2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Season on: September 30, 2025, 06:06:21 PM
Is there someone else or is it just me that finds a match that only one of the team is playing with the ball. To me,  this Real Madrid match that's ongoing is just so boring for, I was falling asleep and waking up at intervals while watching because of the boring nature of the match. I was even expecting lots of goals from Real Madrid. The first half was pretty disappointing because that's not the sore score I had expected with the way they are playing.
I'm not really enjoying this match too, I feel Real Madrid came to this match only to secure a win and so far they have gotten 2 goals for their stress. They aren't really giving me the entertainment I was expecting while watching this match, but it is all good. I pity those who staked for more goals to come in the match, they would be battling serious disappointment by now. On the other hand Chelsea's lineup just tells me that they are really underestimating Benfica forgetting that they really need a win in this match to get back in contention. Using Gusto who has lost form to play right back is not giving for me and the combination of Chalobah and Badshille is not a good one. Badshille makes lots of defensive mistakes and I would not be surprised if Benfica hammers first.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does data really help us bettors, or are the bookies just always ahead? on: September 30, 2025, 05:56:54 PM
Sports betting is always a scenario of robbing Peter to pay Paul and most times more Peters are robbed and lesser Pauls are paid which brings about their advantage. The bookies have a special tool to ensure you have more constraints to winning and that is by providing you many more options to select from. Some of these options makes the gamblers to think variety and make end up shooting themselves on the foot with their selections especially when you go for the ones with bigger odds and lesser possibility of playing out.

There is still a possibility of using data to make predictions and beating the bookies long term, but only few gamblers actually beats the bookies, most gamblers are in loss, so the bookies always have the advantage.

4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Phishing link of Uniswap on Google site. on: September 30, 2025, 05:40:41 PM
this is especially true for anything which I will connect to my personal wallet.
Connecting your personal wallet to these sites would still expose you to risks of social engineering on those wallets, it is better you have a separate wallet you can connect to these Dex platforms and only send funds from your personal wallet to the service wallet each time you want to effect a swap. Better if you use a cold storage for your personal wallet and send funds from there to your hot wallet which you can connect as you wish and is less risky since only very limited funds should exist on those service wallets.

Let's not pray for war, it can be uglier than you're predicting. When war comes it affects virtually every asset performance whether physical or digital. You can grab your seed phrases and start running only to end up loosing it to criminals or even misplacing it. War doesn't help any assets perform better, when their is peace, investors can make more money and put them in assets and it continues to perform better, when people are on the run, they cannot make money and would only be selling their assets for survival. Although I would always agree that bitcoin is better than gold anytime any day, but for war I'm not in any way a fan of war.
6  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save successfully? on: September 30, 2025, 05:08:59 PM
Let's say a poor person have a father who sick and not able to work, mother who become household for her 5 kids including him, his mother also take a part time job. He's the first kids who work, while his 4 younger brothers are still at school.

He's forced to be a provider for his family, he afford his father, mother, and 4 younger brothers.

If he dare to cut off from all of them, he will able to save money.
I do not like the Idea of people being the sole provider of their family for a longer period of time, If I was the person in question I would mandate all my siblings to learn a craft for at least 2 years before they go to college so they can fend for themselves in their own little ways while I only support them. The world has grown above total dependency, it cripples someone's finances and ensures you do not grow.

My parents I opened a business they do at home and I support them with minimal things now and not entirely being responsible for their total well being since they realize some profits from the home business and If I have more money before the year runs out I would add another for them. I have this principle of settling everyone so I can breath some fresh air.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: The Economics of Scarcity on: September 30, 2025, 05:01:56 PM
Say, if everyone in the world earned $500k a month, do you think everyone would be satisfied? I think not. Someone out there, some people, would still complain about it and say it's not enough. Because, it really isn't enough for their lifestyle and other stuffs.
This is not possible, everyone cannot be earning that amount, else this world would really be a messed up place with no innovation and competitive activities. Wealth is built and to get wealthy you must pay the price by using the limited resources available to create something meaningful that solves a problem just like satoshi who used his digital knowledge to create the financial revolution known as bitcoin.

Quote
what do think is the best way us as individuals can best work on the issues of scarcity ?
Resources would always be limited no matter how you try, so you as an individual should strive to utilize the limited resources to create satisfaction for yourself. People should quit complaining and get down to work getting more creative with the scarce resources. I believe that as long as people desire to make wealth, the resources to make that wealth no matter how scarce it is would always come their way.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Been first born and battling responsibility in this economy on: September 30, 2025, 04:40:25 PM
It feels good to be back after so many life draining hardship of life, I have been battling some life difficulty, my mother sicked for a whole year and as the first born of my family I have to take care of my siblings too, it was too much for me, the little BTC I managed to safe in 2022 have all been used to settle bills and buy drugs for my mom.
I hope you are not only providing for your siblings but empowering them to make money on their own. It would really relieve you of the burden of remaining the provider forever if you enroll them to acquire profitable skills and when they are done and earning they contribute to the family well being too while taking responsibility of providing for themselves.

Quote
If you are from Africa and you happen to be first born of a family where there is nothing like richy rich there is a problem, I thought I could escape this mess by starting to invest but I lost everything to responsibilities.
you cannot run away from responsibilities as a first born in Africa, but you can navigate through it to your advantage by making sure you raise capable hands too so you don't take up the burden forever

Quote
What have I missed? Where should I start from now? Are you the first born of your family? How is the economy treating you and your family?
The economy is rough to everybody and not just first born, inflation is hitting globally so the only thing you can do is to work around your finances to earn more in order to take care of your finances easily.

You missed nothing specifically, continue engaging meaningfully in the forum and maybe there could be something for you.

10  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Balancing Financial security and Bitcoin Accumulation on: September 29, 2025, 03:01:07 PM
Nice lesson! I like the fact that you spoke about automated savings, for emergency funds accumulation, because with manual savings alone somebody might go broke once, as things to spend on will always exist.
How to save? How much is your monthly income? Let's say your monthly income is 30000 Naira. Divide that salary into 3 parts. Give 1 part to your family, and 1 part to your children and buy furniture. You can keep the remaining 1 part for savings. If you keep it this way, you will see that one day the amount of Naira will be large, then you can withdraw that Naira and do something with it!
I find this your example very awkward based on the state of things in the country, #30k would barely be enough for a single person talkless of a family man and having savings from such a little income would be almost impossible for a family man since it is not even enough for feeding judging from the rate of inflation in the country.

Coming to savings, why save fiat when it would surely depreciate on the longrun? we have learned that bitcoin is a store of value and a hedge against inflation and currency depreciation and instead of just holding your discretionary income in fiat, you can invest it into bitcoin and go one or two cycles or more in it and hopefully when you need the funds you would have good profits on your investment.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling discussion❌ Advertising ✅ on: September 29, 2025, 01:57:12 PM
Hello every one, I guess I'm not the only one who noticed that a place where we once know as a forum for discussing about gambling and making our selves better in gambling, Is now an advertising forum, I came looking for discussion that will enlighten me as a gambler, but to my greatest surprise I can't see non.
Yes advertising is part of it but it has now overweight the true purpose if the forum. Which in my own perspective it's wrong, I think measures  should be taken to minimise the rate of at which we make advertisement in the forum.
If you scrolled from the first page of this section to the third page and you find a thread that stimulated profitable gambling discussions, then it's more about you not identifying good topics as against what you claimed. Maybe you can go ahead and create one yourself and let's see your description of enlightenment topic. Maybe as Cantasy right said list out the topics that are not informative here let's see our better still report them to the mods.

FYI where adverts are placed is in the service section and not here in the gambling discussions section.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting Terms ... I Wish I knew earlier on: September 29, 2025, 01:36:38 PM
All these are elementary, sounds like you just started gambling Grin. These are very basic terms and doesn't cover the depth of sports betting. I believe that if you intend covering the terms in sports betting you should cover them in a single thread with  it's versatility and not creating a separate thread for it. It doesn't make sense and such a behavior questions the experience and true identity of the current guy behind the keyboard.

I guess I was right a after all
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: September 29, 2025, 12:58:47 PM
I would not consider holding aside money to buy on the dip to be a variant to DCA, even though buying on dips could be a way to supplement DCA.

Buying on dips is not a variant of DCA because it is different. It does not guarantee buying right away and as soon as you have money, but instead it conditions the buys for if the price dips.

Buying on the dip may or may not happen, since in order for buying on dip to take place the BTC price has to go down to the targeted price level in order for the buy(s) to execute.  If the BTC price does not go down enough to reach the targeted amount(s), then the buy(s) do not execute.

DCA can be designed to buy as soon as you have money coming in, and it is not conditioned on price changes.
Waiting for dips is like doing technical analysis and wait for good time and price for entries. It's very different and opposite with core purposes of Dollar Cost Averaging strategy: To eliminate all technical analysis; to get rid of emotional and psychological effects on timing the market, finding good or best price for entry.
You can still buy dips without necessarily waiting, I believe DCA and dip buying can co-exist without stopping your regular buys.  You can always share your DCA amount into 5 parts and maintain your consistency with 4 parts and continue saving the 1 party consistently until your desired dip surfaces and you lump sum on the dip with already accumulated funds for it and if the desired dip doesn't come by, you buy up with the saved funds or use it to increase your aggressiveness for a while.

Always not a good idea if they think that way. Knowing that the market is unpredictable so for sure that those people cannot able to track on when those dips would really happen.
They don't need to track anything, simply setting buy orders in exchanges can help them keep track of it and execute when the price cuts across such price.

Quote
They are wasting their time for waiting for that what they called perfect timing they think and most provably that they are just slowing down their accumulation then provably doing that thing is unsustainable especially if they see something scary scenario on market that can possibly affect their decision to buy some Bitcoins.

I'd choose not to take any technical situations since for me buying Bitcoin directly at whatever price show up is ideal especially if you are doing DCA with Bitcoin.
You're missing the point here and I'm doubting that you really read the write-up you quoted. There was no indication of stopping your consistent DCA buys in it, instead the suggestion there was to invest 4/5 of your buy amounts and save up 1/5 separately for buying the dip when they occur and if they don't, put the saved funds back to work by using it to increase your aggressiveness in buying Bitcoin for as long as it can last
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Convince others to tap retirement plans on: September 29, 2025, 12:45:08 PM
I personally believe the best return for this would be just avoiding everything else, and have fun with our lives without putting other peoples money into conclusion. Let others do whatever they want to do, and you can just get it better with your own money without having that type of approach for this in the end.
I didn't like the Idea of dealing with unreal statistics here, I would better want to deal with the statistics of those that have actually invested into Bitcoin and not estimate the price might appreciate to when a said quantity of liquidity is present. Bitcoin is for only those that chooses it and their investment is what that counts and not some imaginary investment prospects plowed by AI.

16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: September 29, 2025, 09:12:15 AM
If you can save up to ten years in this way, there is a possibility of increasing the profit several times.
Bitcoin doesn't pay profits, the value of your investment is what keeps increasing, the more you expand your portfolio, the more the the value of your investment increases when the compounding effect of Bitcoin price appreciation acts on it positively and the value of your investment increases by a better margin 1.5x, 2x or more.

The value of your investment compound upon itself as Bitcoin price goes higher and the new higher value still keeps compounding on itself as you hold longer and Bitcoin keeps doing better, so what you're increasing by constantly investing and holding for the said 10 years is the value of your investment and not the profits
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Individual freedom or social problem? on: September 28, 2025, 11:34:39 PM
In recent years, the popularity of gambling, such as sports betting, online casinos, and even casino-style games, has grown significantly, especially with the internet making them easier to access.

Many people see it as a form of leisure or even a way to earn money, while others warn of the risks of addiction, scams, and serious financial losses.

But regarding this subject, I brought some questions for us to address:

Is it just a matter of individual freedom, as long as the person knows how to control themselves?

Or should the government regulate or even prohibit it to protect those most vulnerable?
I wish everybody can control themselves and not gamble excessively. If they can gamble responsibly there might be no need for government intervention. This is because the government mostly goes excessive with their regulation practice. If most gamblers can practice gambling in moderation, The addiction struggles would be greatly reduced and government would have less work to do pretending to be fixing things.

I don't like prohibition by the government because it doesn't stop people from gambling and it's ineffective in its totality, people are crafty and they would always create another means of satisfying their gambling desires.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Point Spread Betting Can Be a Smarter Play on: September 28, 2025, 11:25:59 PM
I always bet on the point spread. I've no fancy for winning selection since there are other better options to pick and stand more advantage than direct winning. Direct winning is a very risky selection as far as I'm concerned and I'm aware some teams win by 1:0, but I'm more connected to points spread betting since it allows me to brainstorm on other possibilities of winning based on their player form and club situation rather than outrightly predicting games to run without much certainty.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2024/2025 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: September 27, 2025, 03:07:51 PM
The first half has been some sort of promising for the Chelsea side with the blues dominating most of the statistics including being up by a goal from E.Fernandez. I believe Estevao is a good player but he's still locked up in some level of childishness, he'll improve though with time. Chelsea controls the midfield in the first half and I hope to see better performances as the second half ensures. On the part of Brighton, I believe they must have restrategized for a comeback this second half meaning we've got plenty of good actions to watch. I still cannot believe Crystal Palace is winning Liverpool. Premier League is getting stronger everyday.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2024/2025 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: September 27, 2025, 02:01:17 PM
I'm now convinced that there is no hope for Manchester United this season because their problems are far from being over and it is looking like no one have a clue at what the solution should be. Although Brentford have been one of their greatest nightmare, I did not expect it to be this terrible that they will lose 3:1 to a team they ought to beat considering the players they have assembled this season. Let us see the motivational speech Ruben Amorim will drop for the fans tonight.
A very disappointing result again, after that win at old trafford against Chelsea last weekend I was expecting this team to come out fully pumped but it otherwise. I don’t see any improvement in this team, from they way they play and how they try to score is very sloppy. Well I think the only positive thing today for them is that finally Benjamin Sesko have scored a goal.

It just so hard for Manchester United to stay out out the bottom half, this is because they can win a back to back premier league game. Honestly when I look at their squad I see a lot of quality but the ability for the coach to o manage them is the problem. Just like you say mate let wait and see what Ruben Amorim will say at the post match conference.
Mind you the win against Chelsea was accidental and not a balanced match played by the two teams. The rubbish changes effected by Maresca cost Chelsea that match and not that Manchester United did anything spectacular. The performances are always the same, I think today's match was a justification that nothing really changed about their situation. Today was a very good day for Brentford to secure a very important win. Thiago was selfish in certain occasions else the difference would've been up to 4. I would not really say nice performance from Brentford, rather a disappointing performance from Manchester United. Congratulations to Brentford, 3 points well secured.
