1  Bitcoin / Mining support / GUIMiner-scrypt Error for LTC on: April 01, 2013, 05:24:37 AM
First off, thank you for this site. I appreciate all the peeps that have made great documentation so far into getting into BTC and other crptocurrencies.
However, I do have a problem...

Stats:
OS: Windows 7 64
CPU: Intel Core i7 3610QM
GPU1: Intel HD Graphics 4000
GPU2: nVidia Geforce GT 650M
RAM: 8GB
Type: Laptop

Yes, I know I shouldn't run this on a laptop, whatever, but peace.
I am currently running the official LTC Client and am doing fine with that for CPU mining, but am wanting to do GPU, tis where I found out about GUIMiner-scrypt. Using this, I can mine with the nVidia GPU with no issues, but cannot with either the Intel CPU or GPU. I get the following info from the Console:

Intel CPU

Notes: the "shutting down" was manually done by myself from within the GUI hitting the Stop button
I also have tried to manually edit the reaper/litecoin.conf files in the folders in which reaper was created for each tab being used and even have replaced reaper.exe to see if that made a difference. It has not and has always ended up in the bad allocation error as shown above.

Passwords have been verified. the nVidia one works, the other Intel CPU/GPU does not. I am just trying to get them running one at at time within the same GUI first before anything happens.
What else can I do?

EDIT:
Could not get help in Newbies section, so I moved the topic to here.

Well poo.  If I knew how to compile a Windows binary, I would and start testing for ya.  I wouldn't mind being a node/connection to help out in the network at all.

It is not lowered, it only goes up.

You can have the 5 you gave me back.  I just wanted to see how this all works and all and hopefully, I will have some coins popping up every couple of days.  Smiley

Thank you for running a great program/incentive!  I appreciate it!

So based on reading all the above, if more machines get added, then the difficulty rises?

Also, the reverse of that should apply as in, the Slashdot users, including myself after reading the article, if the amount of users/computers decreases then the difficulty is lowered?
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another newbie/wannabe geek is confused on: July 13, 2010, 03:18:20 AM
That is cool.  I was just wondering about all of that.  I just wanted more connections to help out is all.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another newbie/wannabe geek is confused on: July 13, 2010, 12:29:20 AM
I have some questions too as well regarding the amount of connections I can acquire.
Machine Specs:
OS: Windows 7 32bit
khash/s: 700 to 900
Connections: 8
Current Blocks: 25K and rising
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.53GHz 2.54GHz
RAM: 4GB

I am only getting 8 connections at the moment and was wondering how do I need to go about getting more.  Port has been forwarded as far as I can tell properly, will check it again upon request.

I saw this on Slashdot and figured I would give this a try and am very interested in this concept and will do what I can to help.
I do like P2P/Distributed Computing concepts and this one seems to work for me at the moment.

Thank you for your help.
