Update 10/15/14

We Have Expanded Our Marketplace To Include Non-Bitcoin Accepting Merchants...Lots of Them
You Will Now Receive Bitcoin Cash Back For Shopping With Some Of The Largest Retailers On The Planet.

Although we fully support Bitcoin accepting retailers, we have decided to list non-accepting Bitcoin retailers to the marketplace as well. We understand that it is still early in the "digital currency game" and a majority of your favorite retailers may not be accepting such at this current time. Although there are some truly great merchants accepting Bitcoin, the list is not yet long enough to give our shopper the flexibility they deserve to shop with their favorite eCommerce merchants and receive Bitcoin cash-back.

We think you will be pleased with the quality merchants that were added. Some of Our newely added retailers include:
Nike, Staples, Sephora, GameStop, 1800Flowers, GoDaddy, FinishLine, Macys + MUCH MORE

View the Complete List of Retailers Below:
http://bitfranklin.org/marketplace/All-Retailers/
(Make sure to add your wallet before shopping!)

If you would like to request a particular retailer to be added to the marketplace, please tweet us (@BitFranklin) and we will try our best to list them accordingly.

You can still shop with the same Bitcoin accepting merchants listed on the marketplace ( Menu located to the left titled "Bitcoin Friendly")

Thanks for Reading

What is BitFranklin?

BitFranklin.org offers “cash back” shopping incentives in the form of Bitcoin payments. Every time you purchase by clicking through our marketplace to a retailers webstore, you receive a percentage of your purchase, which is sent back to your BTC wallet address. We like to think of it as “Bitcoin Back”

Shoppers also have the option to donate the ”cash back” they would be receiving to a digital currency project or organization of choice.

How does it Work?

Advertisers pay us commission, and we send a portion of our commission payments to you ( the shopper) in the form of Bitcoin.

How To Get “Bitcoin Back” or Donate a Portion of Your Purchase

1. Visit the marketplace (http://bitfranklin.org/marketplace)
2. Enter your BTC wallet address or choose the organization in which you wish to donate a portion of your sale.
3. Begin browsing the marketplace and click through to the retailers site where you wish to shop.
4. Shop and buy from the retailers site as you normally would.
5. Each purchase is tracked: Your purchases are traced back to the BTC wallet you entered on BitFranklin
6. Once we are notified of your purchase, we send the appropriate payments to your entered BTC wallet address.
7. Enjoy your “Bitcoin Back”!

Why not just use existing "cash back" websites?

The major advantage we have over other cashback websites is speed and no minimum payouts
Where sites that deal in USD have to deal with transaction fees, the flexibility of paying users in Bitcoin allows us to send small payments immediately after our advertisers notify us of a purchase.

We already have a majority of the large eCommerce Bitcoin accepting retailers and are working on adding more each day.

We are also looking for digital currency organizations or projects that would like to be listed as an option to receive cash back. Would also get a direct backpage EX: http://www.bitfranklin.org/electronicfrontierfoundation (page we created for EFF)

Please contact me [Ross at BitFranklin.org] if you have any further questions or would like to participate in anyway.
All feedback welcome.

Thanks!
4  Bitcoin / Project Development / My Bitcoin Venture - A Digital Currency Marketplace That Gives Back on: September 20, 2014, 07:16:54 PM
Hi all.

I am in the midst of slowly beginning to launch a Bitcoin start-up (for lack of a better term) that I have been working very hard to put together for some time now. Just wanted to drop in and get some feedback and weigh some opinions.*Please comment and let me know what you think, I would very very much appreciate it*

Anyways, the URL is: http://www.Bitfranklin.org
Essentially it is a marketplace that consists of digital currency accepting merchants. ( BTC manily but will also incorporate others as they become more widely accepted.)
--The hook is that we will be splitting commissions (roughly 50%) with digital currency dev projects and digital currency organizations that the shopper will choose.

Users will shop as they normally would on the merchants web store after clicking through our marketplace. Technically, shoppers are not "donating" anything. Whenever a purchase is made, our advertisers pay us for referring the shopper.  Each purchase therein is tracked and recorded. Payments are then sent to the orgs wallet that was chosen for that particular purchase.
--The goal is for our marketplace to give cryptocurrency projects an alternative to simply asking for donations.

We already have most of the big name digital currency accepting merchants and we are working on adding more each day. We are also hoping to raise the donation commission which will be relatively low to start. We currently in the stages of looking for projects and orgs that would like to participate and become eligible for donations. Each will be listed on the homepage as well as receive a custom URL Ex: BitFranklin.org/YourOrg that will lead to their marketplace.

Also, not trying to look too far into the future at this stage, but we may also implement a “bitcoin back” option that will replicate the cash-back model wherein users will be able to shop and have the % commissions sent back to their individual wallets. hmmm well see though.

So, that’s basically it! If you don’t mind, I will leave a few questions below that you can choose to answer or ignore. Just somethings I’d like to know from a different perspective.
1.Is the concept confusing, what could use more explaining?
2.Would you be motivated to shop here?
3.If you had a project/org, would you be eager to be listed on the site or even to share your page with your userbase?
4. How does the “bitcoin back” concept sound?

If you’re looking to participate, questions, comments, anything…you can reach me at Ross [at] Bitfranklin [dot] org. Thanks!
