Well, astronomically high costs, goes directly to their pocket, so that doesn't need to be explained.
Usually with new mining machine in the market old model price goes down but if they starts from an already low point the people who wants to move from S7 to S9 will need to sell more S7 ghs for each S9 ghs.
Also usually after the initial "panic" sell prices of the old model goes down enough to become profitable again, even better than the new model.
That already happened with S5 when S7 was launched, of course this is just temporal, but you could get a big profit, specially if you can manipulate the market and knows when the artificial problems are going to start or end.

Also loose and earn some on other ponzi schemes and loose on Genesis mining
I did not recommend them neither said that they are serious, really I'm almost sure they are a ponzi.

But as I've said some times, cloud mining is not an investment, it's a lottery, if you pick the correct scammer at the correct time you may win, you will loose in all the other cases.
You will loose for sure with legit companies, so take it as gambling and consider these rules

1- If you want to contribute to BTC infrastructure build a node and run it by yourself, if you have free electricity, there are chances to have some profit, if not you will loose money, but contribute to the network security.
2- f you want to contribute to BTC infrastructure and don't want to build a node and run it by yourself, buy some hash on legit companies if that exist (there are chances that Genesis mining and hashnest are the only ones in these category) you will convert part of your money to BTC but less than buying it directly on the market without waiting.
3- If you just want to have some BTC, buying them on the market is the fastest and cheaper choice
4- If you like to gamble on ponzi schemes "invest" in them, sometimes you will loose (most of them) and sometimes you could win. but consider it as gambling not an investment.

5- Enjoy your life and BTC :-D

I could offer 10000 satoshi just in case they pay something some day in the future. But is almost sure a complete loose.

Did you consider that if you play lottery and win you are stealing money from others?

We must understand this is not an investment, and they are not real companies it's like a lottery (without the positive social impact of lottery, here the scammer get the big part and of course rules aren't transparent nor fair)
They evaluate the risk of being caught by law and assumes the risk to perform the scam
We should evaluate the risk related to put money on them considering that their main objective is to steal as much they can

No, I'm not one of they minions, may be I'm just a "lucky" guy.
The quotes are cause I may being lucky with them (And with Scrypt.cc I have 0.23 ROI and another 0.05 waiting for withdraw) but also loose money on  LTCGear, zenminer, hashprofit and Genesis (In this last case they are not a ponzi, but a sure path to loose money)

I've created an excel spreadsheet to analyze hashnest investing, it's not a big thing but helps, originally was for my own use, but now I've created an slack group and uploaded it there.

The sheet grab info from public pages like AntPool, Bitstamp and Alloscomp. But hashnest information must be exported by you as excel and copy pasted into it.
I know that could be grabbed with the API directly but still does not have the skills for that and also many people could be worried about their account security, so I choose to use this way.

There is a point that you aren't take into consideration, you could sell your hash at any moment, so even with GHS prices falling if they take more than 254 days to reach 0 you will have that sell as an earning.

Depending of difficulty increase, BTC prices and so on you could made profit.

Agree with you that is too risky with S4 at current prices but isn't impossible

Actually I've had put some buy orders that trigger with half prices and already traded some S3 hash with very good profit
