scammers no rest den we too no go rest to create awareness" eh make sense say you bring this information here cause lots of people no really dey aware of this their new method including me, these people dey really take their time to formulate new ways of stealing money so we too need to dey extra careful in securing our money.
Maybe Opay no really dey aware of these new tactics these scammers they use with their app, na to create awareness to them always so they go take note then know how to tackle the situation, then people wey dey use Opay too go need they check their notifications and email from time to time to avoid cases like this.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 🏆 If You're New to Crypto Here's Some Stuff I Wish Someone Told Me Early On on: September 13, 2025, 11:53:57 AM
not your keys not your coins is absolutely made many people think that if you don't have full control means it isn't your funds even if it's your funds that you have deposited. There is a chance that your funds will be taken like you did not follow their rules or terms and conditions that's why many people prefer using non-custodial wallets where they have full control of their funds.

Some people are good at buying bitcoin consistently but the problem is that they don't know how to protect what they're accumulating, you'll be suprised that many still do save heavily on wallets in exchanges thinking it's safer cause it's safe in the exchanges wallet, some still don't understand what it means by not your keys not your coins and it's good that threads like these are created often to enlighten more people concerning Bitcoin security.
The non-custodial wallet like you've said is by far the safest cause users have full control of their asset without being under the mercies of the owners of an exchange or so, bitcoin has become a very important asset so it's good to secure it properly in a good wallet and not in some exchange.
10  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Must everyone invest in Bitcoin? on: September 08, 2025, 11:29:46 AM
I had a conversation with someone outside this forum and my choice of topic "Must everyone invest in Bitcoin" was his question, it's a nice question for someone that's willing to know about Bitcoin so I decided to bring it here to know the opinion of members of our Local board.
Well my own opinion and reply to him is that it's a matter of choice, Bitcoin investment is not forced on anyone, yes anyone can invest in it but must be willing and should have the necessary requirements to do so, moreover it's not the only investment option and there are lots of others like Real Estate, Gold, Stock, and even Commodities like agricultural, petroleum/natural gas, livestocks etc.
However since Bitcoin is a modern form of investment, the best digital asset and has become a very reliable asset that can generate good profits for long-term it would be nice to seize the opportunity of investing in it as it's still very early compared to when the price would go higher in the future, hopefully.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: August 13, 2025, 02:35:56 PM

I think the best thing every under developing country won't regret doing now in the future is doing what El Salvador and Pakistan are doing currently, any country that does that would always be on the winning side so far the price of Bitcoin keeps increasing but then I wonder why they're not but keep going to borrow money and put themselves in more debt that affects them economically.
Bitcoin is the key to financial freedom in future for countries, firms, industries and individuals that follow it's path we can see how countries that are officially doing that are having a progressive portfolio, to show that it's worth it.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump's Bitcoin advisor David Bailey to execute $1B Bitcoin buy tomorrow on: August 13, 2025, 02:17:00 PM
It's wonderful that you've earned four merits for not understanding anything, just like almost everyone else who has commented on the thread, starting with the OP. The fact that Bailey is making a purchase for the Nakamoto company, and that he has a relationship with Trump, has nothing to do with the US buying or not buying bitcoin, but you and the others continue to do your thing. I foresee a multipage thread with multiple comments following mine criticizing how the alleged (and false) US purchase has not affected the market.

The US have not officially come out to say they're buying yet, I know same people would think the executed $1b is indirectly the US buying the reserve but they forget that Trump was already a business man before he held position of the Presidency and can decide to invest from his own pocket into the Nakamoto company like you said.
Also there's no way that US would buy the reserve that the market won't be affected in a positive way it's not possible, that alone should've helped them understand what played out,El Salvador and Pakistan are smaller economies once the big boys come out in public to say they want to act like El Salvador the market would definitely be moved.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff is now a Bitcoin miner on: August 12, 2025, 03:50:36 PM
https://x.com/EliNagarBrr/status/1927515783518715995

It has happened. Our most famous bear has received a Braiins Mini miner to mine bitcoins in his home as a gift.

I wonder if he will connect it to ckpool and find a block?   Grin

The group of Bitcoin has humbled his ego so he has no option than to join the moving train, this is someone who's said thrash and deviated people's attention from bitcoin in the past, if he had channeled same energy to start mining back then he would've grown a very good portfolio well his luck is that he's still early.
I think his greatest shock that motivated him to start mining is seeing Bitcoin get to $100,000 and still going higher, it's kinda funny though, this is not the end cause nore haters would end up loving bitcoin it's not a debate but fact.
14  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Goodnews: Nigeria is finally setting priorities when it comes to Crypto adoption on: August 08, 2025, 06:32:21 AM
It is taking time for them to have allowed this all along since the country knows that its people are well grounded with crypto knowledge and have embraced it ever before even when there are strict regulations on its use that even led to its ban some years back. It could also be them setting up regulatory framework to make it a suitable investment plans for investors willing to venture and make use of those services.

I commend the bold move by the SEC Director, this shows they know what the people are yearning for and won’t allow Nigeria and Nigerians to be left behind in this new space of financial revolution taking its pace globally. Under a good regulatory framework, stable coin business will be well productive in Nigeria also.

I get your point but then they're not very late in allowing it, even if they're it's better late than never, atleast it's better than some government of top nations who still impose strict bans on cryptocurrency and deprive their citizens to enjoy the benefits that comes with it.
The path of cryptocurrency is the path to the future and we can't go forward as a third world country if we don't embrace it fully, I've seen news in the past saying our country accepts cryptocurrency but the coinmarketcap acknowledging the bold step of the new SEC director is a good one even though it's starting with stablecoins, it's still categorised under cryptocurrency.
Yes it will bro, very productive like you said, it's good we now have reasonable people in such offices that think towards that direction it show that there's hope, we'll take it a step at a time till cryptocurrency is fully embraced and securities stop harassing people who's embraced it.
15  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Goodnews: Nigeria is finally setting priorities when it comes to Crypto adoption on: August 07, 2025, 08:14:46 PM
The recent news am about to share is the reason why we need more smart people with vision in strategic areas of the government cause it would enhance our nation building and improve development in all sectors, hopefully it would get better.
Anyways the Nigerian SEC director now welcomes stablecoin firms under regulatory oversight, which means that Nigeria is now open to welcome stablecoin business, and several firms are already on-board through regulatory sandbox.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governments Are Stacking Bitcoin – U.S., Pakistan, El Salvador… on: August 07, 2025, 07:45:01 PM
The U.S. now holds over 200K BTC in a national reserve.
Are you sure these coins (regardless of what the correct number is) are held as "national reserve" and not just as regular seized assets where the federal government seizes from criminals and eventually auctions when the court process is over?
The difference is fundamental...
The is not even sure otherwise he would have added a source to backup his statement on US $200k holdings in reserve. The US we know won't keep it a secret if they have to buy bitcoin for national reserve just in same way they didn't go secretive on the bitcoins they have been seizing for some alleged criminal involvements. When we talking about countries intentionally buying and stacking bitcoin as national reserve and not by accident it should be El Salvador and Pakistan for now.

I guess this is the closest article that can point out their claims https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/03/establishment-of-the-strategic-bitcoin-reserve-and-united-states-digital-asset-stockpile/

Also as what I know US is not actively buying Bitcoin, but rather they collect those Bitcoin they seize from criminals and use that for their what they say Bitcoin Reserve. For sure many people are waiting for those kind of announcement, since their announcement of buying would provably hype lots of people following this situation.

Which means that they wait for criminals to steal then take the stolen funds in bitcoin from the criminals as their reserve, if you think about it sounds kinda true cause I'm yet to see any articles talking about the US buying a specific amount of Bitcoin for their strategic reserve.
I respect El Salvador and Pakistan a lot when it comes to owning a reserve they're the only official countries so far that use their money to regularly buy bitcoin and store as reserve without waiting to seize funds from criminals before owning one.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin eliminate local banks? on: August 07, 2025, 06:41:23 PM
You can also think that banks can start offering their customers bitcoin and crypto if their central banks allow it. Compare bitcoin to fiat and not bank. Also bitcoin is an alternative to fiat and not a replacement. Just know that bitcoin can not replace bank at all. Also it can not replace fiat but you can use it as alternative.

You're making sense, with Bitcoin and a secured wallet, you're your own bank so there's no need for comparism, every strong holder is already banking their money by themselves for the future and it makes much sense since there's no third party and the government or central bank has no control over what's stored in your wallet.
It think it would've been a bit tougher to the legendary Satoshi if he'd decided on wanting to replace the banking system or fiat completely, so he choose the path of an alternative thereby making a thing of choice.
18  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin will still make our dreams possible on: August 07, 2025, 05:00:08 PM
Bitcoin has been seen as the solution to every traumatized economic situation and we can create a balance for it in our own way by the use of bitcoin in a more profitable manner if we can reason to adjust and discover what is necessary enough for us to do, the reason why bitcoin was created is for us all, in having access to our financial lives and taken charge over what belongs to us, i have seen a  number of bitcoin whom by the virtue of bitcoin have been into massive wealth because they learn to know and discover all the benefits in bitcoin and apply to their economic and financial use.
You know what man, you're right, the problem with people is that they fail to identify what they actually want, this has been I big problem overtime, most of us made some mistakes when we first heard about Bitcoin, then people were so myopic that they have to invest in shit ponzi schemes with the money they are suppose to invest in this digital gold and where are all those shit today, no where to be found, although lack of exposure and knowledge cost some people some real good stuffs although they also learnt in a very difficult way, sincerely speaking, a good number of individuals has made it big from Bitcoin but the thing is they were able to step on the write track early.

The best thing to do when you're wrong and you're aware that you're not doing the right thing is making amends for past mistakes, there are people who had the opportunity of investing in Bitcoin earlier but based on ignorance or whatever may be the case choose those ponzi's but still do not want to make amends.
They still invest in shitcoins cause they think it's cheap and can gain profits quickly, you're right to say they don't know what they actually want and that's just it, because if they really wanted to succeed in cryptocurrency then buying Bitcoin is the easiest route, it's better to follow the less risky but long process than quick but risky one.
19  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Your best advice regarding Cryptocurrencies on: August 07, 2025, 01:55:21 PM
We have always a lot to consider when it comes to cryptocurrencies, and sometimes you don't even know where to start to give newbies important advice. So: what is your best advice for cryptocurrencies?

My best advice is:

Not your Keys - not your Coins

Because storing your coins when you have your own access is always very important if you want to keep control of your coins.

So feel free to let us know what your best cryptocurrency advice is.
When you mean (Cryptocurrencies) is Bitcoin excluded? Cause I had a discussion here with someone who said that it shouldn't be categorised as part of cryptocurrency but just a digital currency or just Bitcoin.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5546384.msg65648672#msg65648672
Anyways I still do believe that Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and my advice to newbies is that if they want to invest on cryptocurrency they should go for the best which is Bitcoin, the rest are very risky and shitty.
