3  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Crypto is just like gambling. on: Today at 09:37:36 AM
To understand this, you need to understand the classification of crypto. There is one crypto which is Bitcoin. You cannot compare Bitcoin to gambling, because it is constantly increasing in value and creating new ATHs. Governments of different countries or various organizations in the world are watching Bitcoin.

Another is Altcoin, which is a copy of Bitcoin. Although Altcoin cannot pump value regularly, it is somewhat reliable and it does not depend entirely on luck, but it is investable in the long term.

But if you talk about Memecoin or Shitcoin, then I would say it is completely dependent on luck and it is not investable in the long term. Rather, you can buy and hold in the short term and if luck helps you will make a lot of profit, but most of the time you will lose. So you can compare it to gambling.

Not all cryptos are the same and not all cryptos are like gambling.
Exactly, gambling is something one can not easily predict and even if it’s predicted it’s not guaranteed for one to be successful through it but in case of bitcoin is totally different, even for it fluctuates at times but one can invest in it without the fear of losing it all, one can still benefit and become successful through if leave after a long time, that is to said if one invest into bitcoin for a long term investment, which is guaranteed.
So, bitcoin is not something one can be comparing with gambling expect one doesn’t know what they are doing, that is they didn’t get the right research about bitcoin, though it’s not something that is a easy going but it’s not something like gamble, bitcoin is far better than gambling and it’s good to encourage people to invest in bitcoin than gambling, because one can experience more peace of mind investing in bitcoin than investing in gambling which might even affect one’s mental health easily.
4  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: There is no time that is late when it comes to Bitcoin Investment on: October 02, 2025, 07:30:12 PM
Everyday should be seen as an opportunity to start accumulating Bitcoin and nobody should feel it's too late to invest in Bitcoin. People that heard about bitcoin some years ago but choose not invest when the price was low shouldn't give up because they feel the current price of Bitcoin is too high and will be too expensive for them to buy. I am certain at this point that Everybody can still be an investor in Bitcoin irrespective of Race, gender and whether you're a low income or high income earners Using DCA strategy. DCA strategy have made it possible to buy Bitcoin regardless of the current price Using our discretional income while consistently accumulating Bitcoin for the long term. I believe nobody should feel discouraged to invest in Bitcoin because Bitcoin is for everybody.
Exactly, no time it’s too late to start but it’s important for them to understand the basic principles or knowledge about bitcoin or any crypto and if they are interested they should research about it and ask questions in where they don’t understand. In as much that not everyone have heard about bitcoin but those most people that have heard about it are not interested in it, because most of them believe it’s a scam and while telling people about bitcoin, it’s not fair to make them feel that accumulating bitcoin is an easy thing to do but also makes them to understand them both the benefit and risk behind it too and one more thing no matter how one do it it’s not everyone that will be part of bitcoin or cryptocurrency community.
5  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Should I wait or save a little? on: October 02, 2025, 07:22:26 PM
The reason I disagree is that no one knows when the price will come down. Suppose I waited 6 months or 8 months to buy in DIP. Suddenly the price increased to 170k and then the price decreased to 125k. This is more than the current price. If I wait like this, I feel like I will have to settle for less profit instead of the excess profit.

Sounds like someone who is interested in Short term gains; if you're that person then Bitcoin is not for you cause you won't make any profit from it and may be forced to sell at loss. Dip doesn't matter if you're in for a long term let say 2-4 years at least cause the new ATH always surpasses the previous ones.

If you have too much spare money on you there's no reason to not go all in and DCA monthly to increase your stash - ignore the price entirely. If you're looking for a short term gain, invest in altcoins.

Ps: If you're unsure if any investment, do not invest.
True talk, investing in crypto is not for the weak o, if your mind no strong no put body and it’s important for one to understand what they are doing before making decisions, in order not to do things that they will later regret it in life.
And beside not everyone has all it takes to invest in crypto, not that it’s not good to invest in it but it takes for one to have patience, self discipline or control for one to be able to invest, so as one can be able to leave it for a long term goal.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What’s the right age to start gambling? on: October 01, 2025, 12:11:11 PM
The right age for someone to start gambling should be the age they are when they started earning money for themselves after they are above 18 years. I mean the person should be 18 years of age or above and he should have a job or where he is earning money. So the age can be above 18 years for someone not having a job yet.
You are very correct but as it stands now, most young ones are no longer getting to the age of 18 before they start gambling, because most of them see gambling as a means of making money and this makes them to go any length to have money they can use to gamble, even if it's an illegal activities, as far as the getting money from it they don't care but it's essential for parents and guardians to play their role very well to ensure the wellness of the society.
7  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Male or female who contributes more in society on: October 01, 2025, 12:05:56 PM
We all know that both man and woman has a vital role to play in the society although in different ways like contributing through ideas, works, developing and caring of the families and communities. It's said to be that men historically has been more visible in particular areas of society then women are seen as the backbone of the families, communities and the economy  even when they're not recognised, we move forward as a society When we embrace both equally.

Because in today's society  women are now major players of politics,in the aspect of education, healthcare, business and technology while men involve in caregiving and responsible for the home. That balance shows that the contribution is not actually measured by gender but how both individuals impact to the society. There is this saying that goes "that what men can do women can do better"
So I want to know should we ask ourselves regardless of how the society succeeds more when we determine who does more or when both genders are valued equally for the special roles they play.
For me, everyone is playing their role in any way they can and it's good that women are picking up to also meet up with men, so that Incase the men are not around they can replace them.
And for the growth of the society it's good for everyone to join hands together and make the society a better one for everyone to be comfortable with it.

9  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Online love scam still exist be careful. on: September 29, 2025, 09:11:23 PM
Crypto scam has been in existence long time ago, I believe this is not the first time someone has been scammed of his crypto asset. Any one on internet should be Very careful with the kind of people they discuss with, expecialy any discussion that involves money or crypto should be avoided totally. The thing is that the reg flag is always clear but most guys will still fall for it out or greediness. The truth is that any business we try to do online without knowing who we are doing business with physical, should be totally avoided because the risk is very high. And if you are scammed for it, you won't hold anybody responsible for it because you took an unnecessary risk.
Exactly, this one is not a new thing nah, everyone should have been informed about it already or before now and this life there some kinds things that if one don't understand they can ask people they knew that might have better understanding of it and will help you to be able to know if they are scam before before taking matters in their owns hands, to avoid actions that will make them to regret their decision making.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it still gambling if you're sure you're going to win? on: September 28, 2025, 04:06:30 PM
Gambling is indeed not a place to make money, but having the hope that something can come out of it is also not a bad thing. On the other hand, anything you pay more to enjoy should have a chance of getting some back, even if it's considered to be a bonus. The only place I hold something against some gamblers is when they consider it to be their major source of income; it will ruin them and make them spend the little they have without getting any significant thing out of it.
You are absolutely right, but it's going to be a difficult thing for a gambler to enjoy what they are doing when they are not getting enough, ad this will surely lead to addiction because we as human being has this selfish and greedy attitude that one won't be satisfied with what they are getting from gambling no matter how small it is (most people though). That is why there are still eager to keep gambling even though they know they know till will ruin them, which is why it's better to practice healthy gambling lifestyle early as it will prevent them from unnecessary pressure or pitfalls from gambling.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Salary VS Profit on: September 27, 2025, 09:18:24 PM
Not many people can earn a profit so they prefer to chase a salary by working in some work. Earning profit needs courage to start a business and face the challenge without stopping. They need to be creative than their competitor so they can make more profit.

Earning profit is not easy because they must work and find the right formula that can give them profit. It needs more research and test it before they can see their strategy works and make money.
Exactly and starting up a business is not really an easy thing though it's good for one to be self-employ, that is the profit that they are making from their businesses might be higher than a salary one will be receiving in a month.
But, the ability to navigate through challenges is the key which is not everyone is good at it, that is why people should go for what they know how to do best, although there are some people that learn from their mistakes that is if they love what they are doing, then they will make a determination to build it up and maintain it.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Bitcoin Strategic Reserve. on: September 27, 2025, 07:31:38 PM
The US government HODLing Bitcoin for 20 years? What would the cryptocurrency world look like in 2045?
Honestly speaking, if I had to think about an asset that I would be happy to put in a box for 20 years only to be sold not earlier than that date, I would go for Bitcoin.
I have no certainty about the state of crypto in 20 years, but I am sure that Bitcoin will be there at a nominal price above today's (not so sure about every shitcoin).

Likely one of the criticisms of recent governing dynamics has been a lot of their inabilities to plan for long-term down the road and/or to follow through with such planning in fiscally disciplined ways.

Surely many folks have come to question the governments ability to employ self-disciplined and financially sound practices (including limiting themselves to spending within their means) - which is ongoingly abused by so many governments, and perhaps the ones that are disciplined and strive to spend within their means are punished for being responsible.
That's right but there are some things that one shouldn't expect the government to do it before we can do by ourselves.
Since we know that prioritizing long-term planning is a necessity for one to exhibit for our own benefits and not for any one else, even though we are be criticize about maintaining or demonstrating self-discipline.
Although it's also important for the government to practice and maintain fiscal discipline as it will help the society to be debt free and also be used to create job opportunities for people that don't have any means of solving their problems and fostering a stable economic. Which will also help those that are investing in Bitcoin, because it will help them to focus more in Bitcoin and be able to leave it for a long time without touching it, because they have another means of they can solve their financial or emergency purposes.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Social Media influencers on: September 27, 2025, 10:39:06 AM
Unfortunately, I don't have any idea of any gambling influencers since this is one of the parts of gambling I never gave any attention to, but then I am curios and just want to ask, why does this matter? Like, discuss them here..

Anyways, speaking of making money off gambling, there are several ways of achieving this just same way there are several methods of catching a rat 🐀.
But above all, I personally think and believe that owning a casino that is already known and very successful is the ultimate, running a casino is not just gambling, it's a business, and a lucrative one at that.
I remember back in the day, I had plans of building my own online casino, but right now, i think I am giving up on the idea because I found something I feel is much better.. 😁
Though, it might a very good and profitable business if you have actualize it already, because nowadays most youths put all their focus in gambling and believe they will make it or become successful through gambling and this will bring a lot of customers to your online platform and this will make you a lot of sales or money, because those who owned casinos are always rich.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it still gambling if you're sure you're going to win? on: September 27, 2025, 10:30:42 AM
This is how some people will think and stake their money on a game or bet and lose. They may think that they would win and just lose because they are overconfident of their decisions.

Or maybe you can explain what you mean better and also let us know the kind of bet. But I have not seen a better that is 100% guaranteed before.
No matter how confident one is, gambling will always be gambling and one can't change the fact.
Gambling is a game of fun or entertainment and one should practice healthy gambling lifestyle that will make not to spend all their money finish, because the earlier people understand that gambling is not a place where one can make money the better for them.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The rich is hugely favoured in gamble. on: September 27, 2025, 09:56:37 AM
I definitely agree with this idea because the fact is that gambling was originally designed for the rich and not the poor this is the main reason why you don't see many rich people getting addicted to gambling but the poor, this is because the rich people don't need to crack their head with accumulating plenty of odds they can pick one odd that has a high chance of winning and decides to use a very huge money in placing the game and the probability of winning will be high. But the poor due to lack of money to play will be targeting huge amounts of winning with just small amount of money by accumulating plenty of games which end up losing.
Exactly, the rich don't have to stress themselves in order to win and this type of gambling are always very lucky to win, even though they might have some losses but they still will be winning too and they have this self control that they can be able to quit when they know that there losses are higher than the winning but that is not in the case of the poor people mentality. But it's good to patronize healthy gambling lifestyle.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does your instincts influence your gambling decision? on: September 27, 2025, 09:30:00 AM
I personally don't believe in the idea that my instincts can help me with my gambling decisions, if that means a greater chance of winning at least. I think that this has more to do with some kind of magical thinking than with any real ability.

Different personality traits, different ways of gambling, and thereof some people prefers to follow their guts when gambling and, if they win, they think that it was because of the influence of their instincts. But this is not my case, if you ask me.
Lol... that's funny but gambling is not always based on instincts but based on luck and chance, maybe they might  be thinking to win money and they were like I wish I could win today and unfortunately that day is their luck day and they were luck to win, which they did and they will think it's their instincts. But in some cases it doesn't work like that no matter how they wish they will win, they will still end up losing.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How easy it is to be addicted to gambling? on: September 27, 2025, 07:45:46 AM
I have been gambling for years, maybe I have been addicted to it at some point even though I never noticed, however I'm a little in control of my gambling activities. Something still get me confused regarding gambling addiction that is a hot topic here and I want to get opinion of others on these areas:
  • How do you know you are addicted to gambling
  • How easy it is to be addicted to gambling?
  • Can an addicted gambler work himself out of that addiction without help from anyone, if yes, is it still addiction?
Knowing when you are addicted to gambling is when you can't control yourself until you don't any money with you again, which you have used all for gambling because you are either losing more than your win and you want to recover all your losses or maybe you are winning and yet not satisfied, maybe you want to win a very huge amount of money, this act is as a result of addiction and in this case it will be hard for one to know when to quit or stop and how you can work on yourself when you notice that you are a gambling addict, is by telling your loved ones or a therapist concerning your habit because if it's by your strength alone, you can't possibly stop by yourself which is why it's always advisable for one to gamble responsibly and gamble with what you can afford to lose.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your funniest gambling story? on: September 27, 2025, 07:38:33 AM
If you have high amount of money there, you will not smile but frown your face instead. But gambling should be for fun, you did it the right way.

Mine was not funny but which I still remember. I had $20 which I am using to spin, I have not won up to $3 and the games was very annoying. My mother called and we talked for like 10 minutes or more. Later I remember that I still have 2 spins left and the game has not closed, the next spin button I pressed after the call, I won over $220.
Wow, that's very good story and its also funny too, because it's just as if it's like a magic works. Assuming your mom didn't called you, maybe you won't be that luck to win wore than your your capital, because you will continuing gambling and with the way the game was so annoying as you have said, it will be causing you to lose more but it's good for your mom to called you out and to clear up your brain and it act serves as way of achieving or getting what you wanted.
19  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Think carefully before beginning bitcoin investment on: September 25, 2025, 08:42:42 PM
True talk, if most investors know really know the basic knowledge and understanding of Bitcoin investment, e go help them to fit dey make or take decisions wey go help their investment plan and support them to become an accomplishment.
Though the journey of investing in Bitcoin no really they easy o, especially if one no get another source of income, they fit dey put hand there to sort out their financial problems, which go fit make the investment to become an actualization or dream come true.
20  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Must everyone invest in Bitcoin? on: September 25, 2025, 08:37:23 PM
Removing the word must in this context before I begin, no everyone must not invest in Bitcoin it's not something forced down anybody's throat, to my own submission I would say Bitcoin is something I will advice an average person/individual to invest in it, since it's invention/creation in 2009 it's price keeps appreciating, we live in a world were Bitcoin has become part of us, even the grocery stores now accept Bitcoin transfers, so you see cryptocurrency is gradually taken over your traditional banking systems, those who invest and have made it big in other fields still find a way to invest there money Bitcoin, the truth is that no matter the years to come Bitcoin will keep on appreciating, so I say every body must(it's coming from the angle of advice and not literally telling or compelling any one to invest) invest there resources in Bitcoin because years to come it would be more valuable and beneficial to you.

Exactly, no be by force say everybody go must do crypto because for this life no be everything person dey perfect for, e get somethings wey person go dey perfect or go pick interest, another person fit no dey interested even if they force am to join, e go dey make some kinds mistakes wey e no fit withstand and wey go make am fit give up for am.
So na why e good make everyone just do their own thing, wey them know say them fit do and wey go also give them peace of mind, because no be everybody fit dey withstand the mental pressure o.
