1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA manual claims tracker (UNOFFICIAL) on: July 30, 2017, 08:19:47 PM
Just a report of my own experience regarding a manual claim:
- contacted @david via Slack, did not get any response
- contact David via email 2 times, did not get any response
- contacted @dom at Slack and got this response: "all of the claims will be processed"

I have not received IOTA or got any updates so far. I trust that everything will get sorted out, but I think that a little more communication about the state of things would help a lot here.

3  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Moving forward with Armory on: April 30, 2016, 12:58:16 PM
Is there any way to download old versions of Armory? I'm looking for the 0.92.3 offline bundle for Ubuntu 12.04 but unfortunately can't find this anywhere. Thanks for any hints.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / "Read-only" rpc user for bitcoind? on: February 19, 2015, 01:25:38 PM
I have bitcoind running on a server and would like to be able to query balances and transactions via RPC. To be safe I would like to limit the rpcuser's access to "read only" functions and block functions like sending coins. Is this possible somehow?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypti - XCR - Ͼ - 3 PoS algorithms - Ed25519 - Next Gen New Source - Launched! on: September 07, 2014, 04:38:36 PM
As there haven't been anymore complaints, I released the Bitcoin funds on my escrow address to the Crypti team:
https://blockchain.info/tx/534ec9f1a1bd880b0fb2fba4ce21e7e1068f61f62edbd27518a89a293a88747d

This means that phase 4 of my escrow agreement has been completed.

Again, there's still one person remaining who did not claim their Crypti stake. The person holding the private key of address 1N2zCW5wtB3jh8j4jUixMvWGVGi8VQneEb can contact me to receive their XCR.

Phase 3 of my escrow agreement has been completed. There has been one complaint but it got resolved so that there are no more open issues. According to the escrow agreement I will release the Bitcoins on the escrow address to the Crypti team later this week.

There's still one person remaining who did not claim their Crypti stake. I created a temporary Crypti wallet and will hold these Crypti coins for the investor. The person holding the private key of address 1N2zCW5wtB3jh8j4jUixMvWGVGi8VQneEb can contact me to receive their Crypti coins.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypti - XCR - Ͼ - 3 PoS algorithms - Ed25519 - Next Gen New Source - Launched! on: August 27, 2014, 08:11:40 AM
please check through the evidence i have given that proves this coin is most likely a scam. The very least the Crypti team could do is release one quarter of the code. I believe they cant cause its a clone. Please prove me wrong. A lot of peoples money is involved.

I'm just providing an escrow service to make sure that everyone receives their share of Crypti tokens. Will these tokens be useful someday or turn out to be useless? Well, it's not up to me to make any judgements about the nature of this project. As I said earlier, anyone should do their own research and decide for themselves.

We have now entered phase 3 of the escrow agreement. Crypti coins have been distributed and I'll be waiting 7 days before releasing escrow funds to the Crypti team.

Anyone who sent Bitcoins to the escrow address, please check your Crypti account balance. Should you think that your account received the wrong amount of Crypti coins then contact me as well as SyRenity and we will try to settle this. Do this within 7 days, the deadline to file a complaint is Wednesday, 3 September 2014, 10:00 UTC.

Anyone who sent Bitcoins to the escrow address and did not contact me yet, please do so to receive your Crypti coins.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BlockScan] Counterparty (XCP) Block Explorer on: July 30, 2014, 07:28:34 AM
I have just verified that there is an issue with the counterparty wallet for message signing due to the bitcore js.

So until this is fixed you will need to sign outside using bitcoinqt or blockchain wallet

Cheers

I tried to sign a message with counterwallet, unfortunately it did not verify on blockscan. Just wanted to see if the above problem is still existent or if this has been already fixed.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | 750 BTC goal is reached! on: July 29, 2014, 07:31:32 PM
Maxmint buyers who would like to participate in the early-trading, please see the blog post for a further instructions:
http://blog.crypti.me/pre-trade-announcement-ticker/

I agreed to provide an escrow service for the initial coin distribution of the Crypti project, full escrow details can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654463.msg7756916#msg7756916

To be honest, I'm not happy that some project details were changed during the pre-sale. That said, I somehow have to react to this development. I talked to SyRenity and we agreed to give those who sent Bitcoins to my escrow address the opportunity to transfer their stake of Crypti over to Bter. If you wanna do this, please follow the instructions here:
http://blog.crypti.me/pre-trade-announcement-ticker/

In short, you will have to sign a message with your investment BTC address to indicate that you wanna have your Crypti stake transferred to Bter.
Investors who don't wanna transfer their stake to Bter can of course just leave everything as is, you'll still be protected by the initial escrow agreement.

Read my post again, I have added the important part everyone so far missed (damn lamers, it is no wonder so many of you end up scammed on every step).

I already addressed that in my original escrow posting, did you read that?

• After the pre-sale has ended, you will have to sign a message with the private key of the investment address you sent the Bitcoins from. This message will include your Crypti account number and allows the Crypti team to securely link your investment to your Crypti account number.

I will definitely make sure the Crypti team will implement it this way.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source | IPO Started on: July 12, 2014, 12:41:29 AM
1. I send you BTC using address for which I have a private key
2. I sign message by Crypti team using private key and reedem Crypti coins to address X
3. I complain to you that I have not received my Crypti coins to address Y

Let's say you signed a message "X". The Crypti team will have a copy of your signed message and can send this to me. This will be proof for me that you claimed "X".
You won't be able to trick me into believing "Y" because there's a signed message that says "X" and the only one who could sign this is you. So it's clear that you signed "X".

1. I send you BTC using address for which I have a private key
2. I sign message by Crypti team using private key and reedem Crypti coins to address X
3. Crypti team instead reedem coins to address Z

If the Crypti team reedemed Crypti coins to account Z then I can ask them to show me a signed message that says "Z". Again, they won't be able to provide this message because you are the only one who could sign this.

In above cases, you have no way to prove that either me or Crypti team cheated.

As explained above, I do have a way to determine which one has cheated.

* PHASE 3: WAITING PERIOD

• After the initial coin distribution, there will be a 7 day waiting period. During this time the Crypti coin distribution can be checked and possible complaints can be filed.
• I will NOT check each and every Crypti account to see whether this account received the correct amount of Crypti coins. Instead, I will use an automated tool provided by the Crypti team to get an overall look on the Crypti coin distribution. This tool is located here: http://crypti.me:11050/
• Should an investor feel that his account received the wrong amount of Crypti coins or no Crypti coins at all then he will need to contact the Crypti team as well as me.
• In case of disputes I will refer to the above distribution scheme.

Basically, you will trust a party that you were not supposed to trust? Unless you yourself look into each account how exactly will you be able to decide about anything? You are
not the one who is in control of Crypti coins so what happens if I received less or no coins but you afterwards "refer to the above distribution scheme", I'll end up without both
part of or all Crypti and all BTC?

Investors can and should check their Crypti balance on their own. If you (after 7 days) don't file a complaint then I can safely assume that you are happy with the amount of Crypti coins you received.
But if you file a complaint I will take a close look at your balance and see if there's anything wrong. If you did not receive the correct amount of Crypti coins then I will try to find a solution in consultation with you and the Crypti team, possibly refunding your BTC if there's no other way.

Other than that, how will you know what is my Crypti account? As far as I can see, the only place where I'm supposed to reveal it is Crypti website and only when reedeming my
coins. So, I use one Crypti address to reedem coins and give you some other one (0 coins there) or Crypti team starts claiming I reedemed coins to address they actualy control,
how will you decide who is right? Since you don't control Crypti coins, if you trust Crypti team on the matter I might end up without both Crypti and BTC. If you trust me then it
is Crypti team that might end up without both Crypti and BTC.

I don't have to trust anyone here, I just have to take a look at the signed messages. The only person who's able to sign a message with the sending BTC address is the person who has the private key. So only you are able to sign a message with your sending BTC address. In case of a dispute I will ask the Crypti team to provide the signed message (containing the Crypti account you gave them). They won't be able to forge this message because they don't have the private key of your address. So there's no doubt about the Crypti account number you sent them.

I agreed to provide an escrow service for the initial coin distribution of the "Crypti" project. The main thread for this project is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654463.0

BE SURE TO FULLY READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL OF THIS BEFORE SENDING BITCOINS TO THE ESCROW ADDRESS.

* PREAMBLE

• By sending Bitcoins to the escrow address you agree to the terms of this escrow service as detailed below.

• I will not take any responsibility for Bitcoins you send to the escrow address. People who already have used my escrow service most probably know that I won't run away with your coins. I will of course do my best to keep them safe and I’ll try to make this a success for all parties concerned. But there are always uncontrollable circumstances and some things could potentially go wrong with a new project like this. So I can't take any responsibility for your Bitcoins or the Crypti coins you wish to receive.

• Should there be any dispute between investors and the Crypti team I will be the ultimate arbitrator to decide what's to happen with the Bitcoins sent to the escrow address.

• I do not personally know the developers of this project and I don't invest in this project myself. I'm not affiliated with any of the Crypti developers, I'm not endorsing this project and I don't give any recommendation to invest. I'm merely providing a neutral escrow service. Be sure to do your own research.

• I signed this message with my PGP key, you can find my public PGP key in my profile signature and on www.keybase.io/maxmint. I never send out escrow details or Bitcoin addresses without signing them.

• Don't trust quoted addresses as they may be tampered with. If in doubt, refer to my original posting and verify my signed message.

• Should the Bitcointalk forum go down you can reach me at maxmint@bitmessage.ch

• A copy of this posting is located at http://pastebin.com/LtJ218jC

* THE ESCROW ADDRESS

• I created a Bitcoin address, hereinafter referred to as the escrow address.
• The escrow address was created on an offline computer and is backed up securely.
• The escrow address is 1u2FuXyp9BSVKaNA1FidqzTvRsYiGVkn8
• Do NOT send Bitcoins from an address that you don't control the private key of. This is absolutely crucial as you will have to sign a message with your private key to claim your Crypti coins. If you don't know what a private key is then you should not proceed at all.
• Do NOT send Bitcoins from a hosted wallet like Coinbase as you won't be able to access your private key. Sending from a hosted wallet like Coinbase means that you won't be able to receive Crypti coins and that you won't be able to receive a refund of your Bitcoins.
• Please also note that a Bitcoin transaction can have multiple inputs. This means that your Bitcoin client probably sends from more than one address. Always send from only one single address, most modern Bitcoin clients allow you to choose your inputs. If your transaction has multiple inputs then the largest input will be considered as the relevant investment address.

* PHASE 1: PRE-SALE

• The investment phase for the Crypti project ("pre-sale") will run for 30 days. It starts on Fri, 11 July 2014 00:00:00 UTC (epoch timestamp: 1405036800) and runs until Sun, 10 August 2014 00:00:00 UTC (epoch timestamp: 1407628800).
• People who are interested in investing in the Crypti project can send their Bitcoins to the escrow address and will get a share of Crypti coins after the pre-sale has ended, see section "Crypti coin distribution".
• There will be a fee deducted from your investment, see section "escrow service fees".
• After the pre-sale has ended, you will have to sign a message with the private key of the investment address you sent the Bitcoins from. This message will include your Crypti account number and allows the Crypti team to securely link your investment to your Crypti account number.
• I will hold the Bitcoins on the escrow address until the Crypti development team has successfully distributed Crypti coins to all investors in the announced way.

* PHASE 2: CRYPTI COIN DISTRIBUTION

• Within 7 days after the pre-sale has ended (until Sun, 17 August 2014 00:00:00 UTC, epoch timestamp 1408233600), the Crypti team will send Crypti coins to each of the investors according to the allocation scheme described here: https://github.com/crypti/crypti-docs/blob/master/presale.md
• I have copied this document to pastebin for later reference: http://pastebin.com/DqCNWWug
• I also created a SHA256 hash of the raw pastebin document: 79bfb302c21cf075b668fcb5d428c574734519e9fe11bc8d8787a642adde2188
• There's a minimum investment amount of 0.01 BTC. Any transaction that sends less than 0.01 BTC will not be included in the Crypti coin distribution and will not be refunded.
• There's a cap of 2% (of total Bitcoins invested during the pre-sale, both via Bter and Maxmint) per transaction. Any transaction larger than 2% of the total amount of Bitcoins collected will receive a refund of the excess amount. So if you send 4 BTC and the total amount collected was 150 BTC you would receive a refund of 1 BTC.

* PHASE 3: WAITING PERIOD

* PHASE 4: RELEASE OF BITCOINS

• After the waiting period is over and in case of a successful Crypti coin distribution, I will send the Bitcoins on the escrow address to the Crypti team, minus a 1% success fee.
• Should the Crypti team not be able to distribute Crypti coins in the announced way, then I will send back investments to investors, minus a 3% service fee, see section "Refunds".

* ESCROW SERVICE FEES

• There are 2 fees for this escrow service, a 1% success fee and a 3% refund fee.
• In case of success, the 1% fee will be deducted from your investment. So if you send 1 BTC to the escrow address you will receive Crypti coins worth 0.99 BTC and the Crypti team will receive 0.99 BTC.
• In case of a refund, a 3% fee will be deducted from your refund. So if you send 1 BTC to the escrow address and I send back a refund, you will receive 0.97 BTC.

* REFUNDS

• A refund will only be sent if the Crypti team is not able to deliver Crypti coins in the announced way.
• You won’t be able to receive a refund during the pre-sale period.
• A refund will be sent back to your investment address. If a transaction has multiple inputs then I will send the refund to the input with the largest amount. Should there be 2 inputs with the exact same amount then I will choose randomly.
• There will be a 3% fee deducted from the refunded amount, see section "escrow service fees".
• The necessary mining fee for refunds will be deducted from each investment.

* DISPUTE HANDLING AND UNFORESEEN PROBLEMS

• It's quite obvious that there could be problems that are not foreseeable. Should an unforeseen problem occur, then I will talk back to the community as well as the Crypti team to find a solution. Should there be no solution that everybody agrees on then I will be the ultimate arbitrator to decide how to proceed.

Regarding escrow: I just talked to SyRenity and there were a couple of unclear things. I'm pretty nitpicking when it comes to escrow terms and I won't start escrowing before every little detail is known and fixed.

So the devs decided to delay the start of the IPO – which is a good idea in my eyes, as it will make things safer and clearer for investors.

I'm currently talking to a Crypti project member about the details and will make a posting here once everything is settled.
