Interesting. This is exactly what I was wondering, thanks for your reply. Do I have this right: to ensure actual privacy you really have to acquire new bitcoins from a non-kyc and send to a new wallet connected to your own server? Old bitcoins cannot not have a papertrail, its built into its very foundation.

I made myself a Electrs server and have connected my wallet to it. The purpose of making the server is to make my transactions private - is using my old wallet with the server then pointless?
I guess the question is should I make a fresh wallet, connected to the server from the start? Send my funds to a new wallet, and start anew? Couldn't that transfer to the new wallet be tracked also?
Need some info on this.. Should I make a new wallet if I want privacy or would using the old wallet suffice?

Hi guys,
After I updated some things, I restarted Bitcoin Knots to find the software re-downloading the whole blockchain. I already have the complete blockchain downloaded on an external drive. I am wondering how I can direct Bitcoin Knots to the already downloaded blockchain, so I don't need to download it again.
I have deleted and re-downloaded the software itself only to find upon re-installation, it boots and doesn't go through the standard set-up procedure - jumping straight to downloading the blockchain.
Please help, I can either point it the the direction of the blockchain or delete all files related (not sure how to do this).
THANK YOU
I'M ON LINUX
