1  Other / Politics & Society / From Satoshi to Hal Finney: Revisiting the First Steps of Bitcoin in 2009-2010. on: January 05, 2025, 10:32:27 PM
Initially, this post aims to pay tribute to Hal Finney and Satoshi Nakamoto, whom, to me, represent the same person, among other possibilities. The comparison of images and posting times reveals a remarkable similarity in their schedules and actions: Satoshi Nakamoto began his activities in 2009, while Hal Finney made his first appearance on the forums exactly one year later, in the same month that Satoshi first manifested himself. It is likely that Hal Finney felt more secure to continue the Bitcoin project from that point onward.
Both maintained a similar routine: they would wake up around 4 a.m. or 6 a.m., starting their personal activities before returning to work later, always around lunchtime, in the late afternoon, and sometimes just before midnight. These were their work hours and other activities, which made them, in many respects, ordinary people.
One of their main concerns was the critical moment when WikiLeaks gained prominence. Satoshi Nakamoto, who in reality was Hal Finney, expressed concern about a potential government intervention against Bitcoin, which led him to temporarily withdraw from the project due to reprisals that, unfortunately, could not be avoided. There are even suspicions that Hal Finney may have been the victim of a biochemical attack as a result of his involvement.
This post is open for discussion, and any contribution will be welcome.
