1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Kraken overvaluing/undervaluing BTC to scalp? on: August 21, 2024, 10:39:03 PM
So are Kraken over/undervaluing BTC in order to scalp on top of the exchange fee, or is there something that I don't understand here.
Price data for today:

$59,622. Kraken

$59,700. Binance

$59,445. CoinGecko

$59,609. CoinMarketCap

The price data you said is not for today, it might be the price one week ago, as far as I know from the data I have seen, if you want to do scalping trading for now on any exchange you do the same, there's only a slight difference, but that's normal in price disputes, except for the comparison of $50k with $60k, yes, that can be said to be abnormal.

For me, the Kraken exchange and others are not too striking, it's something normal in price changes per minute and second in the crypto market.

22th of August 06:34 HK time: Euro

Kraken: Buy: 56,084.41 Sell: 54,180.53

Binance: 55,375.76

Coingecko: 55,126.69

Coinmarketcap: 55116.80

I'm wondering if it's because I'm not using Kraken Pro?

For those asking if I'm using credit card to buy it.
No, I have money deposited in my Kraken account already.

Hi All,
Curious about this.

Whenever I try to buy Bitcoin via Kraken, I always find them to be around 1000+USD above the going market rate as per what I can find from other sources.
For example, yesterday Kraken said that 1btc = 54,273.11 euro.
At the same time, google said that 1btc = 52,966.49
Coinbase: 1btc = 53,016.24
Coingecko: 1btc = 52,997.37

Furthermore, at a different point in time, I tried to both buy and sell at the same time.
When selling, they valued btc at 52,358.51. When buying, the valued it at 54,399.66.
And then they charge a transfer fee on top of that.

So are Kraken over/undervaluing BTC in order to scalp on top of the exchange fee, or is there something that I don't understand here.

TIA
